take a look at the top races. >> reporter: it was yesterday, i should say. hillary clinton won the state 55% to bernie sanders who had 41%. if we look closer, we can see where those votes came in for these two. sorry about that, guys. there we go. think this is really interesting. anyway, moving ahead, bernie sanders had a lot of votes in the western part of the state. he also won orange county, new hanover county and dare county. counties statewide. on the republican side, you can see donald trump took the vast majority of the counties in the state, but ted cruz with 37% actually did really well across the triad and triangle, some areas in the east and a stretch around asheville in the west. he came in at 37% in north carolina to donald trumps 40%. looking ahead at other races

nomination, incumbent richard burr, defeated his challenger. on the democratic side, the winner was deborah ross by a large martian who defeated -- margin who defeated others for that nomination. looking at the gubernatorial races, roy cooper, incumbent, easily defeating can spalding on the republican side, and of course, pat mccrory easily reading his opponents. on the democratic race for the lieutenant governor, this was going to be a tight one but did not end up being tied at all in the end. linda coleman who ran in 2012 against incumbent republican dan forrest will get a matchup. she won 51% of the vote over challengers. today is the beginning of the special primary for u.s. house

but, i saw the yellow haze on the hood of my car. tree pollen has been high for the last couple of weeks but a lot of those days it was cyprus, elm, and cedar. this week it has gone to oak and pine, that yellow pollen is starting to make its presence known out there. boy, it makes a mess. i need to bring my cushions in from my outdoor furniture. here is what is happening with weather, we have a cold front reaching out, but behind it much cooler. temperatures are about 10 degrees cooler, that's what we will see tomorrow. a drop in the temperature. it will be a beautiful day, but it will be noticeably cooler. as that front moves across, there will be a pound of cloud cover, some computer models want to show the potential for isolated shower or thunderstorm, maybe some severe weather to the north and east. futurecast continues to insist it will be all dry.
