today." it's sunday, july 26th, 2009. we begin this morning with the weather. we want to get started with steve villanueva. >> some of these storms could be on the strong to possibly severe side with the biggest threat being hail and lots of gusty winds. here is what is happening right now. 73 degrees here in the beltway. 76 out in annapolis. 77 at pax river. and it's very humid out there. we did have a light few rain showers this morning, but the moisture pushed up towards pennsylvania. and there is a frontal band there, and that's bringing in the warm and muggy weather. we could have a round of thunderstorms by the afternoon hours. and temperatures are running

around 90 degrees. storm storms also possible tomorrow. >> thank you, steve. and we are learning more about the woman that was murdered. she was murdered sometime friday in her home business. this morning police are going through surveillance video in hopes of finding her killer. darcy spencer has the latest. >> reporter: the detectives spent the second night in a home where a woman was found dead friday afternoon. 53-year-o 53-year-old chung had been bound and stabbed in the bathroom of the home. she suffered trauma to the upper body. >> an autopsy was performed today. what can you tell us? >> this was a homicide.

the cause or manner of death at this point will be held just a little bit longer. >> she was a well-known and liked businesswoman in the community. members of the korean american association met saturday to discuss the crime. >> we wish help from the police. this is shocking to us. i hope this never happen again. >> sources tell news4 the victim was last seen alive earlier friday at the restaurant next door. she would often send her clients to eat and then go over later to pay the bill. they are hoping one of them may have captured the image of the killer. police are saying it will be a lengthy investigation. >> the crime scene investigators are collecting a lot of evidence. where we are in the investigation is something we are not prepared to talk about

at this time. as we head into the workweek, good news for drivers that use the traffic. and news4's michael flynn joins us on what drivers can expect. they have been dealing with a lot of traffic. >> yeah, work is set to start tomorrow night on work that will add relief to drivers that take cambridge as theonstruction ct continues. there will be a turning lane. outbound traffic from the district can make a right at 123 without waiting at red lights. the lack of a turning lane contributed to big back ups here. the project started at the beginning of june. since then one lane has been

coming uon 9:20. i am assuming, and i have not stepped out in a couple hours, but it's a little muggy out there. >> you assume correctly. that's going to be the trend for entire workweek probably. we have a southwesterly wind that will continue to stick around. we have a front heading our way today, and as the front moves across the area and taps into the moisture, we could see showers and thunderstorms in the mid to late afternoon hours. and some of these storms could be on the strong side and even will be hail and gusty winds. otherwise today, a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures climbing into 90 degrees in some spots.

here is what it looks like outside there this morning. the clouds will continue to slide off towards the south and towards the east as the front marchs towards the east coast. 73 right now, and a northwesterly flow. the dew point is on the high side at 67. and all is quiet on radar. a few light rain showers north of town. we did have rain earlier in the shenandoah valley, but that has dissipated and moved up towards pennsylvania. we have a front off to the west, and there it is producing storms and showers. as the front makes its way southward it will tap into the may stir ahead of it. we have a slight risk of seeing severe weather from basically north of the district out towards the eastern shore, and all the way up towards new england. 73 right now. and a bit cooler behind a front with temperatures in the 60s there. can you see the dew points are on the high side. they are in the upper 60s here

outside as we look down on the jefferson memorial. the sun is shining. we do have clouds out there, and we are seeing more sunshine south and east of town, and more clouds north and west of town. but the clouds will push into the area towards the south and towards the east. temperature wise, here is what is happening. 75 right now in the beltway. we are heading up to about 90 degrees. 71 out at dulles, and 64 currently in culpepper. and dew points are on the high side. it's muggy out there. this will be the trend for the next couple days, thanks to a southwest wind that will bring in moisture. temperatures up and down the east coast are in the 70s ahead of the front. cooler behind the front with temperatures there in the 60s. so we have a wave of lower pressure up in canada. this is swinging a frontal band towards the area. you can see the clouds and moisture associated with that front. as the front drops into the area, again, it does have the

chance of kicking up some severe weather. basically from the district northward up into maryland, out towards the eastern shore, and up towards new england. there is the front. it comes into the area later day. and showers and thunderstorms, and otherwise for the afternoon partly cloudy skies. and temperatures up to 90 degrees. overnight tonight things quiet down. and then tomorrow again with the daytime heating we could have another round of a shower or thundersrm. i think we have a better chance of seeing active weather today. and then things quiet down for tuesday and wednesday. and then another front that will look like this for the end of the week. so for today, partly to mostly cloudy. mostly humid. and some of the showersnd storms could be on the strong side. and temperatures around 90 dau breeze today. 6a chance of active weather. and tomorrow, a0% 6 4 chance. and temperatures still in the mid to upper 80s. likewise for tuesday and wey.dneses partly cloudy skies then and then another chance for storms

has to catch a shark. greg norman attacked the course in england yesterday tearing his way to the top of the leaderboard. and fred funk had the best score ever. and then at 11, the birdie to go. and then on the next hole, this is for bogey, and the ball rims out. and funk would tap in for double bogey, and he is still very much in it. he only trails by one stroke. as the shark, greg norman was in attack mode all day. his shot is perfect. he gets it nice and close to the hole and knock it in for birdie. speaking of birdies, here on 15, norman putting for one of them. that's one of the six birdies. he is 10 under par and leads the british open by one stroke going
