the mother stabbed outside a target store this week talks about the about her initial shock and the anger that followed. it was a random attack on tuesday outside a target store in buoy. tonight, for the first time, she is telling her story. shomari stone joins us live with the exclusive. >> reporter: marianne says she is sharing the horror she is experienced on tuesday. she had a target bag and put in the the trunk and the suspect stabbed her twice in the back and one in the head. her injuries are too graphic to show on camera and she is out of the hospital. >> i feel lucky. >> reporter: marianne breaks her silence. police say that antoinette starkings stabbed the mother of two several times in an

unprovoked attack. >> how does it feel to be home? >> i feel blessed to be here. >> reporter: she just finished shopping at target. suddenly ms. starks stabbed her twice in the back and fwhuns the head. >> comes up from behind and strikes me. >> reporter: she turned around. >> when i realized she did it i just ran. i mean there was nothing else i could do. >> reporter: when she was running away a witness found an office duty police officer across the parking lot. the police arrested ms. starks. she was holding two knives. this video from inside the shoppers free warehouse shows the suspect stealing a bag of knives that she used in the attack. that is what makes me the most mad is they let her leave the store. >> reporter: and mad that the

mental hospital released her 60 days ago. she was charged with stabbing two people at a nordstroms at montgomery mall six years ago. >> shocked and outraged. i can't believe they let a woman like this back out on the streets. >> reporter: starks is living at this group home in buoy. the staff won't talk to me. >> i would like to talk about antoinette starks. >> starks is in jail charged with attempted murder. >> i hope that she never gets out. >> reporter: now officials at shoppers food warehouse and the mental hospital refused to talk on camera or comment on the story. as for marianne appling she will go through a lot of rehabilitation and has a long road to recovery. i'm shomari stone, back to you.

tears and candle light filled the night sky praying for william mcquain. he has been missing for days. his mother was found murdered in her home on wednesday. a community is hoping now for a miracle. >> ♪ i once was lost ♪ but now i'm found. >> they don't completely understand why their friend and teammate 11-year-old william mcquain is missing. they just know it hurts. >> i just want him to come back. >> reporter: the parents know that william's mother jane was found deadbeat enan stabbed wednesday evening at her germantown home. they know william's stepfather, curtis lopez is in jail charged with murder in north carolina. >> i feel is it important

on sunday morning. the thieves demanded money from the clerk. they emptied the cash register and ran out of the store. the clerk was not hurt. if you have information call the fairfax county police. to alabama tonight. rick ross suffered a second seizure. the first one happened on a flight from fort lauderdale to memphis. he then boarded another flight and that flight had to land in birmingham after he had a second seizure. we don't know his current condition. in less than one hour a new speed camera that will start sending out real tickets. until now drivers were sent a warning but now they receive a $40 ticket in the mail. the city hopes to cut down on traffic accidents.

city that means for the weekend weather. a wild scene in new york city as wall street protesters clashed with police today. officers arrested more than a dozen of them. they were celebrating news they would not be evicted from their home base. some are now saying that the protests could last up until the 2012 presidential election in november. in california strong emotions in the courtroom where a man suspected of killing eight people faced a judge. scott dekraai was charged with eight counts of murder and one of attempted murder this week. prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. the victims families could be heard yelling at him. the shooting was sparked by a custody battle.

a judge ruled that a key piece of evidence can used in the rule mon trial this month. the jurors will hear a taped conversation before she was arrested. her brother asked brittany if the victim accused her of shoplifting. that is thought to be the reason for the murder. the trial is expected to start october 24th. it's being called liquid gold. thieves are stealing thousands of go reasons of used cooking oil. these two were caught in karlington. it is being taken from big drums outside restaurants and malls. it is going to a company that turns it into bio fuel but the thieves are selling it on the black market to companies making chicken feed. >> it is worth $3.50 a gallon. so it adds up when there are

not too bad. a pretty nice picture this evening. a lot of you really enjoying this nice fall cool crisp air across the area. the high temperature was 73 degrees. the average is 69 degrees. the stat that gets you here though is the rainfall, 19.64 inches since august 1st. that is 11 inches above normal and if you thought maybe we have been on the wet side that goes to show you that is exactly right. no rain across the area right now. a few showers in west virginia out in petersburg but that is it. they will not make their way over the mountains. they are still rotating around an area of low pressure. a large trough of low pressure over the east. that is what helping to cool down the temperatures and producing the showers. they cannot get over the mountains and are dying out west of the blue ridge.
