georgetown university as a dorm evacuation leads to revelations of a drug lab on campus. two students and another person are now facing charges. good evening, i'm aaron gilchrist. a story out of virginia where animal control officers have removed almost two dozen cats from a home. this happened at a house along flamation court in centerville. police a animal control removed 18 cats from inside. no word if any charges will be filed against the owner. we're told health officials will go back to check on that house on monday. investigators are lookininto what caused the deadly apartment fire in sutlin, maryland, today. flames enlfed all four floors. several people had to be rescued from their balconies. the stair wells were filled with intent heaand smoke that blacked escape. it took about 100 firefighters 2 1/2 hours to get the fire under control. the red cross is helping about

two dozenamilies that have been displaced. federal fire investigators are expected in alexandria torrow to helping if ur out what sparked the fire at an historicchapel. flames engulfed the building yesterday afternoon. crews spent today working to stabilize the charred frame. no one was hurt in the fire. the loss of that chapel is felt deeply by people who worked, stied and worshiped there over the years. >> it' definitely hard. it broke my heart. just the parish itselfed ed aa the students that have been through these doors and have worshiped here, the marriages, the baptisms, the entire community's just suffered a loss that, yo know, i guess will bring us all closer together but -- >> this fire is not considered suspicious. the atf is taking part in the investigation because the fire was in a place of worship. the whistle blower website

wikileakhas disclosed secret u war documents that paint a picture of a weak and divided iraq. the secret. >> reporter:s show in all 10000 iraqis were killed, 66,000 were civilians. it also revealed the u military knew that iraqi security forces tortured and murdered detain es. the pentagon insists u.s. military tactics have inproved. wikileaks says it will soon publish 15,000 more secret documents out the war in afghanistan. authorities on a freshman dormitory early this morning. initially, reports a meth lab was set up but we've learned it's a different dangerous drug involved, darcy spencer is in georgetown for us this evening with t latest on what we've learned. >> reporter: aaron, i was able to speak to some students who live on that very same floor of the hall where that drug lab was discovered. they say they know the students who were arrested. shocked to say the least.

they say they were awoken early this morning by authorities banging on their doors, telling them to evacuate. and they weren't able to get back into their dorm uil about 6:30 tonight. three people, two of them georgetown university students, one of them a guest, are facing charges after a drug lab was discovered in a freshman dorm around 6:30 saturday morning. authorities say they were making a synthetic drug called dmt. >> it wasshocking. i had no idea that people were even capable of manufacturing stuff like that in the dorm. certainly not indicative of the culture of georgetown at all. >> reporter: authorities were called here after students complained of a strange odor. they found chemicals used to make a hallunogenic known as dmt. the dorm was evacuated. students had to remain out of the building for some 12 hours as the scene was processed. >> what you have here are

various chemicals and then you heat them up. if it's not properly ventilated, itould be a problem not only for ialation but also explosion. >> reporter: experts say dmt is found naturally but it can also be made. some say using dangerous chemicals. >> dmt we do know it is a dangerous hallucinogenic. messes up your motor skills. you can have memory loss. you fr your brain. i mean, and you can die. you can die. >> reporter: many students at this prestigious private school were shocked that a lab used for maki drugs would be found right here on campus. >> the most interesting thing about all of this is the fact that it can bring a lot of dangerous on to campus. who knows who who's going to be tracking on campus to deal with them or whatever they do so it's a big security issue. >> reporter: so again three people have been arrested in connection with this investigation. we're told that two of them are students. at this point facing charges of

a world champion swimmer died during a race today. take a look at this video of fran competing in the charlotte ultraswim in 2003. he was completing inhe world cup in the united arab emirates today. he never finished that race. officials found him in the water it it's unclear what caused his death. ten months after haiti was rocked by that massive earthquake the country is dealing with yet another problem, a cholera epidemic. the government and international aid agencies are expanding efforts to contain the disease that's sickened more than 2,600 people. cholera spreads through coaminated food and water. haiti is still struggling after january's devastating earthquake that killed 300,000 people and

displaced more than 1 million. powerful thunderstorms with heavy rain and wind, high wind, pounded north texas. winds gusted up to0 miles per hour, ripping off roofs and leave damage in its wake. several tornado sirens were set off in the dallas-ft. worth area. the region was spared any major destruction. still ahead, thousands braved the chilly early morning weather to help fight a disease that's growing.

frost this morning in vienna. 70 degrees, the high temperature today. low, . the coldest morning we've seen since april. a very cold morning. unseasonably cold. i don't think we'll get that cold for quite sometime. 59 degrees right now. around the area, 54. fredick, 62 in baltimore. and in sterling. look at the temperature difference between last night and tonight. it is 21 degrees warmer right now in sterling than it was this time last night. 20 degrees warmer in baltimore. 18 degrees warmer in quaint toe. 13 degrees warmer in hage on it. a big difference in the last 24 hours. high pressure is the reason why. behind it, we're seeing southwest wind. new a warm front. you can see it to thenorth providing some cloud cover. we will see clouds overnight tonight that will help to keep things even warr. temperatures down to the south and west, very warm.

76 in cincinnati. 80s back towards st. louis and memphis and that is the air that's going to be making its way towards our area during the day tomorrow. high pressure down to the south and east will bring us southwesterly wind. that will continue to pump in the very warm air. temperatures torrow will be 10 to 15 degrees above average. we're going to stay above average right on through the middle portions of next week as we continue to see a soutesterly flow. maybe some rain during the day on monday. and into early next week as well. so you may need the umbrella as we start the workweek. you alsoill not need the coat. tomorroworning, not as cold, 44 to 54 degrees. as we move on through the afternoon,t should be a nice one. some high clouds moving in from time ttime. nice and warm. 74 to 78 degrees. i wouldn't be surprise to see an 80 out there on the nap down to our south and west. 76 for high on monday. 78 on tuesday. and i might be too cool with these number. 80 on wednesday. 50% chance storms there as well. and mbe a couple thunderstorms
