then it transitions over to rain. monday night, we could be looking at an inch or two inches of rain. maybe a few thunderstorms before it all ends on tuesday. the first part of the day. a lot of wild stuff coming up. 34 was the high. 30 right now. dew point two below. we are all in the 30s soon to be in the 20s . the broader view, 20s already showing up in rock hill. 32 in goldsboro. the front that came through last night bringing the arctic air is already into florida high pressure seated over iowa funneling the cold dare down from iowa. that will be the case tonight. monday, we will call this a two- part system. this will come in producing light precipitation. an then the second heart will be heavy rain that comes in monday and into the first part

so let's take a look at the futurecast. all is quiet. overnight is quiet too. tomorrow morning we will wake cloudy skies. and becoming mostly cloudy during the day. a lot of thick upper level clouds ahead of the system that will be us through the day tomorrow. it stays cold with low to mid 30s for highs. not much wind. now, by the end of the day, snow starts to make its way into the morn mountains. by midnight, some of our northern counties could be looking at some light snow. hence, from northern counties in southern virginia. the winter storm watch starts at midnight. for the rest of us it starts 6:00 a.m. 4:00 a.m., light snow. light freezing rain. as we go through the morning, light snow. light freezing rain. it is warmer air aloft that really rushes in. it will be a brief round of snow. the majority of what we will see is light freezing rain and sleet. there is 8:00 a.m. by lunchtime. it starts to retreat as the warmer air come ins and the moisture will be limited.

of us seeing rain. a small portion seeing freezing rain. in the evening and overnight monday, we start to see some ever of the heavier rain come on in. it will be rainy monday night and tuesday. if we break all of this down, this is what we expect through monday evening. a trace to a tenth of an inch. a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch. the north and west, heavier mountains. but this isn't a whole lot of frozen precipitation. it is mainly freezing rain. it is not enough to bring power outages so keep that in mind, but we will start off in the 20s in the morning with the commute. tonight at 8:00, 25, clear skies. then tomorrow morning as we start the day, we are looking at low to mid teens 15 in raleigh. 13 in southern pines. tomorrow, as we go into the morning, by 8:00 a.m., we expect temperatures to run in the 20s and tomorrow afternoon, umer 20s to mid 30s . 33 in raleigh. 34 in fayetteville with a mostly cloudy sky.
