25 years has died. luebke was diagnosed with lymphoma a year ago but he benefited from treatment and was able to continue working in the general assembly and teach sociology at unc greensboro. a spokesman says he had a recent sudden return of his cancer. representative luebke passed away last night. he was 70. tributes are already powering in. governor pat mccrory issuing this statement, saying represent luebke was whose career reflected his undeniably passion for serving his district and north carolina. she writes, we are deeply saddened to hear of the passing. representative paul luebke. he devoted his life and career to educating and serving others. this is a huge loss for the state of north carolina and our thoughts and prayers are with paul's family, he will be missed. luebke was running for

accident. a mother's charged with driving while impaired in a crash that injured 17 people, including her baby and a 90-year-old grandmother. this happened this morning in stokesdale. state troopers say ms. shaffer was driving her suv the wrong way on highway 158 when they slammed into a church van. all 15 people were hurt. shaffer herself was seriously hurt. her 1-month-old baby suffered only minor injuries, though. the van was travelling from virginia to salisbury, carolina. police in charlotte say a pizza restaurant employee shot and killed one of three armed robbers. this all happened in a pizza hut near i-85 while the restaurant was closed early this morning. detectives say three people were in the process of robbing the store when one of the employees pulled out his personal handgun and shot one of them. police recovered a handgun that was carried by a person who was killed. they're still looking for the other two suspects who ran away. jurors are being chosen this week in two separate deadly

another driver in a wrong-way crash on the beltline could face more charges. carlo gonzalez appeared in court tuesday -- charged with felony death by motor vehicle and dwi. the judge also revealed in court that gonzalez is being held on an immigration detainer. court records show the 40-year-old has pleaded guilty several times - to driving without a license. if convicted on the latest charges he faces up to 17 years in prison, and possible deportation. he is being held on a $200,000 bond is due one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. and one group is taking a silent stand to end the cycle. the wake county domestic violence task force held a multi-county rally and silent march wednesday. many people brought signs...some shared their personal stories of abuse, or talked about loved ones - lost to domestic violence. stephen puryear's daughter britny was shot to death by her boyfriend, who is also the father of her child. he told us, he now knows the signs of

next year's aca plans is 24.3 percent. that sounds huge, right? it is, but it does not take into account federal subsidies-- think of them as credit from the federal government that reduces your premium. as premiums increase, so does the subsidy. here's the big picture, according to blue cross blue shield: -- 90 percent of people buying a plan from the aca marketplace will qualify for a some kind of subsidy. -- and according to blue cross blue shield nc, 72 percent of its aca customers will pay the same -- or less next year, than what they're paying in 2016. examples. a family of four in wake county, with an income of 55-thousand dollars... bought a 2016 silver plan. before the subsidy, it costs 1,197 per month. a similar plan for next year will cost them about 1500 dollars a month. when you factor in the subsidy, the family is paying 337.28 a month. in 2017, they'd be paying 337.68 a month. not much of an
