that's near the mall. a water line broke during the night. it's not clear how long it will take to repair that thing. aaa says gasoline prices have gone up 14 cents nationally in the past two weeks. experts are blaming higher crude oil prices and the weakness of the u.s. dollar. manners may be the last thing that come to mind when talking about local taxi drivers, but in one localcity, they want to hold cabbies responsible for their manners. john shiffin is in alexandria with more. john? >> many of the cabbies we spoke to toght said it doesn't matter what day of the week or what customer it is, they're always professional and on their best behavior. still, alexandria is contemplating a rule that would make sure that every time a customer steps into a cab, that driver is going to be polite.

>> well, that would be pretty cool. who wants a rude cab iver. right? >> that's what the city of alexandria is thinking, and on saturday it will propose a new ordinance that would make it illegal for a cab driver to be rude to a customer. >> the cab drivers sometimes don't give the necessary time to helpeople, and especially those who are not from the d.c. area. >> if this proposal passes, it would also be illegal for cab drivers to be rude to city officials or anyone on the street. >> i'm losing my business. i don't want to lose my business. >> some thing this is going too far. >> rude is something difficult to define. i don't think it's something we should spend any money or time on, quite frankly. >> but cab drivers are taking this seriously, because under the proposal, drivers who receive too many complaints could have their permit taken

o'malley signs the biggest tax hike in maryland history raids chesapeake bay fund to cover spending. gives raises to top aides. business climate ranks 45th worst in the nation. now 200,000 jobs lost. o'malley covers up jobs report that proved maryland's economy stalled. if re-elected, o'malley will raise taxes again. whether he does, is up to you. the police in northern virginia are warning rents about a dangerous but legal substancthat's becoming popular with teenagers. it's called k2 or "spice." and it is sold legally in stores as incense, but teenagers are smoking it. it's manufactured with a synthetic compound similar to the activengredient in marijuana. police in leezburg, virginia say they found k2 on several young people, including one who

recently overdosed >> it's just like any other drug. ey can overdose. it would cause the kregincrease heart rate, palpations, vomiting. >> this year the national poison control center has reported more than 1500 overdoses throughout the country related to k2. some homeowners in georgetown are promising another fight after a noisy pizza parlor that was shut down earlier this year is about to reopen. city officials closed a place called philly pizza on potomac street back in march. they cited trash, noise, zoning and other violations. the place catered to a late night crowd. now the owner is going to reopen the restaurant under a different name. neighbors are worried they'll see the same old problems. >> philly pizza is going to be open, it's going to be under a new name but same ownership, and everybody is just concerned that ey're going to relive the nightmare that they put up with for a couple of years.

by accident. dermatologists noticed that patients' headaches began going away along with their wrinkles. with the fdaapproval, patients can now have botox treatments covered by insurance. as a tightened for the washington redskins, chris cooley is used to getting hit. but the hardest hit he ever took happened off the field when his mother told him she had breast cancer. peter alexander has our repot. >> reporter: she called me and was crng, and right away i knew something was definitely wrong. she said, i have breast cancer. >> reporter: in 2008, cooley's ther nancy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. he got the devastating news less than a week before his wedding day. >> and that is so scary because i've never had -- i haven't known anyone that had it, and you just don't know what's going to happen. >> reporter: just like that for the cooleys, breast cancer became more than a disease.

>> what was the hardest part of that experience? >> every day it's a different life. i felt like i was not a part of the real world. >> repter: even today, two years later, nancy doesn't like to think about it. not about the chemotherapy or losing her hair. >> you would never picture your mom without hair, and she was like, what's my head going to look like? >> i was like, u have the prettiest hair. >> reporter: inspired by his mom, cooley started an event at the training site for women still battling the disease. cooley shared what a team doctor once td him. >> now i know why you never miss a game and why you play hard, because your mother is so much tougher than you. ♪ >> reporter: outside the lines, a group of women forming a team of their own, cheered on by a

low pressure. the big area still well up to the north and east. we see clear skies right now and i think we'll see plenty of sunshine during the day tomorrow. the storm system itself continues to move to the north and east, but cool with wind behind it. but as the area o low pressure moves out, high pressure will start to move in and that's going to create a very mild day during the day on sunday. i think sunday is really going to be nice as temperatures move back into the 70s, and that leads us to the colts and redskins game coming up at 8:20, 67 degrees at game time, but at probably into the upper 50s by the ti the game is all said and done with. and s and as we move io the day tomorrow, fairly chilly and breezy, 44 degrees. temperature a little below average but no bad. a day very much like today, although i think we'll see more shine than we did today. a bit warmer, some areas in their 60s. 68 onmonday, tuesday 67

bob ehrlich says he wants to fix maryland. but he increased state spending by record amounts. ehrlich raised $3 billion in taxes and fees... includg property taxes... and a 40% increase in college tuition. and now he's made over $1 billion in new promises... with no plans to pay for them... except for cutting education. cuts that will lay off teachers and increase class sizes. that's not a budget. and bob ehrlich's not the kind of leader... we can trust.

a baby was caught in the middle of a fight between a b disney world bus driver and an angry guest. it happened back on march 12 and was recently posted on youtube.

witnesses said the man was upset over not being allowed on a crowded bus. they say he pushed his baby at the busriver and then began to choke the driver. disney has put that bus driver on administrative leave while it vestigates. there is a deal up in york county, pennsylvania. it's making a lot of people in the market for a house take a closer look. this house is listed for free. you can havet. turns out the township needs the land to expand some offices, so it's offering the house for free to anyone who wants to haul it aw. the house is valued at about $60,000. you need a big [ male announcer ] martin o'malley sworn in.
