died in the middle of dumfries road after 6:00 a.m. he was crossing at this commuter lot and headed for work. >> he tried crossing the street. >> reporter: there are no crosswalks here but it is heavily used by pedestrians who park in the lot and try to cross the street for a bite or a cup of coffee. this was a fatal choice for him. >> i just heard the screech. next thing i know, it hit the pedestrian. and it is real quick. >> reporter: police say the driver of the blue dodge ram stopped after t accident. they continue to search for anotr vehicle. >> the white box truck. not too much information to go on. the damage will be underneath the vehicle. we're not considering ahit and run. the driver might not know he was involved in the accident. >> reporter: there are signs alluding to crosswalk but no

of the five lines. on the orange line, trains will be single tracking between 53 and andhe west falls church station. on the yell line, one track between the pentagon stations. on the green line between the navy yard and the anacostia stations. and on the red line, delays between the shady grove and the twin brook stations. the city of alexandria is working on a bill that would penalize cab drivers for being rude to customers. the city counc will hold a hearing and it might vote on it tomorrow. that bill wants to improve the city's taxicab service. a friendliness clause could lead to the suspension or the revocation of a cabbie's cense if that cabbie is found to be rude to a customer. lawmakers also want to enforce a quota of dispatch calls per driver. they may require all drivers to have credit card capabilities.

if you live near railroad trags, you're used to hearing the occasional sound of the train. but some people say the horn are going off in the middle of the night for long periods of time. it is happening in the 1200 block of "w" street northeast near new york avenue. jackie bensen has our report. >> reporter: the sound heard in the overnight hours since sunday has been driving sheila absolutely out of her mind. illegal. in leesburg, jane watrel, news4. >> rate now it is banned in only two states. it has turned up in college park. authorities stay national poison control center reported 1,500 overdoses in the first nine months of this year. police in prince william county say a 79-year-old registered sex offense is in trouble with the law again. he is charged wh sexual battery in connection with an alleged incident that happened yesterday afternoon. a 15-year-old girl told police she was walk to high school when drove up offering her a ride. she got in and said the suspect touched her inappropriately. he was released on $5,000 bond. >> you mate want to slow down next time you're going through college park. they've got new speed cameras. they are set up near the intersection of paint branch park way and trolley trail.
