>> it is hard to think about that right now because the loss is fresh but they had a wonderful season. cam newton was very disappointed but let's listen in. >> it was a one score game. there are always opportunities. oh - - up or down cocky pounding. it was a one score game. we just need to put ourselves in that position. i think they are a good team. the did a good job. they were able to make good place.
11:20 pm
schools were delayed a couple of hours. >> you talked about the messy start to the day, this is video of sleet in johnson county. and there were numerous accidents near sonoma. these roads also cause problems on interstate 95 and interstate 40 but no serious injuries were reported. >> it was also quite windy. especially on the golf courses. can you believe it? i mean were you wearing shorts? no. but when gloves get wet, it really section - - accentuates all of that. >> the weather was not my problem. it is not my problem, i have many problems that need to be corrected everywhere but this
11:21 pm
one of my friends posted about hurricane isabel. you cannot tell these hurricanes apart. this is impressive as a storm. you can also see the leftovers pulling away and temperatures recover nicely tomorrow. this is how much rain fall occurred. amy and mike talked over the weekend about the fact there
11:22 pm
distance and if it shifted 25 miles 25 miles either way it would make a huge difference of what you saw in the backyard when all was said and done. and this intensified so quickly that it falls into the category of a meteorology bomb. it is shifting to the east to be coming our way. here is a look at the skycap. 40 degrees, temperatures out of the airport, we are getting some clearing out of the area. temperatures are dropping into the 30s. everybody else is in the 40s except for newburg. they are 39 degrees with some precipitation nearby but the overall chill is shifting out and clearing. we start off nice and sunny for tomorrow morning.
11:23 pm
the clouds shield retreats to the east with plot - - patches of black ice and not all of that has evaporated, although i do not think it should be widespread. tomorrow temperatures get into th50anclouds will be increasing. colder air comes aloft. we see a couple of those showers - - showers briefly heavy. then we get colder and drier and that will be reflected in the seven- day period for the rest of the overnight we are waiting for the clearing skies and ack ice in some of the areas. we did get significant precipitation in some areas. on your way to school if you are not on the delay, temperatures
11:24 pm
bright start and the ride home will be milder. in the late afternoon showers pop up as the next cold front approaches. looking at the seven-day, there are some changes compared to tomorrow. 40s on tuesday and then wednesday and thursday, you will probably not get out of the 30s either day. this is a second shot of cold air coming this weekend. it has the potential to be even colder than what we will see tuesday and thursday but for snow lovers, unfortunately there will not be any return on the investment. it will be cold and well below normal especially in contrast. >> our coverage continues on this special hour-long edition

11:26 pm
you are looking at levi stadium where the panthers are still coming out after the broncos beat the panthers by a score of 24-10. they were hoping for a different outcome but that is the way it goes. >> they will always be winners and losers and unfortunately the panthers lost tonight. but jeff bradley is in santa clara. we heard from kim newton and greg olson.
11:27 pm
peyton manning. >> reporter: absolutely and i have a back story to talk about as well. we saw kevin cooper on the field. and if duke made it here this weekend, well, everybody got that feeling that with - - that this will be his last game and he could decide to come back but you saw him looking stoic and soaking it in and then to have the coach here who meant - - mentor to h im, you know that was special to him but this is an iconic quarterback. i mentioned that he was on the judgment - - junkyard. but just moments ago he was at the podium. >> it is a great feeling and a great sense of accomplishment. the team has been resilient and
11:28 pm
display tonight. it was truly a team effort. >> he bragged about his defense. he said look, our defense of is phenomenal. he is not the same peyton manning but he said this weekend you know sometimes that might not show 95 miles per hour anymore but he can still find the corners and that's what he did not, just enough to get a victory in his second super bowl. >> a lot of people don't think the panthers played well enough but some people are confirmed - - concerned about the officiating and maybe some bad calls in the game? >> i think some calls were missed for the panthers sake. some things that just disrupted the rhythm.
11:29 pm
into the rhythm. and then the review of that catch that was called incomplete. that was huge. that could have been complete and they could have possibly changed the momentum. but i believe that really took something out of the panthers. look - - i looked at ron and he said i caught it, i caught it, there were disruptive balls in there. - - disruptive calls in there. >> it did not quite go their way. thank you so much. there was something else in the game tonight as well. halftime and the national anthem. lady gaga was amazing.
11:30 pm
linda? >> coldplay took the stage and really came out great. i loved the audience precip - - participation as well. and then bruno mars came into the scene. you know he kind of sold the show. he had a great performance. and then beyonci came out. she was on as well a couple of years ago and i saw negative comments about her performance. some people said she should put on pants. overall i thought it was entertaining. some people thought the actual
11:31 pm
everybody had their own opinion. let's also talk about lady gaga and her - - performance. i wondered if she would go in and sing it her way or go traditional. she sang it traditional with her mix at the end. but her voice was amazing and she looked stunning and i thought it was beautiful. did you like her singing? >> how could you not? she was fantastic. it was one of those performances that was just stunning. i was impressed and sometimes they can be a big fee - - failed but she nailed it and she had those blue angels flying over and it was a great moment, you are not kidding. >> yes, and several people took
11:32 pm
jean simmons even said she did a great job and i was impressed. that was one of the best i had seen in a while. >> she is known for outrageous costumes at times. i guess someone told her to put on some pants. did someone really say that about beyonci? >> yes, they told her to put on pants. that's what she's known for, what she was wearing and her hair. >> she stood out. >> she used those rollers. live look - - linda loveland, thank you. >> our special one-hour addition continues next. first let's take a look at levi stadium. people are still gathering outside. this event has been like a national holiday. if you are celebrating, don't give it up.
11:33 pm
back. hey, what are you doing? getting the coats. for a half hour? bob just got time warner cable. he's getting more. more what? more than 25,000 movies and shows on demand, most for free. look, he's dvr-ing like 6 shows at once. let's go. ah, this grass is so much greener than on our tv. why are your shoes off? because i'm on their bed. i don't want to be rude. discover how much more is included. are those meatballs still circulating? get tv, internet and phone for $89.99 per month.
11:34 pm
unfortunately this is how super bowl 50 came to an end if you are a fan and most of you are. for you broncos fans it was a joyous night but no one, even the oddsmakers did not give much of a chance. it was an amazing defensive battle. some people said what a boring game because it was not high- scoring. but it was an amazing super bowl. >> i am happy for peyton manning if this indeed his last game which it seems it will be out that way. but he has been incredible.
11:35 pm
>> time to go back to charlotte. >> about a minute ago the fans were honking and got to say that watching the game with the fans tonight, it was one wave of emotion. they were confident and they fell behind and they were still confident but when they managed to score than - - that last touchdown, you could feel it in the air. let's look at what they had to
11:36 pm
>> awful, depressing, disappointing, sad, unfathomable. >> i thought we were going to kill. this game was not what i was expecting at all. >> depression, that is all i've got. it sucks. i thought it was going to be the best battle. but no. cam newton cannot carry them himself. >> we thought it was looking good and at the end we could not take it, we left early. we could not watch. maybe next year. >> almost routine. cam newton cannot handle it. he got nervous. i mean he had more turnovers
11:37 pm
>> every fan that we spoke with tonight, practically everyone used the word devastated. they were stunned. it was not to be. >> losing is not fun, no question. but the sun will come up tomorrow. i will be okay. it is a game. >> let's go back to jeff bradley. jeff, i heard an interview with jim. he talked about one of his appearances with the buffalo bills and when they played the giants, no one gave them a chance. he never was able to win. it just made me think about what the panthers are going through. no one give them a chance but they still came out victorious. >> a lot of people felt like the panthers were the favorite.
11:38 pm
i talked to a lot of people. i felt they had to play out of character in order to lose and by golly, they did with seven sacks and four turnovers. short and to the point, they played better than we did. that is blunt. he was short in his press conference but he was one of those guys that took some knocks tonight and i thought they were better offensive play. cam newton had to scramble and cam newman have the run. he was running the crossing routes.
11:39 pm
i sat up in section 203. >> they are saying different things tonight, first congratulating denver. obviously they say you cannot turn over four times and expect to have the victory on estates like this. >> they played and capitalized opportunities. we did not. that is why we lost. >> we just need to keep our composure, too many penalties, too many turnovers. we did not take control. >> it is just a golden game that you dream about. you dream about winning. >> if you want to show how uncharacteristic this performance was, look at mike.
11:40 pm
tonight. they got it back once and the other one went back to the broncos. it just shows you how it was not going their way tonight. jeff got back to you. >> those dropped passes, some of them were difficult. they would have been great catches. i don't think cam newton got enough help from his receivers. the panthers are coming home as losers. i will take home a couple of images here. josh norman sobbing uncontrollably on the bench with his head in his hands and shoulders shaking because you are never promised this opportunity. you never know if you will have another. they will be going back to try to get another super bowl.
11:41 pm
all done. i know you loved being on the field for this 50th super bowl. you got some grass for me and i mean grass from off of the field, stop laughing at me. i asked you to do some - - the same thing tonight, please. >> i will bring you some confetti and try to pick off some grass and bring it to you. jeff, thank you. >> i am already washing. great job, i will see you in a couple of days. >> our coverage continues. and we will take a look at denver where those celebrations
