so crews can install an overhead sign. traffic will be detoured to huntington avenue. those lanes will remain closed until sunday. this morning there's possible health scares looming on capitol hill. senators and staffers have been notified about a possible swipe flu contamination among pages. >> pages work closely with senators on floors. news4 tcee wilkins is here with more. >> reporter: five pages out of a total of 50 have been isolated from lawmakers. other staffers are demonstrating flu-like symptoms, possibly the swine flu. senators were sent a message here alerting them of the issue. he said that five pages are exhibiting an elevated temperature and causing a sore roat. most likely the h1n1 virus or

swine flu is causing this. the test won't confirm it and won't alter the treatment. the pages are resting comfortably away from their piers. they work on capitol hill during the summer. they say this is a good opportunity to remind lawmakers to make sure that they and their staff are prepared for if upcoming season and the possibility of having to work at home if it gets too bad. i'm tracey will kips, wilkins, back to you. . one person is seriously injur in an apparent robbery and shooting in waldorf. police say two men were standing outside when two other men approached them and demanded money. the victims put up something of a fight and one one shot. the man was taken on to the hospit and is listed in

critical condition this morning. ments today friends and loved ones say good-bye to a teenager girl killed in a violent crash with a sheriff's deputy. it happened last friday in dunkirk, maryland. rachel campbell was turning left on a very steep hill. the deputy was responding to a 9 is 1 call and came over the hill with lights and sirens and brig sided her. >> she went to trial for state trooper and was telling me all about it. >> she dies in a crash involving one of the sheriff's deputies. >> i know. that's the most ironic thing about the whole thing. >> sad. >> the other man involved in the accident was critically injured but released on sunday. : plans are not in line with what the president wants.

shot. the message of the sergeant of arms says the five summer pages have potential cases of swipe flu. the pages work closely with senators on the floor with aids in click rooms and offices. president obama takes a sales pitch for health care reform on the road today heading to raleigh, north carolina, and bristol, virginia, for town hall meetings. meanwhile, committees on capitol hill are working on compromised plans for reform. breaking news this morning out of germantown. a police-involved shooting in a residential neighborhood on eagles nest. megan mcgrath just arrived on the scene. what's going on here? >> reporter: this is a police-involved shooting that happened at an apartment complex on eagle's nest court. two montgomery police officers fired their weapons in this incident and they were responding to a 911 disconnect

call. an adult male is dead on the scene. he was armed with a gun and a knife. we don't know if he was shot by the officers or someone else. that's still under investigation, but at least the police officers are responding to the disconnected 911 call and they did fire their weapons. this unfolded around 2:40 when someone from the wearing station neighborhood called 9 is 911 and hung up. it is routine to dispatch officers when there's a hang-up call. they called for backup after arriving on the scene. addional officers arrived to find the man dead inside the apartment. he was suffering from a gunshot wound. we are told that a gun and knife were found next to the man's body. one of the two officers fired their service weapons. again, the man died here on the

scene. they are trying to piece together exactly who fired what shots, what shots made impact and all that. it is very early in this investigation. both responding officers are on administrative leave at this point. you can see behind me that officers are on the scene investigating. we have one person dead, two montgomery police officers who fired weapons. they are on administrative leave. we just got more information here on the scene, so we'll bring it to you later. >> thank you, megan. now virginia governor tim kaine says he'll review a report of the massacre. student gunman sun cho went on a shooting spree in september. his missing mental health records were found in the home of the former director of the university's counseling center. a group of survivors and victim's parents are asking for the state investigation to be

reopened now citing inaccuracies and omissions in the report. now to the latest on the investigation surrounding michael jackson's death. fbi agents are now searching the medical office belonging to his personal dtor. they are looking for evidence that dr. conrad murray may have committed manslaughter. this is the second time they have gone through this place. murray gave jackson a strong drug the morning he died. >> was this a situation that occurred one time or is it something that doctor murray prescribes on a regular basis? >> dr. murray hasn't been named as a suspect. the medical examiners are awaiting a toxicology report before determining the cause of death. more fallout in the huge corruption bust in new jersey. now the mayor of secaukus

right now. there is still some darkness and clouds above the nation's capitol. we have 77 muggy degrees right now. we could get some storms, so we ought to go to the storm center. >> let's do that with chuck bell up there right now. tell us what's happening. what's happening is the first little area of light rain showers moving through the metropolitan area, especially the western and now northern suburbs. most of montgomery county moving into frederick county along 270 getting in on the rain showers. light rain has fallen across much of fairfax county and now it is moving into the city of manassas. westbound on i-66 near front royal, light showers are up near the shenandoah valley. temperatures, as we mentioned, it really feels steamy and stuffy outside with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s in the predawn hoursle. highs are in the lower 80s. the rain showers are likely. we have a round of light

floor in clip rooms and offices. christie, what can you tell us? >> reporter: there's a class of 50 pages right now, five of them have been isolated because they have been demonstrating flu-like symptoms, possibly the swine flu. now, senators were sent a message from the senate sergeant at arms tarrance gainer who said the five pages talk about the elevated temperature, sore throat and cough the others are suffering from. this could be the swipe flu. the cases have not been confirmed. the tests are too uncomfortable and will alter necessary treatment. the sick pages are "resting comfortably apart from their piers." their wages are typically high school juniors, they work during the school and also the summer. this is a good reminder for the senate and also staffers as well

one thunderstorm went south of indianapolis early this morning. that is now gone, but it remains an extremely good start. 1/3 has fallen for maryland so far. the rainfall amounts in the first patch of rain have been light. we'll show you where the light sprinkles and showers are right now. one little clump here in southwest washington into prince george's county on the north side of andrew's air force base. also, interstate 66, falls church and the city of fairfax county near burke north of dale city, a couple sprinkles there. into the loudoun county area, a couple raindrops in the area. also a couple blue ridge showers around the area. we are all getting in on the

only one lane is open this morning as crews continue to replace guardrail damaged over the weekend. breaking news in montgomery county. right now police are on the scene of a police-involved shooting. the exact details of what happened are still unclear. but what we do know is one man was fend found dead. megan mcgrath is joining us here. she has more for us now. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. this is a police-involved shooting. we have one or two officers here who fired their service weapons in connection with this incident. we have an adult male on the scene and they are trying to figure out who fired the shot that killed this man, whether this was the shots fired by an offic officer. it is all dead as we speak.

this began at around 2:40 this morning. somebody called 911 from the warm-up station neighborhood and woke up. police were dispatched to the scene and routine when they have a 911 discount. the officers arrived and soon after called for additional backup. when the officers arrived on the scene, they found a man dead inside his aptment. he suffered from a gunshot wound and there was a knife next to the individual. one or fwobl of the officers responding. the initial officers fired their service weapons, but it is unclear whether or not those showe shower shots were fired togeth. >> shots were fired. we do not know which officer or whether or not both officers fired their service revolvers. deceased male believed to be an adult. next to his body was found a gun

and a knife. we do not yet know whether this male subject fired a weapon as well. >> reporter: both of the police officers who initially responded to this 911 disconnect, they have both been placed on administrative leave while they sort this out and try to figure out exactly what happens. both officers discharged their weapons in connection with this incident. we don't know much about the man dead inside his apartment. we don't know if he lives in the apartment or not. it is very early in the investigation. back to you. police are investigating a shooting an attempted robbery in waldorf on nike drive. police say two men were standing outside when two other men approached them and demanded money. officers say it appears they put up a fight.

friends and loved ones will say good-bye to a teenager girl involving a sheriff's deputy. it happened last friday in dunkirk friday. the deputy was responding to a 911 call. he came over the hill with lights and irons on and bride sided her car. some say it was camp bell's dream. >> she dies in a crash involving one of the sheriff's deputies. >> i know. that's the most ironic thing about the whole thing. it is sad. the deputy involved in the crash was critically injured but released from the hospital on sunday. well, it is a stunning fall from days after being arrested on drunk driving charges. alexandria's place chief has stepped down. david baker announces his

with cases like this. the cases for swine flu have not been confirmed as the test is too uncomfortable and won't alter necessary information for the patients. now, the pages are typically high school juniors who work on capitol hill during the school year and also the summer. the sergeant in arms is an opportunity to remind lawmakers they need to prepare themselves and their staff for the upcoming flu season. make sure you are also ready to get going if things move too quickly. a man was vacationing on north carolina's outer bank and was struck by lightning and killed. matthew was jogging along the shores monday night and found unconscious along the shoreline.

dead. it happened as a residential neighborhood. megan mcgrath has more for us. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. you can see the activity behind me here with police on the scene inside that apartment trying to piece together exactly what happened here. now, we do have some new information here this morning. we are told that the man who died, the dead man inside this apartment, lives in that apartment. they are also saying that they are not investigating the incident as a burglary, a domestic dispute or a suicide. police are saying that nobody else was involved, just this man who is dead inside the apartment and the two officers involved in the incident. this is being called a police-involved shooting. one, possibly two officers fired their weapons, one man is dead inside the apartment from an apparent gunshot wound. it began at 2:40 in the morning. a 911 call was placed from the apartment, but that person who called then hung up, so it was a
