airport, 51 in fayetteville, 36 in boone, i am morning the early loss of our ski season, however i did take a peek at the ski resort and because the temperature was well below freezing they were plowing snow up there like crazy. i think this is the last weekend for some ski resorts up around the boone area but they were not giving up without a fight. they were making a ton of snow. 53 degrees in wilmington, 47 at hatteras, 49 degrees in elizabeth city. we were talking about the wind, we have winds study out of the northwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. gusts up to 17 in raleigh, 24 in fayetteville, 37 in boone. gusting to 28 in asheville, and the winds are not gusting in wilmington, that's what you see that blank spot. of course, pollen is a big story this time of year. we have gotten into the pollen season and from here it will get worse before it gets better. last week it started to get cranked up and as temperatures warm up this week, we will

we have to get to that period of clouds going by through the parking lot before it gets any better. we have not quite gotten to that level yet. but certainly, the pollen count is high for trees, and is predominantly oak and pine. it is the pine trees that make the yellow pine pollen that makes such a mess everywhere. satellite and radar picture looking very quiet. we have that high pressure system well to the west, clockwise flow around it. wind is coming out of the northwest, making it feel very chilly even though it is sunny. that chilly air means that it is going to cause some issues this morning for some people. we had 12 days in a row of temperatures above freezing. i think everybody settles into the fact that spring was here but our average latest freeze is still several weeks away. it's not unusual for us to have freezing temperatures still in late march and early april. frost advisory in effect for

tomorrow. temperatures dropped down to near freezing. this is a look at the map of the average last spring. most of the area in blue is april 1 through the 11th. that is still a couple of weeks away. up in blue, april 11 through the 21st, still a while. there will be farmers out there looking to protect strawberries in particular. if you planted any tender plants, you may need to cover those up tonight. once you get past tonight, no problem for the next five days. 43 wednesday morning, 40s and 50s into the weekend for our morning lows. today, the chilly as day of the week by far, jumping into the low 60s to mid 70s. thursday. we get right back into some of that nice warm air. normal is 66 degrees for this time of year but it is pretty typical for us to have a really week. 88 is the record, 32 is the coldest high temperature. showers in the forecast on fray and sunday.
