him down in oakland. it is a terrible crime that took the life of a father of three. derrick ward reports. >> reporter: 45-year-old zing horng ken was looking to make a career move. he had hined up an interview with google incorporated. but on sunday night, he was killed in downtown oakland as he prepared for what was to be a big day. he visited a friend to have his teeth cleaned. outside the dentist's office they were ak costed and he was shot and killed. >> the information we got it was a robbery that was taken placement we don't know if the robbers were able to steal any of the money before they shot the victim. >> i'm terribly shocked. >> reporter: neighbor john thomas has known kang and his family for years. >> gene was the nicest guy. nothing but good things to say

they found karen lost ton and her daughter. and two months later found dewitt and her daughter ebony. they thought the murders we s coincidental. the 27-year-old man is also in custody on federal gun charges and could be indicted with these murders next week. >> a former pastor is behind bars accused of having a sexual relationship with a teen. police arrested jason roy bolton in his home in dumb frees and say he began a relationship with a 17-year-old that turned sexual. he was a minister at the potomac crest baptist church and reseened in may. 30 men are off the streets of northern virginia. u.s. custom enforcement officers

custody on federal gun charges and could be indicted next week. police in california are searching for two men who gunned down a computer engineer, keng, of fairfax was interviewing for his dream job with google. the night before the interview, keng was shot by two men trying to rob him. he leaves behind a wife and three children. her alleged victim, her own father, patricia blevins poisoned her own father after they were evicted from their apartment. he died a short time later. an autopsy determined he had high levels of the generic form of the drug zoloft in his system. >> getting prescriptions from

pharmacies without the benefit of having a doctor prescribe them. one of those drugs was the one she was giving to her father. >> blevins and her father used to live in woodbridge. maryland's court of appeals will hear arguments whether an anne arundel county casino should be on the ballot this fall. appealing last month's decision by a circuit judge. the judge ruled the effort to block the casino through a public vote would violate the state constitution. if it was built, it would be maryland's largest. jack johnson is being sued by a homeowner's association who says he hasn't paid his dues. they are asking for $1500 in late assessments and legal fees for a property that johnson owns and rents out.

local police are on the hunt for marijuana. august is the prime month for harvest. officers with the maryland national capital park police showed the dangers the hunt can entail. >> reporter: local authorities are battling the war on drugs from the air, and the ground. this is a public park in montgomery county where marijuana growers have set up shop. >> this is being distributed throughout the county and throughout the metropolitan washington region to your friends and neighbors and maybe even your children. >> reporter: the maryland national capital park police has been scouring parks for the last 20 years seizing millions of dollars in pot. tonight our camera was granted exclusive access as armed undercover officers guided us through seneca park. this is what a grow site looks like, equipped with fencing, water and branches to disguise

the illegal activity. police were too late to confiscate plants here but from the air the chopper can look for more. >> straight lines in fencing, might be snow fencing. >> reporter: police confiscated 12 marijuana plants, worth $18,000. the site was armed with trip wires that police say can could be taken anything from fish hooks to bells and even explosives. >> a lot of grow sites are book by trapped because they want to tell they've been discovered. this could potentially be dangerous to park patrons an they are pets. >> reporter: they typically plant in groups of three. the first is for their own personal use, the second one they want police to find it. the third site, that's the one that will go out on the street. as expected after about a half mile walk we found the third

site. it's not easy to catch the planters, if it takes stake-outs that last days, they'll do it so drugs are kept off the street. >> some of the families of those killed in the plane crash last year are urging congress to pass legislation they say would keep the sky safer. continental flight 3407 crashed last february near buffalo killing all 39 people on board. today some of those victims' families will join chris lee to push for the passage of the faa reauthorization bill. it will increase safety standards in pilot training. a passenger on an american airlines flight noticed something wasn't quite right. took this picture of a piece of wing peeling back mid flight. the man alerted the flight attendant but the flight kept going.

in the killings which took place in larg go in january and march of last year. tracee wilkins is live with details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, eun. police are calling this the double double case. they are saying in addition to the murders of these two mothers and their daughters, they are thinking this person was responsible for a fifth murder and saying now they know who did it. they call it the double-double case because two mothers in both cases were nurses aej both daughters were teenagers both killed within two months in the same neighborhood. the suspect hasn't been named because this case heads to grand jury next week. sources close to the case say he's 27 and has a college degree and in jail on unrelated gun charges. in january of last year, karen

losten and her daughter were found and then dolores dewitt and her 14-year-old daughter ebony were found burned to death in an abandoned home. police say there was a fifth member in january of 2008. a woman was found killed and her home burned. they believe that that murder was also connected to this suspect. again, we're expecting for police to release the name of the suspect as soon as the person makes their way into a grnd jury. they are expecting this case -- that he will be indicted and charges will be formal. tracee wilkins, back to you in the studio. >> now to the disaster in the gulf. this morning there is oil and gas leaking out of that well. it's just a small amount and not enough for officials to stop testing on the new cap system. for now the cap remains closed as they watch for bigger leaks.

after one day, the service ran its inaugural trip yesterday but their ended up being more riders that be could fit on the train. here's more with what vre is doing for passengers today. >> reporter: good morning, eun. vre was hopeful that the new express train service from fredericksburg to union station would be popular, but they got more than they bargained for. there were so many people who wanted to ride the new train, they didn't have enough seats. 100 people actually had to stand on the first day in service. the three-car train carried 424 passengers and was completely full by the third stop. vre is adding another car. it's going from a three-car train to a four-car train and they will now have 570 seats. they hope that's going to alleviate the crowding. they are going to continue to monitor things as well. they say there's a possibility

george's county police know who did it. the potential suspect has not been named because he has not been charged. but sources say he's 27 years old and lived in the neighborhood and has a college degree. he's in jail on unrelated federal drug convictions and has not been charged in what police are calling the double-double murders. officials charges are expected. last year a nurse and her teenage daughter were found shot to death inside their home in largo. the victims were 44-year-old karen lofton and clarissa. march 14th, there was a car fire in the vacant lot of a largo home and burning inside were the remains of another nurse and teenage daughter. police say someone had broken into their home and killed them, put the bodies in a stolen car and drove them to an empty house and set it on fire.

the most controversial topic however will be about bp's role in the release of the lockerbie bomber, cameron has already said he sees the release as utterly wrong. >> i have no idea what bp did. i'm not responsible for bp. all i know as leader of the opposition, i couldn't be more clear i thought the decision to release al meg rahi was completely wrong. i saw no case whatsoever for releasing him from prison. al megrahi was supposedly released because he was near death from prostate cancer. he remains alive and there are reports his health is improving. over 60 foreign ministers will head to afghanistan for an aid conference. in return, they are promising to take more responsibility for security. secretary of state hillary clinton will be attending that meeting. the united states has by far the largest stake in the country.

killed months and blocks apart. investigators believe one man was responsible for both crimes. tracee wilkins is live outside of prince george's county headquarters with the latest. >> reporter: good morning, this is a very uneasy and frightsening case for the families of these victims. originally prince george's county police brought in a profiler looking for two different killers and they didn't believe the cases were connected. now they are saying they have the suspect and they believe their killer is one man. two mothers also nurses and two teenage daughters killed in the same neighborhood two months apart. police call it the double-double. now after a year and a half of investigation it appears prince george's county police know who did it. the potential suspect has not been named yet because he has not been charged. but sources say he's 27 years

old and lived in the neighborhood and has a college degree. presently he's in jail on unrelated federal drug convictions, hasn't been charged in what police are calling the double-double murders. that goes to a grand jury next week and that's when official charges are expected. last year a nurse and teenage daughter were found shot to death inside their home in largo. the victims were 45-year-old karen lofton and her daughter clarissa. there was a car fire in the vacant home, burning inside were the remains of another nurse and teenage daughter. dlor res dewitt and 19-year-old ebony. someone broke into their home and killed them and put the bodies in a car and set it on fire. there is also a fifth murder, in june of 2008, a woman was found killed and burned in her home in bowie. sources say this potential

suspect could be linked to that case as well. >> the prosecutors are working closely with police, hoping of to have a quick indictment. i'm tracee wilkins, back to you. friends and framly are mourping the death of a fairfax man gunned down in california for a job interview. jing kang traveled to san francisco to travel for his dream job at google. the night before the interview he is gunned down in oakland. that shooting happened outside a dental hygienist office. neighbors were saddened by the news. >> nicest guy. nothing but really good things to say about him. >> this is completely shocking. i don't know what is going on. kmeetly unexpected.

>> kang leaves behind a wife and three children. a prince william county woman is facing murder charges, her victim was her father. paramedics found him at a hotel where they were staying. an autopsy determined he had high levels of generic form of the drug zoloft in his system. u.s. immigration and customs enforcement officers have just arrested 30 gang members and their associates in northern virginia. some of those taken into custody are thought to be part of the ms 13 mexican pride and south side logos gangs. assault and grand larceny are some of the charges. 29 of the 30 face deportation.

the department of youth rehabilitation services in the district has a brand-new director, at least for now. mayor fenty named d.c. attorney general hildem. he replaces mark shindler who talked to news 4 last week. they have been criticized in recent months after a series of high profile crimes involving teens who have been through the program or supervised. hildem will be watching over new beginnings as part of his job. prince george's county executive jack jackson is being sued by a homeowners association who says he has not claimed his dues. they were asking for $1500 in late assessments and legal fees for a property he owns and rents out. he claimed he always paid his dues and denies wrong doing.

vre is expanding the express train service from fredericksburg to union station, it was so popular, many riders couldn't fit on the train. megan mcgrath has more on what vre is doing today. >> reporter: good morning, eun. vre had hoped the new express train from fredericksburg to union station would be popular, but they had no idea how popular it would become. on monday the first day it was in service, there were so many people who wanted to ride, they ran out of seats. 100 people had to stand during

their trip. the three-car train carried 425 passengers. the train was completely full by the third stop in brook. now vre is adding another car to the train so instead of a three-car train it is going to be a four-car train. it will have capacity of 570 seats. they are hoping that's going to help out with the situation that they can accommodate everybody and no one will need to stand. they are going to continue evaluate the situation as well. they'll keep an eye on the numbers and crowding. if they need to, they can add additional cars to the train as well. csx yesterday had problems with a switch that caused the trains to have to run 12 miles an hour through a ten-mile stretch of the system. that slowed things way down. that express train was an hour late.

cards, report a lost card or request a replacement card. a mobile version of the website is also available for iphone and blackberry users. today maryland's court of appeals will hear arguments whether plans for a casino should be on the ballot this fall. they are appealing last month's decision by an anne arundel county judge. the judge ruled the effort to block the casino would violate the state constitution. if the casino is built, it would be maryland's largest. there's another vote happening today in the senate judiciary committee, will vote on supreme court justice elena kagan. it was originally scheduled last week but delayed at the request of republicans. democrats hope to confirm kagan before the august recess. if approved, kagan will fill the
