and crews are ready to respond. >> i am gerald owens. >> our team are monitoring this winter impact of this community. >> here is greg fishel kicking off our coverage with the latest storm track. >> all right, take a look at the durham skycam, sort of enjoy that look because we are not going the see anything quite like that until sunday of the way it appears now. here is the satellite, you can see where the storm is coming from. it is virtually all in the form of rain right now. it is moving north ward in the environment that's cold off to haveno wlleet st about the time of rush hour resumes. timing on here, we are looking at thefar southwest county seeing precipitation first, that could be a mixture of rain and sleet down there. once it gets uptowards

reports of snow and eventually, that snow working its way up to our north eastern county around 7:00 give or take up there. winterstorm in effect much of the viewing area in old rapids and nashville and harnett county and fayetteville and on north and west, again, there will be quite a bit of rain and snow accumulation in that area. >> north and west totals to the south and east will be more freezing rain and rain event. i think there will be substantial impact of where you are in that area. we havea lot to work on here. we'll continue to do that and we'llbreak it down in details and let you know who's likely to get what as much as you and me possible. >> that's the big question, greg, thank you. there are several school districts have made the call to cancel classes tomorrow. we have more than 150 closings or delays registered on

if you have been out today, you will notice that grocery stores and hardware stores are packed, people are stocking up. live on what is out selling out in durham. >> reporter: of course, salt is a big sell out. it is asimilar scenario in stores across the triangle. >> with winter weather pressing towards the east coast, shoppers are making the shopping list to tie them through the storm. >> she had to go back to kroger a second time to get food for her neighbors. >> you got to take care of everybody else, too. >> shoppers grab the usual milk, bread and water and some opted other food items to get them through the days.

and grilled cheese and pot roast and plenty of wine. >> it is like bread and milk. they're going to get theirice and snow shovel >> the sand and salt is going fast and some shoppers want to make sure they stay warm in case of a power outage. >> this is a little propane heater and you hook it to the side here. we didn't have it last year and we had bad weather and i diplomat like it too much. >> well, i talked to the management here at kroger about what they have plan this evening, they're calling in extra employees just to make sure they could handle the extra traffic they get when people get off work. >> it is going to be busy. >> west of the triangle are bracing for the storms as well. >> crews started pretreating the roads last night continuing into the day.
