both the goldsberg police department and the city's fire department are investigating the cause too early to say whether it was accidental or something else. >> gotcha. >> thanks. a pedestrian struck by a car on hammon road in raleigh's in critical condition tonight. according to the police report 44-year-old angel chavez was hit by the car near rush street. chavez was taken to wake med hospital with injuries. investigators say 29-year-old keith holeman was behind the wheel. at this point police do not suspect drurs or alcohol and so far that driver is not facing charges. >> police arrested 27-year-old christopher parenella. according to the arrest warrant police found sexually explicit videos of children between the ages of 4 and 11.

three communities hit hardest by the storms in the coming weeks. it will be held at fayetteville. another meeting is scheduled in greenville on november 30th. the committee will also meet in kingston on november 2nd. long term plans for communities devastated by the flooding. matthew cost two billion dollars in economic the fires have not grown much in size in the past 24 hours. roughly 730 firefighters 59 engines and six helicopters are fighting about 25,000 acres. a red flag warning remains in effect for this weekend for the western region. now this is video today from lake laurel resort cam. we've been monitoring throughout the weekend.

live from the raleigh news room with ken smith and kathryn brown. only wral news. the number of dead from this weekend's train crash in india continues rising tonight. at last count more than 115 people died.

from injuries tonight. rescue workers work through the night. investigators still don't know what caused the 14 cars to jump the crash. iraqi soldiers are closing in on the center of mosul. several hundred people fled the rubble from the front lines this weekend. a top commander says the offense against isis was slowed by suicide bombers and snipers and also expressed civilian casualties. >> toys 'r us pulling a popular toy off the shelves. on the way home it burst into flames and caught the real truck on fire. toys 'r us is not issuing an

macy's day thanksgiving parade. already in new york preparing for the parade. >> also the carry high school marching band was chosen to play in the 2016 parade. this is video from the announcement last year. the band heads to new york tonight. before the departure there's a big rally at carry high school at 8:00. wral's 28th annual coats for the children campaign kicked off today. >> you can gently used or new coats throughout december 31st. go to wral.com and search in key words coats. throughout the years we've helped raise about 150,000 coats for the salvation army and more than $1.6 million helping families.

amount was 4.16" but when you take a look at the number of days with varying thresholds of rainfall we actually had way more than the normal amount of light rainfall days. this is days with 1/100" or more. 3" more than normal there. so it probably was perceived as being a wet month even though the total amount was just about normal. now you go to october with matthew actually had less than the normal amount of days for .01 oor more or .050 or more. if we don't have any rain for the next ten days which is possible we would end up way below normal and this time it's consistent. of all of these different thresholds you see here at the

whatever you want to say. here's a look at the apex sky cam and things are moving along as you would expect them to on a sunday evening. the wind trying to die down a little bit. the dew point at 14 and that gives us a relative humidity at 6%. there's all the snow falling up here. you can s the individual plumes coming off the great lakes here. even this band of clouds here coming off lake michigan and extending all wex and for a -- west virginia and north carolina. and for the most part we stay there tomorrow so it's still going to be below normal tomorrow. we start to get the lines curving the other way here which means we've got some ridging going on and so temperatures are going to begin to moderate with the warmest weather probably occurring on thanksgiving.

and knocks temperatures down a little bit but nowhere near as much as what we're experiencing right now. so 7:00 this evening. 41 getting chilly fast and then late tonight down to 29 with still a bit of a breeze out there. so there will be a minimal wind chill when you get up if in the morning and then a high of 54 tomorrow. we hit 53 today. not much to choose from there. then as we take tuesday, 59 then we're into the 60s wednesday, thursday, and friday with again the warmest day probably be thanksgiving and if we see any rain during that entire period it might be in the form of an exciting sprinkle sometime on thanksgiving morning. >> we've got the turkey trot on thanksgiving morning as well. >> oh, okay. >> yeah, what are you doing an 8k. >> 8k. >> the weather won't be foul. >> nice.

duke playing its final game in the hall of fame tippoff in connecticut against a really good rhode island team. all three of the blue devil's highly rated freshman are out. grayson was only about 50% for this one. rhode island making it interesting for the first half. gets them within too late in the wurns. duke would lead duke pulling away. luke kinard on fire today. scores a team high 25 points. with another solid effort. 17 points 15 boards on his way to a double double. good passing leads to a wide open matt jones. duke wins at 75-65. they now head home. we'll play william and mary on tuesday. tonight will be the biggest test

northwestern 1-0 and the tar heels beat clemson 1-0. the quarter finals next weekend. you can buy tickets for next month's celebration bowl tomorrow starting at noon at the nc central eagles office. by beating north carolina ant they will play the wiber of the swak. that game will dome in atlanta. jeff gravley and the coach steve logan talked about earning a ring. >> and i don't care what level you're coaching or playing at to win a championship is a heck of an accomplishment. >> not only is it an accomplishment it's incredibly hard. i'll tell you one of the proudest achievements of my personal coaching career we went

getting ready for the big game. special olympics athletes from orange and wake counties teamed up with nc state and unc students to play in the unified plastic bag football game this afternoon on the unc campus. this is the first game of its kind and put on by special olympics north carolina. >> oh, this is fantastic. i mean you've got the college athletes here and our athletes special olympic athletes don't get that the community so they're having a blast. >> i had the honor of serving as the mc for this game. nc won in over time 12-6. >> the athletes look forward to that -- those events all the time. >> it was so much fun. glad to be out there. and thank you for joining us tonight. be sure to tune into our next newscast on fox 50 starting at 10:00. >> and come on back and join us
