the house and its owners made headlines two years ago, when a neighbor complained that the contemporary house didn't fit in with the neighborhood, and would hurt property values. marsha gordon and louis cherry moved in about a year ago, after a superior court judge ruled in their favor. wednesday, the court of appeals upheld that decision. for the first time, we are getting a look inside the modern home in the historic oakwood neighborhood. the owner shared these pictures with us. we posted a slideshow online... just look for this story on wral-dot- com. no charges will be filed against the driver of a daycare van who hit and lled a goldsboro teacher. brandon kincaid died after he was hit in the parking lot at meadow lane elementary school. the 28-year-old was in his wheel-chair at the time. he taught second grade at the school.. and was described as a very caring teacher who was dearly loved. a wake forest man charged with killing his wife last fall says he did it while trying to steal her debit card. that's according to search warrants.

plastic bag over her head last fall. her husband, lanson stalf, told investigators he broke into autrys home by throwing a rock through the window. he strangled her with a wire used to hang a picture in the home while trying to get the pin from her. stalf was found three days later in mississippi. ree days later in mississippi. authorities believe the vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and- run in garner was used as a cab. 22-year-old kayla higgins was found february 7th on highway 70 at yeargan road. according to court documents -- the vehicle was a 2005 dodge caravan owned by mohamed dwedari. investigators say the van was used as a cab in raleigh, and has damage consistent with evidence left at the scene. they've requested a search rat or electronic devices used by dwedari during the time of the accident. tonight in our cover story...a raleigh man convicted of murder is now in a fight for his life. travion smith was found guilty

a mother in her north hills apartment. wral's lamb tells us....now a jury will choose between life and death. the same jury who convicted travion smith of murder, will now decide if he lives or dies. lissa huggins- jones was found beaten and stabbed in her north raleigh apartment in may 2013 by her then 8- year-old daughter hannah jones. the child took the stand as her loved ones watched. e described her mother- "she was very funny. she would always make you have a smile on your face. she was very giving and loving to everyone she knew" hannah testified she slept near a loud fan in her room at the apartment, but that she did hear something the night of the murder. "i heard a screaming noise and went back to sleep," hannah said. "it didn't sound like it was in our apartment." when hannah woke up she went straight to her mother's room. "i walked into the room and saw she wasn't alive, so i went

e office." hannah testified. hannah got help from some construction workers at the apartment complex. as her grandparents and father looked on, hannah told the prosecutor what she would miss most about her mother.
