this morning. i'm renee chou. >> i'm brian shrader and elizabeth gardner is in for herself this morning. >> we have some rain that we're dealing with. not so much right around the triangle area right at the moment. but we do have showers up and down the i-95 corridor, and then the northern county has showers. we're still seeing rain all the way back toward the mountains and we're going to have to see all this work through before we can call it done i think certainly by lunchtime we're finished with the rain. in some places it may be over a little earlier than that. here's our rdu skycam. that's a lot of cloud cover. just some beautiful contours there with the clouds. a little wet at the airport. you can see some showers coming through. it's a lot warmer than it was this time yesterday. 46 in wake forest, 50 in holy springs. 51 in fayetteville. you need a jacket but not the

if we had temperatures like yesterday with the precipitation, you know what would be happening. 8 a.m., about 50 degrees but cloudy with lingering showers. by lunchtime much of that should be over and by 4:00, peek at sunshine. tomorrow will be even warmer, but the clouds will linger. it will be interesting. we clear out over the weekend but temperatures begin to drop and i'll show you all of that and how it may affect weekend plans coming up. brian. elizabeth, we're following breaking news from china where people have been killed and others trapped in a scaffolding collapsed. two injured and at least one missing. a cooling tower is where it happened. china has suffered a series of major industrial actions in recent months blamed on corruption, disregards for safety and pressure for

car bomb attack in turkey. video footage shows that several cars in the parking lot caught fire after the blast. it also damaged the government building. authorities believe the attack was carried out by a woman. this is the latest in a string of deadly bombings that have rocked turkey for more than a year. the u. s. navy is warning that more than 130,000 sailors have been hacked and their names and social security numbers are in the hands of unauthorized individuals, navy. this involved a breach with a contractor's laptop. vice admiral says they take the breach very seriously. sailors will be notified over the next few weeks. some retailers in our state will not be making a profit during this holiday season. many hit hard by hurricane matthew are still cleaning up.

beside me. they are the youngest volunteers in the group and they've taken time out of their busy morning to talk with us. we're going to start with kate. what have you been up to and what are you going to do today? >> i've been here since 6:00 this morning and i'm going to help prepare food for the meals on wheels. >> reporter: that's about 400 meals. that's a lot of work. and tell me a little bit why you're here, casey. >> we're here to, like, help people that don't have, like, as like, we just want to come and help them, like --. >> reporter: absolutely. and the need is very, very critical. we have one more --. >> reporter: we'll have mashed potatoes, bred, and other baked goods. >> and last but not least the turkey. that's one much the best parts.

been cooking all night and they're at the final stages of the process here. they're going to cut those and put them on the tlas -- that these girls will be preparing and give them out. it starts around noon, that's when they'll be ready to serve. it's first come, first served basis and about 400 meals will be delivered by the hands of the volunteers. back to you. >> i can't wait to see how things are developing out there, our next report. emmy thank you. the raleigh rescue mission will deliver 800 meals to people in need. gobbles to go. people are delivering hot thanksgiving meals to those who may otherwise go hungry. staff and volunteers began preparing food on tuesday to make sure everything would be ready today. volunteers will also deliver a bag of groceries to help continue to feed the families through the weekend.

it's 7:10 now, and tens of thousands of passengers will move through rdu national airport. despite the crowds, last night things went pretty smoothly. airport officials urged passengers to arrive two hours before their flight and check for parking availability. also expect big crowds on sunday when all those people come back home. two places just about guaranteed to be busy airports and malls. ann ruben is in san josy -- san jose where people will get extra help. >> reporter: she will get extra help. robot cohorts have moved into the san jose international airport. they can take a selfie and send it to you, give you directions to shops, and even flirt and wink.

it's a little dreary here for the beginning of thanksgiving. a lot of folks are probably cooking or sleeping in, but i know a few folks are anxious to get out for the turkey trot. a lot of turkey trots around the area, starting at 8:00. we have still have clouds, patchy and light. the bulk is in the northern half. a tour around and around roen obamaing. there's a bit more where that came from. what's happening in the triangle is pretty quiet, just a little bit of drizzle and you see less rain south. a little bit of drizzle, sprinkles, not a whole lot happening there south of the triangle at the moment. we'll take a look at the wider view. loop this starting at about 3:15 this morning. that's about the time the rain started in the western part of

. good morning. it's 7:56. i'm brian shader with a lock at top local stories. the fbi is now investigating an officer-involved shooting lumberton. this happened at the dollar general on martin luther king drive. that person apparently also tried to run over the police officer in the process. suspect still is in the hospital. investigators say that a dish left unattended on the stove caused a deadly fire in raleigh. this is breaking news at this time yesterday. the 911 call came in around 5 a.m. yesterday about a fire at the reasonabling ency park apartment homes. the person was in the kitchen
