family of walter scott and alton sterling. amanda lamb joining us live from outside the home where a press conference just wrapped up. >> reporter: it was very emotional. bamberg joined the family outside their town home here in north raleigh and they are calling for justice. now, his mother, simone butler thomas, says her sons with a good boy. he dp dress like a hoodlum. he didn't own a gun. he had a high school degree and a job. sunday morning, she says he was wi walking down the street. a man would lived -- who lived in the neighbor according to investigators called 911 to complain about the commotion and fired his shotgun through a garage door window that. shotgun blast hit and killed thomas. the home owner in that situation, chad copley, is in jail and charged with murder. >> he was a good kid. i don't have him no more.

national institute of allergy an infectious diseases will address the public in washington d.c. regarding the zika virus. there are now 22 of those cases in florida. in north carolina, health officials say the risk of zika is very low. the mosquito that carries the virus hasn't been found in our state. low income residents in arkansas and kentucky which expanded medicaid insurance to everyone under the affordable care act are healthier than low income people in texas medicaid was not expanded. researchers found that low income people in kentucky and arkansas were 5% more likely to report they were in god health than people in texas. experts say expanding medicaid increased the use of outpatient services, preventive care and reduced emergency room visits. today, the dea expected to announce that it will not approve the use of marijuana for medical purposes. the agency says its therapeutic value has not been
