maryland. this happened yesterday morning at the intersection of aspen hill road and georgia avenue in aspen hill. the mother was pushing the 17-month-old in a stroller across the street when they were side swiped by an suv. the driver had a full green light. a nurse happened to be close by and perrmed cpr on the toddr. >> there was a baby laying in the middle of the intersection being attended to by a citizen. >> the by wt to the ground. was not breathing or moving. i started to give cpr. >> after a w seconds we got a pulse back. >> after the nurse performed cpr the child was taken to hospital. no charges have been filed against driver. the driver in a deadly hit-and-run accident in the district is out of jail this morning just hours after being arrested. 30-year-old jorida davidson facing manslaughter charges

after hittin kiela marie ryan. >> reporter: 30-year-old jorida davidson was wearing sunglasses when she left the d.c. courthouse in the mpany of a lawyer a family members. 14 hours after she turned herself in at a police station. >> do you have a comment, miss davidson? sir, do you have any comment as her attorney? >> no. i'm just standing in for he attorney. you can get your comment from him. >> reporter: davidson was charged with voluntary manslaughter for a shocking incident thathappened about 1:30 a.m. on thursday morning in dupont circle. kiela marie ryan was celebting her birthday with friends. she just stepped out of a parked car when she was struck by jorida davidson's vehicle. a witness follow the suv to get

the tag number. prosecutors sayhen officers located the lexus davidson was in the driver's seat. court documents allege she was incapacitated and under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. the document detail the dramatic moment when the officer brought the bicyclist to chevy chase. the witness positively identified the defendant as the driver of the vecle that struck miss ryan. the witness said quote, that is definitely her. the prosecution argued that davidson is a flight risk because of her albanian citizenship. she had to surrender her passport. davidson will be placed under what's note as hh intensity supervision. the judge ordered her not to drive. jackie bensen, "news4 today." >> the investigation continues this morning into a myerious murder on a wooded estate in fairfax county. the body of 61-year-old young

yun was found in his home by a family member. police call it an apparent homicide and said he died from trauma to the upper body. missing from his home a gold lexus with virginia tags. police ask that if you see the vehicle or have any information contact them immediately. after yet another burglary in northern virginia police are questioning if a serial burglar may be expanding his territory. the latest burglary happened friday morning in the waterford area of loudoun county. investigators are looking into a possible link between 87 incidents in fafax county and 14 in prince william county. all happened over just the past two months. the latest break in is similar to towers. it happened duringhe early morning hours while the residents were asleep. the burglar came in through an unlocked door and took small valuable items. >> we suspect this person is comfortable with the area. walking around during hours of

darkne. on foot or bicycle covering large areas. sitting, listening, watching the area. >> investigators say even with the large number of incidents they still haven't been able to get a good description of the person who might be responsible. a northern virginia family asking for your help finding two mewho took advantage of an 89-year-old woman and stole her car. she got lost in leesburg and asked for help. she met two men who she thought were good samaritans. but they were anything but helpful. >> these peop charged her and then take her car. >> reporter: carole stevens is the niece of an 89-year-old fairfax county man who had her silver mercedes-benz stolen by a couple of men who acted like they were trying to help her. >> it's very sad. they obtained the trust of the person. they know they are elderly, they

are confused an that they are having a problem and then they take advantage of it. >> reporter: stevens says on thursday of last week her elderly aunt was driving on route 7 andlost. she ended up in a parking lot in the leesburg area. two men approached her and offered to help. one of the men drove her hem in the mercedes another her in a sepate car. >> she was confused and anxious and tired. d was frightened. >> reporter: when theyrrive at the victim's falls church area home she paid the men a substantial amount of cashand went inside. her niece said the next day she realized the men tok her home. >> two be suspects offered to take her home, they end up taking her car they took cash. they had the opportunity to be good samaritans and yet chose to be villains. >> reporter: fortunatelyhe woman was not hurt by the

scammersut she and her relatives scared because they know where she lives. >> i hope they can be caught so that they don't do this to some other elderly person. >> reporter: the victim's niece said as a result of this incident someone is with her 24 hours a day and that mercedes-benz is still missing. we have a traffic alert this morning. plan on taking the metro this columbus day weekend? farrah gut west and mcferson will be closed. lower level of metro center will be closed. red line service will not be impacted. no orange or blue line trains will pass through any of those three station. up have to take a shuttle betweenstations. you should be prepared for deys of up to 40 minutes if you're taking the blue or orange lines. everything should be back to normal for tuesy morning's commute.

and the d and yellow lines will be no picnic this weekend. add at least half an hour to your ride on the d line between shady grove and twin brook. and yellow line 30 minute delays between huntington and braddock road station because of landscaping work. you might need to find another way to find a way around town. 27 routes in maryland and virginia that usually operate on weekdays will not be in service on columbus day. other routes will be operating on an enhanced saturday schedule. still to come this hour another disappointing jobs report. the impact the latest numbers could have on next month's election. and major progress and efforts to rescue those trapped miners in chile. when the men may finally be out of harm's way.

latest jobs report to give them some good news heading into the mid-term elections. yesterday's report shows while the private-sector added 55,000 jobs the feral and local governments cut almost 160,000. do the math. 95,0 jobs were lost last month. and the unemployment rate is holding steady at 9.6%. the 14th month at that level. republicans are seizing the new data to attack democrs as mid-term elections approach. the report also shows there has been a sharp increase in part time workers. the jobs report is so bad news for college students and recent college grads who are not just looking for jobs they trained for but a job period. we he more on what the jobs report means for the nation's students. >> any questions? >> reporter: like most college seniors, kelsey is consumed with finishing her degree but the journalism major spend most of her free time searchingor work

in one of the toughest employment markets in alst three decades. >> it's stressful becaus i know everyone is looking for a job right now. >> reporter: at her school job fair could network and distributed an impressive resume but that may not be enough. the unemployment rate for adults 20 to 24 years old is nearly 15% and that's almost 50% higher th the national average which means she's competing with her fellow seniors and alumni who had been unemployed since she graduated last year. >> i'm finding i'm smitting my resumes in thin air. >> reporter: the pressure on students is spreading. career counselors say even freshmen are getting a case of the job jitters. >> not being able t know that there's a job out there in the
