welcome back to baltimore. the redskins in preseason game number one, 23-0 losers to the baltimore ravens. we've been talking i think all training camp about this young man sitting next to me, brian orakpo. gets his first taste of professional football in real live game action. what was going through your head out there? >> it was a whole bunch of stuff. i was getting my feet wet, like i said. being in this first nfl game, a

dream come true for me. i can put that to rest and play football. >> brian, what was the biggest thing you learned out there in your first nfl action? >> probably everybody is an ag let's. that's the most important thing i learned. everybody is good, you know, on this level. you really can't take that for granted. you have to be on top of your game each and every play and series. >> brian, had two tackles tonight. a couple of quarterback pressures. talking about the difference in quarterbacks, saying you're a sack guy. at least at texas you were. that's what you hoped to be on this level. you love playing against the big quarterbacks, because they're harder to get to. >> elusive guys are always the toughest guys. never want to go down. pocket pressure type guys, they'll go for the next play. the michael vicks and spring young, those type of guys are really difficult to play against. >> brian, bringing up michael vick, a guy he will probably see twice this year as he signs with

capturing it final moments. the small plane appears to hit from behind, sending pieces of debris flying as the two aircraft plunge into the river. just a few second. but perhaps, just when investigators need to figure out how two experienced pilots could have crashed on such a beautiful, clear day. >> the key here is that whatever took place in the cockpit of that piper aircraft was enough to distract the pilot and not allow him to see the helicopter as he intercepted its flight path.

awe the piper in a climbing turn before clipping the helicopter's rotors. the video shows the aftermath as boats race to the area finding no survivors. nine people were killed including five italian tourists. their coffins returned home to italy on thursday. a tragic end that has left many questioning the safety of that busy flight corridor along new york's hud sob river. that as late thursday the faa announced the controller of t the -- while the faaays there is no roone to believe that contributed to the crash, both have been put on administrative leave. as the investigation continues. hyattsville man who preyed on elderly women will spend his life in jail. a judge sentenced hem to life without parole. back in 2007, the 34-year-old

was behind a series of violent home invasions in montgomery county and targeted elderly women who lived ale, breaking into their houses and hogtying them before robbing them. some women were in court today. >> the only, only thing that -- aside from the death penalty. >> anything less would have put us all in jeopardy at a later date. and other people too. because he is the kind of an individual. if he had gotten out. i feel certainly wouldave come back on us for retaliation. >> one of the victim who did not live to testify, mary havenstein, garcia polara beat the 63-year-old to death in her bethesda home last september. breaking news in northeast d.c. police are investigating some sort of explosion inside a postal service mailbox. it happened inside a blue street corner mailbox,ed me street northeast. dc investigators on the scene.

marion barry. he joined d.c. mayor, at a basketball court dedication. >> cora masters-barry is an amazing contributor to the city. and i am sure that this is probably some legal or technical issue that will be resolved. >> he referred questions to d.c. attorney general peter nicoles. he told news 4 the notice stemmed from the fact that masters-barry charitable organization does not have a corporate status. she says it does. if there was a question. she is sure it could have been resolved short of an eviction notice. no one called. i haven't heard from any one. >> tennis center kidd and parents hope everything here stays the same. >> i really like it here. because we have fun playing tennis and play different games. and we learn different moves in tennis. >> in '08, cora maers-barry was inducted into the mid-atlantic tennis, education hall of fame.

38 yards. ten plays. two series. unable to get the redskins into the end zone for a tie though. the second team offense for the skins looking etty good. where we start in the second quarter. todd collins under center. getting some time here. looking over the middle. and hitting. 6'4", malcolm kelly stretches out. a sweet grab. three catches in the game. malcolm kelly. matching his season total. just before halftime though. the ravens after a turnover taking advantage. troy smith on the pump fake. kevin barns, the rookie corner out of maryland. and gets beaten badly for the score. justin harper hauls it in. gives the ravens a 13-0. halftime lead. 23-0, final here in baltimore. i feel look i said it 100 times. certainly not the way they wanted to start, starters played two series. one series on defense. jim zorn knows they have things to work on. not end of the world.

have access to the first chapter while the book is shipped out. hundreds of other college bookstores are also running trial rental programs. eating lots of fat may not make you fat it looks look it may make you stupid and lazy too. a new study on rats find eating ten days of a high fat diet caused short term memory loss and -- it made it tougher to exercise. the study is in the most recent edtion of fed ration of american societies for experimental biology. after nine days on a high fat diet, the rats took longer to complete a maze. the fatter rats had more of the protein in their system which

canadian woman fighting to keep her black tailed deer. she has had the animal since it was orphaned since birth. the two live together since five years. the deer sleeps in its own bed. the canadian government says keeping animals like the deer is illegal. that's all we've got. slou'l yee back here [ cheers and applause ]
