welcome back to fedexfield, everybody. dan hailey, lindsay czarniak and one of the stars of the game, second year tight end out of usc, fred davis. fred, after last week, we just had jason on, you we listening. it must have felt so good not just to cause that you fumble but to get in the end zone. >> i had to redeem myself, man. i had to get me at least two. i'm not -- i just knew i had to come out and make plays. that's what the coaches wanted me to do. put me in certain situations and that's what happened today. i did all right. >> fred, we saw the recovery also and then moving forward to when you got that touchdown. what was going through your mind when you got to the end zone on that play. >> oh, i hope he throws the ball because i seen the coverage break down. i seen the safety kind of jump. i was like please throw this because he's kind of short. >> you had that dance at the end. >> the sacky leg, is that what it's called. >> yeah. >> you look like you belong in

welcome back to fedexfield folks, dan hellie, lindsay czarniak and the quarterback of the night, chase daniel came in as the third quarterback in the game, his first professional game. said he was nervous for a couple of plays. man, you played great. >> thank you very much. you've got those nerves and once you get them out, just go out and play and put the ball and people on the offensive line had a great game. all ran the ball well with me. you've got to thank them, as well. >> chase, two touchdowns. what a relief it was for you when you were able to make that first completion. >> that's the main thing. once you make the first, you block out crowd noise and everything else. you just play the game like back in high school, backyard football and go through your reads. i still made a couple of mistakes. the numbers are good but i still have a long way to go getting

attach triggered a fire at an apartment complex this morning in the 1900 block of rochelle avenue in district heights. when firefighters arrived, flames were shooting from the top floor of the building. one firefighter was hurt. several families were displaced. damage is estimated at about ar lldos. dollars. olympic swiing star michael phelps is wearing a walking boot. you can see it right there in

that picture. he was hurt in a car accident just over a week ago. the boot covers his right foot and geese almost to his knee. the public got a look at it when he appeared in ui aqshe ll shaquille he will swim tce he will imce tswwissw a aars o'neal for shaq's new reality series. the swimmer says he has been training despite the ankle. many students will head back to school on monday. when they get there, they'll find a more welcoming environment thanks to volunteer who's fanned out at schools across the district today. they tidied up the grounds and buildings. 114 city schools are set to open monday, each spruced up by a group of volunteers. the school chancellor michelle reeth believes it makes a big difference. >> when i talk to kids about coming to school, one of the things they often say to me is that the environment that we create for them, the facility itself makes a big difference in their perception of their schooling. >> four d.c. schools were open today for students to get free

>> we saw lots of rain today. what about tomorrow. >> we got a boat load today. there's a chance for more tomorrow. good news. not going to be a repeat performance of your saturday. so a lot of folks are just about sick of the rain for a little while. here's a check outside. mostly cloudy saturday night in the tion's capital. 74 our current temperature. dewpoint still a steamy 71 with

a light northwestly wind. national airport 1.29 inches of rain, our rainiest day in over two months. last time we had more jas was june 3rd when we had 1.5 inch of rain. here's a check of live doppler across the area. not much coming on here in the district. a couple of showers down south of fredericksburg along i-95 and a few more showers up into portions of northeastern maryland. by and large, the lion's share of the rain is now pulling away from our area. so not much in the way of rain for us to worry about here for the rest of the evening. you can see the heavier rains now into portions of philadelphia, new york city and moving away. a little bit of a dry patch coming our way for much of the overnight hours. can't rule out a couple of passing showers, just about it for the rest of the evening. 72 down the road in richmond. plenty of clouds around. as the sky is trying to clear out by morning, may lead to

patchy dense fog. also on the weather maps and of great concern for folks on the eastern seaboard, hurricane bill. there's the islands, martha's win yard and nantucket. the storm is continuing to race into the north and northeast moving north-northeast at 22 miles per hour. still a category 1 hurricane. it's 195 miles southeast of nantucket. not going to make a u.s. landfall but may graze much of the canadian maritimes over the next 24 to 36 hours. we'll say good-bye to bill during the day tomorrow. for us tomorrow, we'll s ff with a few breaks of sunshine. that will destabilize the atmosphere and lead to a chance for showers and thunderstorms. more of the isolated to scattered variety tomorrow as opposed to to the widespread soakers we had today. improving weather moves our way on monday. tonight, mostly cloudy, foggy. mid 60s in the western suburbs to low 70s in town and by the
