utilities, prescriptions, and so much more. >> i saw elizabeth in the pictures. she will very busy tomorrow morning talking about this storm system that we have. >> right. and it could turn out to be a total flop. the -- if all you do is go off the latest computer model forecast, you would say nothing is going to happen, okay? but if that's all we did here, then we -- we're closely overpaid. last sunday, for instance, since saturday night leading up to that sunday event if all you did was go off the latest model forecast, you would have said it would have done nothing here sunday. but the satellite imaginary clearly showed something was going on and it slooet all the way back to wake county. but what i'm desperately looking for is some indication of some development going on and not seeing it. at least not at this point. it doesn't mean it won't happen. but it isn't if progress yet. let's go ahead and check out the sky cam over at the airport and we'll check the numbers out there at the official observing site. 28 with clear skies in the northeast wind at seven miles

the dew point temperature is eight. that gives us a relative humidity of 42% so the air is very, very dry. the system in the upper atmosphere is now moving across missouri and you might think this is the area of snow we're watching. more more than likely this will fall apart as it crosses the mountains. if we're going to get snow tomorrow, it's going to come from a different mechanism. it's going to be from this disturbance, interacting with a boundary and there's really sort ever a national front along the north carolina coast all winter long because of the gulf stream. it heats the air above it, so the air offshore is always warm, or most times, anyways. and then inland when we get these cold outbreaks, it's cold. so there's a natural boundary. that's why people in baltimore, washington, philadelphia, boston, new york, don't like us very much because we produce these things, wearily do they really give us all that much trouble but they create all sorts of trouble. so this low is likely to develop along the coast.

latest simulation here. the red line is the theoretical rain, snow line. the green is where we have moisture in the mid levels in the atmosphere. so we move this to about 1:00 tomorrow afternoon and there you can see the low, beginning to develop, there's plenty of mid level moisture but the question is, is it going to be able to wrap deep moisture all the way back into central north carolina to give us accumulating snow? and that is the real challenge right now to try to figure that out. it can't be ruled out. it just doesn't look like it's a real good pocket at this point in time. the father north and east you go and the more proximity you have to the atlantic and the moisture incoming there, the better the chances are. now, once this system moves on by, then it's simply an influx of cold air. look at all the a sew bars bringing all the cold air down here, saturday and sunday, but it will be dry. then late sunday we start to see the first signs of increasing moisture from the next system and you would think, with some of the coldest temperatures we've seen this entire winter,

sunday and sunday night, that the next system would have to be mainly frozen right? okay. let's take a look at this on monday. storm begins to develop out in here, look, by 1:00 monday, the theoretical snow rain line is already north of us. and then this thing starts to crank. it goes up across central north carolina. that is the kiss of death. if you're a snow lover, that's the worst possible track you could possibly hope for and so -- or not hope. and so we're going to warm up big time on monday and it's going to rain. okay? here are the advisories for tomorrow. again, the chance of some minor accumulation is here. and again, if you see it starting to snow when you're at work, don't leave. stay put and then wait for this thing to play itself out and everything will be fine. the worst thing this the world you could do is get out on the road, compact this stuff and turn it into ice. all right overnight tonight, clouds increasing late and then tomorrow a period of light snow or flurries possible from mid to late morning into the early afternoon.

possible, but it doesn't look like a big deal. oops i hit the button one too many times. the there we go. weekend, dry, sunny, very cold. and then some frozen precipitation to start monday, but it's going to go to rain, no question about it. >> thank you. >> all right. greg. >> we're back after this. 0 let's turn now to the carolina cash five. if no one matches all five
