be a different feeling than tomorrow. let's start with the sky cam, this time, rdu airport. that's where the official observation is taken. that fits, 46 degrees now, with the north wind at 7 miles per hour, the air is dry, the dew point sitting 19, that gives us a relative humidity of 34%, pressure rather unimpressive and unexciting at 30.12, 39 roxboro. everybody else 40 or a little bit higher, as we look south, we got 40s for the most part here, warrenburg, the outlier, 50 degrees. hanging onto the mild conditions more than everybody else. if we look at the enhanced satellite view, the satellite is sensing the temperature of whatever it is looking at. if it sees to the ground, it senses that, if it can get down to clouds, senses the temperature of the top of that. if you look at the area that's clear here, over north carolina, mostly clear today, you can see it start with a

up as the temperatures warm during the course of the day. this is a disturbance in the upper atmosphere, racing across us and imiffing us partly cloudy skies -- giving us partly cloudy skies and no precipitation. let's look at the upper air flow for the next week, the associated temperatures, see what we got. see bend in the line, or the lines, plural, that's the little system in e upper atmosphere, coming across late tonight and once that goes on by, that will begin to open the flood gates for the milder air sitting in the plains to make progress eastward, our temperatures should take a jump on sunday in to the 60s, once they get to the 60s, they should stay theres for several days. there is plenty of cold air up here in canada, sort of looking for an excuse to come southward. we don't see immediate sign of it doing that. we have a couple of disturbances to watch the terms
6:19 pm
you see the lines dipping in the east will give us showers on wednesday, some colder air beginning to come in behind that and another disturbance, giving us a cold rain as we head towards the end of the week and back in the mountains maybe cold enough to get snow out of that, that's several days away and not worth speculating too much about at this point. 8:00 this evening, down to 38, mostly clear skieses on the chilly side. if you are headed out this evening, make sure you have a jacket or a coat. 27 for the low late tonight. you are probably going to be looking at frost delays on the golf courses tomorrow morning just in case that happens to be an issue for you. i wouldn't know anything about that. tomorrow, back to mostly sunny skies and temperatures getting up in to the low 50s. slightly higher than it was today. nothing dramatic. more dramatic changes on sunday, as you can see, 65, on sundays, with lots and lots of

monday, it approaches 70, 68 is what we think is likely that day, 71 on tuesday. it does start to turn cooler next week, with a couple of chances for rain wednesday and friday. friday could be a raw day. 7 days out, who knows. >> enjoy the warmth in the meantime. >> great weekend coming up. >> the nbc nightly news theme written by john williams. >> that's right. things we didn't know, things we do know. acc reviewed and spoken about the trip by grayson allen. marcus page is winding down the
