the drone attack, his names kari husin and runs a training camp for suicide bombersp he is a top cia target because he is believed to be the mastermind on a cia post in afghanistan back in december. out west they're looking for a man from maryland who vanished in yellowstone park. he's 478 years old, lived in burtonsville. they found his abandoned car on sunday night. it was not near any of the hiking trails in the park. he was on a cross country trip. park ragers have been searching from the ground and in the air for him. so far they haven't found any clues. his family says he has no experience in hiking, camping or anhing to do with the woods. several homes in haymarket, virginia were burglarized. dozens of homes have be robbed in fairfax county. those burglaries are similar to the new cases in prince williams

county. darcy spencer is in prince william county with more. darcie? >> there have been 60 burglaries in fairfax county since august. police were thinking maybe the serial burglar took a break over the weekend but maybe not. police say they're investigating some burglaries with a lot of similarities. an ilusive serial burglar has been targeting homes in fairfax county over the last six weeks. lice are concerned he may have struck again. >> we're aware of the incidents that have happened in fairfax. we've beenn communication with fairfax, due to the short time frame that they occurred and up to this point we can't make a definite determination of a connection yet. >> four homes in this gated piedmo estates community in the haymarket area of prince william county were burglarized this week. police arelooking into the possibility that it w the work of a serial burglar who has broken into dozens of homes since august.

>> that would be a huge concern especially back in an area like this. it's highly -- this is a very unusual area for a burglary, because there's one way in, one way out. >> all four homes are on riding club ive. the burglaries happened in the overnight hours between sunday and monday. the burgr got in through unlocked doors and windows. in one case, he forced his way in through a side door. >> one of the families was home. and a pue was taken and some things, the other one, golf clubs and things were taken out of the car. >> working with the crime prevention unit toet the word out making sure resents are locking their doors, car doors, everything that has a lock needs to be looked. >> there are similarities between these four cases and burglaries in fairfax county. police believe one person is responsible for 84 incidents. he sneaks in through unlocked doors and windows, grabbing cash and purses.

said it was excessive force and it could not be justified. earlier this week, a man in sydney pulled two knives on the police. he was tasered and died. civil liberties groups there want tasers to be investigated. for three years, the soul survivor of a deadly home invasion in cnecticut has been seeking justice. and today he got it. one of the tw men chared in the triple murder in 20078 was convicted today. steven hayes is his name. he is now eligible for the deh penalty. hayes and joshua komisarjevsky bre into the house, terrorized the entire famil sent the wife to a bank to get money, raped and killed her, tied the two teenaged daughters to bed, poured gasoline on them and set the house on fire. william petit survived his wife and daughter disnot. >> there is some relief, but my

family is still gone. >> the sentencing phase o hayes trial will begin in two weeks now. komisarjevsky will go on trial next year on the same charges. >>a new study is pointing t pesticides as a possible obesity risk for babies. scientists in spain studied more than 500 pregnant women. those women who had dde in their blood were twice as likely to have babies who gained more weight as infants. according to studies, it can increase appetite and slow down metabolism. the pregnant women were mostly exposed to dde through the foods they ate. anyone who's ever had to deal with customer service on the phone can identify with a winchester virginia man. he was not happy about the way he was being treated. so he did something about it.

simulation that mimics striking a tree or utility pole. >> will recognize andreward vehicles with advanced saty technology like electronic stability control. lane departure warnings, and forward collision warning systems. >> and out of the first 33 vehicles tested in the new program, only twoarn the coveted five star rating. the bmw five series and the hydai sonata. the best selling toyota camera got three. in a statement, toyota pointed out its camry had done well under the previous system. engineers are investigating measures to further enhance safety performance so camry can again obtain outstanding results under the new rating system. for the first time ever, the new rating system uses smaller female crash test dummies.

laplata. you definitely needed to pull out the coats. i think you will need them again tomorrow morning as we continue on this cool trend. 56 in sterling, 55 in manassas. charlottesville, virginia at 56 degrees. this cool air mass is going to stick around, we also have winds out of the northwest at about 12 miles an hour. that makes 59 feel a l cooler, especially when ose winds are gusting upwards of 15 to 20 miles an hour, as they've been doing pretty much all day long. no rain to show you across the region. i think we're going to stay dry right on through the morning tomorrow. a slight chance of rain tomorrow afternoon as this area of w pressure continues to spin look at this spin. a very large upper level low continues to spin over the area. moisture making its way off the atlantic. moving across the western appalachians. tomorrow the area of low pressure moves off. i do expect it to make its way on i here. at least a slight chance of a shower.

here's that big cooldown as i mentioned to you yesterday. the big trough of low pressure in the jet stream, and the area of low pressure spinning here. that's what's created all the cool conditions and the cloud cover as well. look at the numbers. 48 right now in buffalo. pittsburgh is 46 degrees with light rain there. 59 in the district. you have to go way back to the west, omaha at 75 degrees. 70 in st. louis, and eventually this wmer air willtart to push into our region. first we have to get rid of these areas of low pressure. one at the surface, one at the upper levels. they will start to move out tomorrow. one more cool day, still a little breezy tomorrow, with a slight chance of a shower. there we go. the areas of low pressure come out of here, here comes high pressure sliding on in from the west. that is going to set us up for what i think could be a fantastic holiday weekd. columbus day weekend coming up, and right now it is looking very, very nice. tropics are turning active. this system has an 80% chance coming from the national

the d.c. government makes an unprecedented move to fight the city's rising hiv and aids infection rates. a staggering 1 in 20 people in d.c. is infected with hiv and aids. now city leaders have made

getting tested in the district as easy as renewing your driver's license. >> the city has partnered with a nonprofit to make this happen. >> the penn branch dmv is the first in the nation to offer the hiv testing program. >> we really based the need on the current statistics in the strict that show theincrease of hiv cases in wards 7 and 8 here in the district. i think it's the place where we need to try innovative programming like hiv testing in community sites like the dmv. >> we were not allowed to shoot inside the dmv because the hiv testing is confidential. it's quick and painful, because i asked to be given a test as a demonstration. >> you're given a lollipop sized swab and you wipe your gums all around your mouth. >> youring it out, put it in

people or more will be tested for hiv over the coming year. at the department of motorcycles in southeast washington, chris gordon, news 4. >> 75 people were tested during the first day of the pilot program. more than organizers anticipated in fact. if it's a success over the next year, hiv testing could be available at all the dmv's in the district and possibly in other states as well. police are trying to figure out who shot a man found near a virginia metro station last ght. police found the 32-year-old victim near a car at the huntington metro station about 10:30 last night. he was in the station bleeding from a gunshot wound from his lower body. a family member who was supposed to meet the victim called police when he didn't show up. it's not clear exactly when or where the victim was shot. >> right now we don't have a solid working theory, so all options are on the table. obviously, we're concerned that

there's a suspect out there, we need to be looking for. bu we also need to find out more abo why the victim was there, and what his circumstances are. >> the man who was shot is expected to survive. a terrible fire in fairfax last month. fire officials now know what started it. it was candles left unattended in that hou. a woman and her two sons were killed in the fire. neighbors told news 4 the family was using the candles to light their home because the power was turned off. four firefighters suffered minor injuries. there have now been ten fatal fires in fairfax county this year. officials with the u.s. agency for international development say exterminators are treating one of its offices for bed bugs today. the bugs were discovered last week in the ronald reagan building in downtown d.c. that's one of the largest and most secure federal buildings in the nation. bed bugs can trigger allergies

in some people. usai.d. say employees can return to the office four hours after the treatment is done. the d.c. city council approved a bill that would change guidelines for animal controofficers in e district. it would eliminate several lethal methods currently used to get rid of squirrels and raccoons that get into homes. mary chay says the bill would establish guidelines similar to other jurisdictions. >> it regulates people who deal with wildlife. they have to be licensed. >> we think the bill will limit consumer choice and dramatically increase the cost for consumers for paying for professional pest management services in the district. >> the humane protection does not extend to rats and mice. the council will take a final vote on the bill in a couple

weeks. a scare of some real wild animals in india. at least six people were injured on monday by a tiger that strayed into their village. the villagers rushed at the tiger with sticks in an effort to defend the village and chase the tiger away. in all the chaos, that tiger attacked six people. one of them was aild. officials tried to capture the tiger, but it went into the grasses. they still haven't found it. >> that's bad news. coming up, a special salute to the man who was the ultimate redskins fan. i'm not a wit, i'm nothing you've heard. i'm you. >> candidates across the country pushing for an image
