>> we did have that band of snow that came through last night and, of course, that helped to bring us that frozen stuff out on the roads in some places. it's not widespread but those northern counties did see a bit of that. now today's going to end up being a nice day. we're going to see partly cloudy skies. temperatures the warmest all week and into the low 40s. the developing storm system down to the south. getting geerd up and heading our way. we go into the winter storm warning starting at midnight tonight through 6:00 p.m. on saturday. this is where we can see two to four inches of snow and sleet combined a quarter to half an inch combined. power outages as well. that begins tonight. the eastern part of the viewing area is under a winter advisory. up to maybe a tenth of an inch of ice. this is just a guess as to how this will all shake out. the storm track. those numbers will shift a bit.

the national weather service says eastern kentucky, western virginia and southeast pennsylvania could get town 2 feet of snow. that's 20u 2000. the heaviest hit area is baltimore and washington, d.c. grief counselors are at two county schools. >> they returned for the first time since two teenagers were killed in a hit and run crash. tara lynn is live in wilmington this morning. tara? >> these students were just 13 and 16 years old. they're still looking for the driver that killed them. a group of fourteens were walking home from a convenience store on highway 421 around 11:00 saturday night. that's when a driver hit them from behind. 13-year-old jennifer shark and

shark went to a middle school. steven daniels was treated and release from the hospital. wral say investigator -- may be belong to a late 1980s or early 1990s chevy -- try to see if they can use that piece of the headlight to match it up with some of the cars they can find in that video. ultimately they can find the driver responsible. all right. i know that investigation continues and we'll continue following it. the child was shot outside on christmas day. police say the shots were fired from a moving car. one of them hit the kids in the head. attempted murder. >> still working this morning to learn the name of the suspect who led authorities on

a high speed chase through three counties. detectives initially tried to stop the car on lawson street near dontown durham when they saw someone toss a weapon. suspects took off getting on the durham freeway and driving out toward i-85. that's when the state trooper caught up and managed to stop it. asian bizones have become targets of violent crimes. he changed his experience with wral. he's one of 14 -- he is one of 14 crimes police are investigating that started in october. thieves were first breaking into the homes when they weren't there. lately police say the criminals have changed their tactics. they're breaking in when they were there with their families. >> they broke in from the garage to upstairs to find where the money i keep. but i say i don't have any
