doreen, we're told it was very busy here atthe time the teenager ran here. somebody flagged down a police officer who called for an ambulance. the victim was conscious and able to tell officers that the shooting happened at another location, a residential neighborhood on 14th place about a block from here. witnessetold detectives that the 16-year-old was waing with a teenage girl when the shooting happened. now, investigators located the spot where they believe it happened, but as of about 45 minutes ago, they have not been able to locate the teenage girl. they do not believe that she was injured. now, the 16-year-old's injuries are described as serious but

non-life-threatening. detectives were over at the scenup until about an hour ago. at this poin they tell us they do not have a motive for the shooting, but again, the 16ear-old's injury is described as serious but non-life-threatening. back to you. >> jackie bensen. thank you, jackie. a local school is in the midst of an on-line scandal with pictures and comments of students and teachers so inappropriate that the school system contacted facebook directly to have those pages taken down. now we're learning the problem may be bigger than just the one school. craig melvin is in alexandria now with more on this. craig? >> reporter: dozens of students, teachers, even the principle herself was on facebook with titles too nasty to tell on broadcast television. under those pictures, comments, some of them exual,so terribly offensive that school district officials raced to take down

those pages and contact the parents. >> they were vulgar and unnecessary and absolutely inappropriate. >> reporter: the school esource officer told her late last week. >> he said, you're not going to believe what's on facebook. he showed me very quickly and i said, oh, my god, that's terrible. let's get it off right away. >> reporter: dozens of pictures of t.c. williams students, teachers gathered from various web sites and posted on four especially made facebook pages. the culprit who made the pages did not alter e individual pictures but started posting comments. hundreds of students joined in. as school officials tried to figure out who was behind the pages, they foundut something se. >> we understand that there is a rash of these things going on in the area, so we're not the only school that had to deal with this. >> reporter: several t.c. williams students told us about other similar pages involving other high schl students in the area. principle maxie made two public

announcements to students and also sent thi letter home to parents. >> this is the kind of thing where you teach parents they need to monitor what their kids are doing on facebook or any of the social networking sites. >> reporter: they agree it's a lesson morparents can use. >> i look at the text messaging from time to time to make sure everything is okay. >> reporter: while she checks facebook, she's realistic. >> they have to have me as their friend. i also know that there's ways they can get around what i can see and what they really do. >> reporter: now, alexandria city police say at this point there does not appear to beny laws that have been brokn. they're not toip mystic of finding the person who put up these pages. both school officials said this is an excellent opportunity to teach parents to use those privacy settings on facebook.

>> thanks, craig. a mother and r baby were separated inside the metro system today. the stroller with a baby inside was put on a green line train this morning. somehow the door closed before the mother could get on. the train operator then got off with the baby at the next station. police watched the baby until the mother would get there. maryland's attorney general told news4 that the maker of an energy drink are breaking the law 4 loco, which is also known as blackout in a can. they're targeting children as consumers. several states, including washington and michigan, hve banned the sales of the product. doug ganzo says it's necessary to prevent the sale of the drink here as well. >> they're breaking the law. they're monitoring alcoholic drinks to children, marketing

them to children, and thas why children are getting hurt. >> some were hospitalized last month after drinking 4-loco at a party. they're working to ban the product worldwide. a teacher who was killed in howard county. aaron brice was killed outside a house last halloween. investigators have since learned there was another shooting outside the same house which is rented for parties six months earlier. ballistic tests show the same gun was used in both crimes. toght the victim's familis asking for closure in the murder of their son. >> this guy never had an angry face, ever. he was always happy. loved his mom, loved his sister, he loved people. this person worked and volunteered daytime. that's the type of person he was. >> police believe brice was shot in a drive-by.

another young man also was hit. he survived but he's paralyzed. prosecutors in the chandra levy murder trial dropped two charges today and then rested their case. they dropped charges against ingmar guandique. they included attempted sexual assault and aggravated murder, but he is still facing a kidnapping charge, robbery charge and two other murder charges. prosecutors haveased their case on a number of other witnesses. a cellmate of guandique's is excted to take the stand on monday. guandique himself could also testify. jury deliberations could begin as early as next wednesday. off the coast of mexico tonight, two tug boats continue to t the disabled cruise ship back to san diego. a coast guard helicopter has been dropping basic supplies for the444 passengers and crew on bod. instead of surf and turf, dinners now consist of spam. a fire shut down the luxury

it is clearing off with clear skies in the middle of november. 42n mart inzburg and 47n quantico. sending the kids off to school tomorrow, cool but nice. 34 to 44 degrees. we are going to see some sunshine and the sun makes it up about 6:46. during the day today, st. louis 77 today. 72 in cincinnati, but to the north, only 48 in boston. they saw 40-mile-an-hour winds, they saw rain, and it has been nasty up toward the boston area in the last couple of days, and it'sll because of that storm system we've been talking about in the last few days. it has been sitting off the coas not moving. high pressure back to the west. we are in between the two, but right now high pressure is winning out as this huge ridge will continue to make its way over toward our region. so whatre we expecting? more nice wther for the night tonight. into the day tomorrow. the area of low pressure finally moving off, high pressure settling on in. that may cool the numbers off a

little bit by one or two degrees during the day tomorrow. on friday we'll see the mbers move back up, and on saturday, i really think it will be beautiful, beautiful start to the weekend. tomorrow morning, mostly clear, cool but nice. 34 in some of the colder surbs to about 44 in the city. tomorrow afternoon we'll warm up nicely again to about the 60-degree mark in the city. some areas in the upper 50s but most of us at the 60-degree mark, at least. a bit breezy but not bad. 10 to 15, maybe 20 miles an hour through thafternoon. keep the flags blowing on veteran's day. 64 on your friday, 66 on saturday. some locations could be up around the 7 on-degree mark, especially those areas to the south like fredericksburg. 70 on saturday, 62 on sunday. sunday still looking nice and here comes monday. monday a grea day as well with temperatures in the 60s but then things are going to change a little bit. by tuesday and wednesday we'll see a chance of rain. not a big chancen tuesday, but a better chance on tuesday night

after years of planning, today ground was broken for the washington convention center hotel. washington marriott marquee will be built at ninth and mass avenue northwest. it's a $500 million project that will have 1100 rooms and an underground tunnel connecting it to the convention center. the officials hope to complete the hotel in 2014.
