secretary of the air force which basically said this is a cost- cutting measure that will save the air force money and not jeopardize airborne training at fort bragg. senators thom tillis and richard burr disagree. they say the air force will be held accountable to prove every month that the troops at fort bragg are not being put in danger by not having the aircraft readily available for training on post. i spoke with congresswoman renee ellmers by phone this afternoon and she says she's taking her gloves off to continue the fight. ellemers says she was outraged by one of the suggestions the air force offered to make sure airborne training continues at fort bragg. "we have heard that they are planning busing a number of the paratroopers from fort bragg all the way to charleston to get on aircraft there and then be flown back over fort bragg and dropped. now that is absolutely ridiculous." the letter from the air force says there is a
