you take one of those two guys. he tried tdance around with it and got it out of there but that is on eli manning. he missed it. >> al: fourth and six. giants going for it from their own 44 yard line. andy reid telling the crowd, come on, get into it! they are into it. >> cris: giants have althree time-outs. they could easily punt this football and play defense. >> al: they are afraid to. manning and he is going to n for it! he is going to get the first down! he gets to the 40 yard line and then as he goes down, the ball comes loose! there was a whistle. you heard the whistle. then there is a littleight that breaks out. you heard the whistle as manning went down. if you slide to a stop, at is the end of the play. if you dive, you're still in play until you get touched at the end of the play. here is manning. so he has to be touched before the ball comes loose.
11:36 pm
the ball looks like it's loose before anybody gets there. before he is touched, before he is down. there it is. and then samuel is there to come up with the ball and they are going to rule it a fumble. >> cris: i think what tom coughlin is saying -- referee: ball came loose. philadelphia recovered the ball. first down. >> al: that is the difference between going head-first and feet-first. feet-first, end of play. head-first, the play is still going until you get touched. >> cris: you can sort of declare yourself down but that is not one of those situations. eli is still here clearly going for yardage. he does not slide. without being touched, th ball is out.
11:37 pm
>> al: deja vu happened last year at the giants/eagles game at the end of the season with manning. >> cris: if he goes the other way, he is down the minute he starts to slide. >> al: coughlin is going to challenge it but i can't see where he wins this challge. because i don't see where he was touched before the ball comes loose. even though the whistle had blown. >> cris: is there any contact at all here? i don't -- >> al: hand to foot? it's the left hand. >> cris: but the ball is already out. >> al: that's what i think. you can stitch the angles together here. >> cris: right there, the ball is loose. now the leg comes around. >> al: right ball is on the ground. and it is out of his possession. so i don't see how coughlin wins this challenge. >> cris: it's a big choice by tom coughlin to challenge that, because at this point in the

11:40 pm
that is their second challenge. they have challenges remaining for the rest of the game. >> al: so the giants out of challenges with that, but that is moot after 51 more seconds. they have two time-outs and they also have a two-minute warning. if they can get a three and out is what they need right now, use the time-outs and take advantage of the two-minute warning and then get the ball back. there it is. turnovers. again, tonight it's been a killer for this te. shocking, because in all of the years that coughlin has coached gog back to jacksonville and all of the years with the giants, at one point, he was the all-time leader in fewest turnovers per game. that reverts back to ou colleague tony dungy. mccoy to the 40 yard line. giants take time-out number two. a good one here tonight. 24-17 philadelphia. next week to indianapolis we go
