an urgent search for a woman who has disappeared on t river. she has not been seen for hours and as searchers comb the water, her family members can do nothing but wait and hope. good sarday,i'm craig melvin. family members say the missing woman knew the water well. and always makes a point to check in. she put her boat into the water at sandy run regional park in fairfax station late this morning and hadn't been seen since. darcy starts us off from the scene. darcy? >> reporter: the missing boater's son say she's very experienced on the water and she comes out here very often and does practice runs. relatives have no idea what may have happened out here today. a missing boater's husband and son wait and worry as they're just continuing to look for the 65-year-old woman. fairfax county fire and rescue officials say she went out on the river in her boat at sandy run regional park about noon and

hadn't been seen since. workers realize something was wrong late in the afternn. >> they had a system of check-in system and a check-out system and they noticed around 5:30 that she had not checked in and they noticed her boawasn't inside the boathouse and her car was still in the parking lot so they decided, hey, let's go out and look for her. >> all they found was the woman's capsized boat in the ver. those workers called 911, launching an all-out search. authorities looked using a helicopter and four boats but found no sign of the oman. so far, they're not releasing her name. >> everyone here that works here they know r and that's how they knew she was missing. she comes out almost every day. i think she was getting ready for a race tomorrow since she ca to get warmed up for that. >> the boats were pulled out of the water once it was too dark to continue the search. they're expected to continue their efforts to find the missing boater sometime in the mornin in fairfax station, darcy

spencer, news4. an elderly woman believ to be dead for days suddenly moves. back in october 1st, police found 89-year-old woman motionless on the floor of her maryland house. the officer said it looked like she had been there for some time. three hours later when they went to te away her body she let out a cry and moved her arm. she was rushed to the hospital and with you released three days ago. she's now recovering in hospice. five men originally accused of murder and the beating death outside a bar are now out of jail on lesser charges. the dc 9 workers were arraigned for aggravated assault. the victim died ater being kicked and stumped and the bar workers were up settle that mohammed had thrown a brick through a bar window. the case now dpsd on controversial wiess testimony. >> anyone who knows bill speeler

per day. that's on top of those folks that hail cabs on corners. and drivers will now face fines and suspension from work if complaints are filed. d.c. water crews are worki on a large water main break near the national mall. that happened after 10:00 last night near the intersection of 9th street and constitution avenue. constitution has been closed between 9th and 12th street. the break happened in a 24" main. the pipe has been in the city's water system since the 1920s. d.c. water says it will work through the weekend to get the main fixed by rush hour on monday. also, metro is going to be staying opened an hourate tomorrow night to get redskins fans home. station also close at 1:00 a.m. if the game goes into overtime which we hope itoes not, trains will run later. metro says they'll have additional trains ready and ready to clear out the crowds.
