us. veronica johnson joins us live with your first forecast. what about it? >> it is going to go south, but not south in a hurry. probably notice today the high clouds we have out there, the high clouds not giving us as gorgeous of a weekend as we had but plenty warm. it's still nice outside. the clouds moving through on the satellite and radar review. no wet weather to talk about. no showers in the area now. there is big area of rain down south and it's moving up. how much rain we could get out of the system that is south of our area and how long are we going to stay wet? the temperature is 81 degrees. we have a light east wind at 5 miles per hour. lots of high clouds. the temperatures i spoke of, how mild it is, 79 degrees in frederick. leesburg and sterling around 77. then we have a stack of 80s from d.c. to the south and southwest.

eventually, the clouds are going to give way to rain. 81 degrees is the current temperature. we have a light east wind at 5 miles per hour. again, high clouds moved into the area. you can see to the north, close to 80 degrees. hagerstown, maryland. manassas and warrenton, 81 degrees currently in culpeper. still nice, mild air out there. it's going to be a very nice evening. clouds here. more than clouds down south, around areas of savannah there, savannah, georgia, they have had so much rain, between one to two inches of rain right there along the coast all part of a tropical type system that developed over the weekend with the easterly flow. they have had rough surf, a lot of rain and wind. not just for florida but georgia and south carolina, too. eventu eventually, that system is going to move northward.

it's extended to raleigh, north carolina into virginia. i think we will start to see some of the first drops around southern maryland by the time we get to late tuesday night, early wednesday morning. here is a look at the good night forecast. mid-60s by 11:00 p.m. clouds move in. 62 to 60 degrees early tomorrow morning. outlying areas, mid-50s. the thing is for tomorrow morning, the morning rush will be dry and the afternoon rush will be dry, too. this is a snapshot of tomorrow at 3:30 during the afternoon. rain mostly funneling northward on the other side of the mountain. showers around north carolina and south carolina. then again by the time we get to early wednesday morning, the first showers is the green you see in southern maryland and areas of eastern west virginia. it will turn wet for wednesday.

if they can't reach a deal, they will cut the first two weeks. players have been locked out since the ends of last season. hank williams jr. blasts those who he thinks did him wrong. he was yanked from the monday night football after making remarks. now, he's blasting espn and fox. france and germany helped to ease the debt crisis in europe. the dow rallied 330 to close. the nasdaq was up 86 points to gain 3.5% and the s&p 500 was up 39 points, a gain of 3.4%. a surprise appearance at a tribute concert for pop star michael jackson. his three children took the stage to help honor their

and snatched her through the crib. investigators were at nearby landfills and interviewed her mother and father, again. police are trying to find a local handyman who hasn't been seen since the disappearance. no one has been named as a susz spect. tensions running high in cairo between christians, muslims and security forces. two dozen were killed, hundreds wounded. now the country's interim cabinet are holding meetings to figure out what to do next. richard engel has the latest from cairo. >> reporter: there were more clashes today, but nothing like we saw in the city yesterday. the clashes took place close to the nile river. it began as a christian protest, a peaceful protest with several thousand demonstrators trying to demand justice. they were holding a march going to the central television

station. as they approached the television station, they came across a soldiers, there was some pushing and shoving and things descended quickly and it became violent. the soldiers dispatched started plowing through the crowds. the demonstrators picked up stones and started throwing them. gunfire broke out and according to the ministry of health, at least 25 people were killed. nearly all of them christian demonstrators and more than 300 people injured. the govern many is in damage control saying there will be investigations and urgent political meetings. more christian demonstrators were saying the government didn't do anything to protect them. the government attacked christians and the government is allowing islamic extremists including some within the security forces to have free

from a prison administrator. what is her life like now? she spent part of the weekend visiting with old friends, including a former boyfriend. her more recent boyfriend was also acquitted of all charges in the death of meredith kercher. they were arrested in november, 2007. a few days after her body was found in a pool of blood in an apartment they shared. a third defendant was convicted and serving 16 years in prison. the case set off a fire storm in knox's hometown of seattle. it's not fully died down. knox's father spoke with matt about his daughter's future. >> there's a desire to help people wrongfully imprisoned. she's experienced that. i think down the road it's what we are going to see and see her really try to make a difference
