chance, none of this looks like it's crippling. i was remembering, i was telling mike mays, when i was in salisbury, maryland before i came here, christmas of 1980, we have had a low of zero and 36 hours later it was raining. not that we are going to be down to zero. we could have something akin to that heading in to monday. let's start with what is going on now, we will progress in to the future down the road. i believe we are starting with the radar. there is the dual doppler 5000 showing the little snow flurry activity, moving or patches of it, moving from west to east, most of it is well east of the triangle area now. those areas east won't be dealing with this, for very long. temperatures at this hour are below freezing alreadies at roxboro and greensboro and asheboros south hill at freezing. everybody else in the mid and upper 30s, if we lock at the

6:14 pm
let's look at the upper level wind flow. lots of north westerly flow, lots of cold air, no big secret there. looks like a impulse is going the come along, you can see the intire polar vortex, this is the real one, not one that is talked about by people that like to give cold air and name. this is an actual entity we are looking at here, this is the core of the cold air over eastern canada, that sinks down in to northern new england and new york city could see temperatures close to zero, as we head towards sunday morning. the cold air begins to retreat, will it retreat quickly enough before the next system in the upper atmosphere comes along, if it comes in, early enough on monday, we could see frozen stuff for a while. now, odds are favoring it would go to rain for the primary part of the system monday night and in to tuesday. later next week, signs of a big warm p, a chance we could be
