jackson of minnesota. >> cris: matt leinart is you want me to take a knee? and show you what happens if you what is that? >> cris: take a knee? he is going shotgun. maybe they will let him throw one. >> al: he told us the other day. leinart really is coming along and has matured. baugh it's warner's team right now.

he gets to throw to fitzgerald they are lucky that favre pulled off what he did today. already having beaten them in the division. singletary has done a job transforming that franchise, >> al: tremendous. indianapolis colts go to 3-0 thought three weeks into the season the colts in the afc those are the facts, ma'am. wendy's postgame report is .
11:34 pm
suntrust. live solid. bank solid. >> al: welcome to the wendy's postgame report. here now, bob costas. >> impressive job by the indianapolis colts on a tough back-to-back on the road. they go to miami for a monday night affair and come back to indianapolis to regroup and on the road again and long trip to arizona sunday night affair and win both and take their record 3-0. meanwhile, andrea kremer on the field with, who else? peyton manning. andrea? >> andrea: thank you, bob. 501 yards of total offense tonight. you look surprised at that. what were you able to exploit in their defense spaem with rodgers-cromartie badly beaten
11:35 pm
on a couple of touchdowns? >> important to stay patient. you want to come out and take the crowd out of it on the road. our defense was doing that but we had three three and outs in a row and stayed patient and wanted to be aggressive and go three wide and spread them out and take our shots passing down the field. didn't hit them early but when it counted as the game went on. >> you said in friday's practice you call it a dog and pony show and draw plays up in the dirt. wretchy wayne's -- reggie wayne's one-handed catch you can't draw that up. >> he is capable of making those plays. when i threw it i thought i may have led him too much and he did a great job. the catch, in itself, was outstanding. the fact that he got in bounds. a lot of people catch that ball and go out of bounds and you say what a great catch but the fact he got his feet in and those are the plays we expect him to make that play got us going. >> andrea: you told me we're ill trying to find our identity in the run game and 122 yards on the ground tonight.
11:36 pm
what does that do for that? >> i thought was important and reason we hit the plays down the field i think because donald and joe were popping some runs and line was getting some push so it makes the defense play us more honestly and we're three dimensional drop action and play and run on second down. >> you are now third in nfl history with your 18th game with four or more touchdown passes. bob, back to you. >> let's shift it over to new york. tony dungy is standing by with rodney harrison. your assessment of your old quarterback and your old team tonight, tony? >> bob, i thought they played very well and peyton was absolutely correct. with patience. he didn't get off to a good start. but they just stayed in there and hammered away and played great. i thought the key to the game was the two arizona turnovers in the first half. that took points off the board and you can't fall behind this indianapolis team. that plays right into their hands. >> i'm looking at the cardinals
11:37 pm
and i see why did they draft beanie wells in the first round? they needed to come out and establish the run. you can't depend on kurt warner to come out and pass the ball over 50 times. mooends it's terrible. you cannot do that. >> indianapolis is not the type of team that you want to play one-dimensionally and you don't want to get into a throwing rain. mathis and freeney teed off in the second half and didn't give kurt warner any time and led to the score the way it turned out to be. indianapolis plays very well in september. they are hot and right where they should be. >> they looked good. >> they did look good. back to you, bob. >> all right. tony and rodney, thanks for staying up late with us on the east coast but not out here. before we turn things back to al and cris for their final thoughts, here is injury updates courtesy of our peter king. ladainian tomlinson did not play today for the chargers in their win over miami and listed as questionable for the sunday night game on nbc next week at pittsburgh.

now their schedule starts to get tough in the afc west. but in the afc north, you have baltimore now at 3-0. you have cincinnati at 2-1 and the world champions find themselves at 1-2 and, all of a sudden, this becomes a pretty huge game for the steelers next monday -- sunday. sorry about that! first time in four years i messed that up! >> cris: that's not bad. early for san diego and they've had such trouble with pittsburgh over the years in the playoffs and been knocking them out. so why not take care of business yourself? you know? because now you go in there and if you can knock them off there, maybe next time around you get them back in pittsburgh. so, you know, you have to jump on opportunities here and for san diego, this is a great opportunity. pittsburgh is a little down. make them pay for it. >> al: the other thing i think about, they don't meet all that much but that san diego/pittsburgh rivalry as it is. through the last few years they have played very memorable
11:41 pm
games. >> and for the pittsburgh steelers now, ben roethlisberger and the offense is going to have to start getting it going. so long now they have been able to rely on the defense but offensively, united kingdom make mistakes and can't have the big turnovers they had today and they have to start making plays on the offensive side. >> al: sunday night! it is sunday night! see you sunday night from steel town. final score here in the desert now is indianapolis 31 and arizona 10. "football night in america" next sunday night and until then, al michaels and cris collinsworth and andrea kremer and our entire crew saying good night from glendale, arizona. the colts go to 3-0. . -- captions by vitac -- www.vitac.com
