he's been posing as a police officer to commit crimes. authorities need your help tracking him down before he strikes again. good evening, everyone, i'm aaron gilchrist. the man is accused of sexually assaulting two women within hours of each other. the first attack happened in magnolia lane. less than two hours away, another attack near a busy shopping center. darcy spencer hans tonight's top story. >> this police impersonator approached a 17-year-old girl as she was entering her home. fortunately, the victims were able to provide enough descriptive information so police have a composite sketch. police say the man depicted in this composite sketch fondled the teenager as he pretended to search her. he identified himself as being in law enforcement and flashed a badge. it was 3:45 in the afternoon on tuesday. >> we want to make sure if

someone's preitending to be law enforcement and they're not, that they are caught. >> reporter: this time the victim was forced into the suspect's car. that attack at 7:00 in the evening at the herndon shopping center. the victim in her mid-20s. the man drove her to a nearby parking lot, where he sexually assaulted her. the car he was driving was described as a gray or silver four door. >> nowadays you can make all kinds of things that are fake. i would have to see if he has the right identification. but i also know how to protect myself. >> he's going around saying he's a cop, assaulting. that's not good. hopefully they catch the guy soon. >> police are hoping surveillance video will help track down the man responsible for those attacks. >> police want residents to k w know, you do have the right to ask for further identification and to have a supervisor come to

the scene. in herndon, darcy spencer, news 4. in montgomery county, maryland, the frantic search continues for an 11-year-old boy. william maclaine has not been seen for two weeks now. his mother was found stabbed to death in her germantown home wednesday night. her estranged husband is in custody in north carolina charged with her murder. he's made no effort to help police find his missing stepson. lopez is due in court in charlotte on monday. friends of an alexandria man have help to continue their search. a fund-raiser was seen for lenny harris. he was last seen on september 21st at a rec center. he was a mentor there. his cell phone was found on the wilson bridge. someone has been using his credit card. united in anger, the occupy wall street protests have now gone global. people across europe and asia

took part in protests today, showing their solidarity with the movement that began four weeks ago in new york. francis co reports. >> reporter: thousands gathered at the crossroads of the world saturday. as those involved with occupy wall street took their message to times square. earlier hundreds more marched through the streets of new york city to washington square, to protest an unfair economic and political system. >> this is people from all walks of life knowing that they have to fight for their country now or are we're going to lose it. >> reporter: across the united states, from southern california to south carolina. groups inspired by occupy wall street joined the day of protests. >> the people of the world need to come together to bring real change. >> reporter: all across the globe, people did come together showing solidarity with the occupy proceed tests and echoing

their concerns. demonstrators have taken up the cause in london, rome, berlin, paris. and as far away as australia and japan. . back where the protests began, organizers say the global events show just how far the movement has come in less than a month. >> the awareness, not only here in new york city, downtown, but across the planet. that's a huge measure of success. >> reporter: and they say they're just getting started. francis co, nbc news. >> events were held today in more than 900 cities across europe, africa, asia and the u.s. the official dedication of the martin luther king junior memorial takes place tomorrow morning. it's seven weeks later than planned because of hurricane irene. 50,000 people expected to attend the ceremony along the tidal basin tomorrow.

metro plans to open early tomorrow in anticipation of large crowds headed to the dedication. train service will start at 5:00 a.m. two hours earlier than normal metro also planning to provide extra trains to deal with the crowds. dedication activities start at 8: 00 a.m. tomorrow, the program begins at 9:00, with president obama speaking about 11:00 a.m. you can see all the ceremonies live on nbc washington nonstop, 208, fios 260, and over the air at 4.2. as a prelude to the king memorial, many gathered to rally in support of d.c. voting rights. they shared the plaza with members of the occupy wall street movement. vincent gray kicked off the event the. >> i'm sick and tired of taxation without representation.

it looks like somebody wasn't lovin' it. a mcdonald's employee caught on tape attacking two female customers with a metal rod. he got upset after two women jumped over the counter. he picked up the rod and started swinging. one of the women is in the hospital with a fractured skull. mcintosh is a convicted felon and was recently released after serving a ten-year sentence. he no longer has a job at the mcdonald's. the bodies of 51-year-old

michael cross and his wife, susan cross found in their home this morning. both had been shot. police are not looking for any suspects in this case. the medical examiner expected to rule on monday whether this was a case of murder/suicide. the supreme leader of iran calls accusations his country was behind the plot to kill the saudi arabian ambassador to the u.s. meaningless and absurd. the ayatollah khomeini says the u.s. is trying to isolate iran from the rest of the world. an iranian official denied claims that a high level dip low met with an iranian counterpart over that plot. after the break, campaign cash. how much money some republican presidential hopefuls have raised in the run for the white house.

some republican presidential candidates have a lot more money to fuel their campaigns than others. rick perry raised $17 million in the third quarter. more than any other gop candidate. mitt romney was a close second. herman cain raised almost $3 million. and rick santorum about 700,000. on the flip side, president obama has raised more than $70 million between his campaign and

the democratic party. the federal government has denied aide for virginia county damaged by three natural disasters. louisa county, virginia was the epicenter of that earthquake. then it was hit by a hurricane and tornado last week. no one was killed, but the damage tops $18 million. most of that uninsured. presidents have been holding fund-raisers but say they are frustrated the federal government is not stepping in to help. chuck bell is here with us now. it says 60 on our screen. it felt colder to me when i went out for dinner. >> it depends where you go. if you're around a paid parking lot like our station here, you would be warmer. the asphalt holds the heat in. if you were out over a grassy field, it would be colder. i'm going to leave that one alone. outside on a saturday night. mostly clear skies, depending on

dedication gets started at 8:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. when the president speaks, about 62 degrees. a few high thin clouds coming in. on the whole, great weather. the exact opposite of the hurricane the last time they tried. all the clouds well to our north today. as soon as the sun comes up tomorrow, things will start to warm up quickly. a little hint of a breeze, but nowhere near as tough of a breeze as it was today. a weak weather front is going to come through here late sunday night into monday. not going to notice much impact with it, as it goes through the first time. it's going to lay out. and as it hangs around the area, it will allow more and more in the way of cloud cover to come back in the picture. i think monday is looking dry, a lot cloudier than before. most of the rain chances look like they're going to stay away from us.

cavs go up 21-14. they hold on for a 24-21 win. look at the students storming the field. they hand the yellowjackets their first loss of the season. uva is 9-1 against the yellowjackets. now with that stunning loss. virginia tech suddenly found themselves back in the race for first place in the acc coastal division. tonight was no cake walk for the hokies. going on the road to take on a wake forest team who was 3-0 in conference play. the hokies haven't lost since 1983. second quarter, tech down 10-7. logan thomas hooks up. makes a great catch. extends to the goal line. hokies up 14-10. david wilson runs it in from seven out, that's 17 carries on the day. 136 yards with the td. hokies up 28-10. fourth quarter now, virginia
