more than 30 years, but it could again in about two days. in fact, chief meteorologist doug kammerer with more on that. >> if we were to even get an inch of snow in the d.c. area at the airport it would be the fourth largest snowfall, or actually probably the third largest snowfall in d.c. history in the month of october. so we are kind of forecasting something historic here across the area. right now, 49 degrees. the temperature out there. the temperatures are dropping. the winds are howling at 21 miles an hour. gusts close to 30 miles an hour. take a look at the wind gusts around the rest of the region. 30 miles an hour right now in manassas. all out of the northwest. that is ushering in some very cool if not cold, air and that sets the stage for our next storm. this is the same storm that brought denver some snow. it's going to meet up with a piece of energy. produce a coastal storm and, yes, give us our first snowfall of the season at least for some of us. i'll show you who i think gets what coming up in just a few

minutes. >> thanks, doug. also tonight a murder for hire plot in northern virginia. police say a woman tried to finance a hit man. jackie bensen has our report. >> reporter: she allegedly wanted to hire a hit man to kill her romantic rival, but she apparently had a limited budget. according to court documents in the case, loudoun county school bus driver angenene cinnamon made some efforts to hire a hit man. first there was the choice of the go-between. a man she met in august on a website called be naughty. according to the criminal affidavit, quote, he said he would see if he could help her and then contacted the fbi. they met to discuss the plan at her sterling townhouse, unaware the fed were now watching and listening. cinnamon negotiated a bargain basement fee of $500 down from

$1,000. however, she refused to pay the hit man's airfare to virginia. but agents say she couldn't raise the full sum and payment was arranged on the layaway plan. $100 down. at an october 20th meeting in her conversion van parked in the lot of nearby great falls plaza shopping center, fbi agents claim to have recorded cinnamon saying, quote, i want nothing left, no remains, nothing. the court documents claim she also asked for a two for one deal instructing the hit man to kill her boyfriend, too, while he was at it. she was arrested october 20th at her home. cinnamon has been suspended from her job as a loudoun county public school bus driver. she remains in federal custody. reporting from sterling, jackie bensen, news 4. also in loudoun county, investigators are trying to figure out if a former cia contractor sexually assaulted dozens of children. 49-year-old jeffrey lee is charged with nine counts of child pornography possession. during a search of his home,

investigators found a list documenting sexual encounters he had had with 47 minors. now the question, did those encounters really happen? it's especially tough news for neighborhood parents since their children play with the suspect's two children. >> we'll make sure that nothing is communicated to their kids because we don't want to have anything bad happen with them, but also that we need to stay away. we need to be wary. something is going on. >> tonight, jeffrey lee remains in jail with no bond. to the lululemon murder trial where today britney norwood's sister approached jayna murray's mother in the hallway and started a conversation. those two families had sat on opposite sides of the aisle all week not saying a word or exchanging glances inside the courtroom. witnesses testified that the evidence did not match norwood's story that she was also a victim in the murder of murray at the

lululemon story. one police officer said a wound on norwood's hand looked like a cut you might get when you use a knife, not a defensive wound. a nurse testified she found no evidence of rape. the defense claims norwood lost control during a fight with murray and murray's murder was not premeditated. >> an unusual animal sighting will have officers searching a d.c. park tomorrow. the report of a mountain lion is the talk of the neighborhood. >> some people who live in this community are very concerned especially when they go out and walk their dogs in the evening after a hard day's work. the washington humane society says they haven't heard any of mountain lion sightings in d.c. over the past five years. but then again, they also add that anything is possible. dora is certain she saw a mountain lion that looks like this one in mclean gardens on the edge of glover park in

northwest d.c. her friend translates what she saw. >> so she said she was taking the dog out. she took him around the corner here, around the corner of the house. and she -- they saw the cat sitting or the -- what she believes to be the mountain lion. >> reporter: she says she spotted the big cat in these woods next to the apartment complex last week. she says the cat got scared and ran away. >> the cat went running because the dog started barking. so she didn't really -- i think it was more surprise to see it there. >> reporter: washington humane society officials tell us it's not unusual for deer, possums and other wildlife to roam in some parts of glover and rock creek park. >> it could have been that someone had it as a pet and let it go because they realized they couldn't take care of it. so it could be. >> reporter: this woman says last february she saw a mountain lion in the same area. >> it was pretty scary. >> reporter: whs isn't taking any chances.

>> we are concerned. the animal control department is concerned and we will be out looking around. >> and some concerned dog owners are keeping a close eye on their pets. >> i was pretty surprised to hear about it. >> reporter: once again there have been no confirmed sightings, but then again, wildlife officers will be out tomorrow to search. back to you in the studio. tonight, new allegations in the election probe involving d.c. mayor vincent gray. according to an anonymous source of the associated press, suleman brown told federal prosecutors that gray gave him talking points to use against then mayor adrian fuente in the campaign. brown was a minor candidate for mayor. a grand jury is investigating that gray's staff promised brown a job if he stayed in the race and attacked fenty. the search continues for a missing 8-year-old boy with autism near richmond. crews still believe that robert woods is alive.

five days after he disappeared in a park north of richmond, virginia. tomorrow, 1,000 volunteers are needed to help in the search. the meeting place is changed from kings dominion to nearby meadow event park. you are asked to be there by 8:00 if you'd like to participate. today, dive teams joined the effort and began searching the north anna river. a custodian in occoquan is accused of videotaping a woman in a shower. it happened at the healing hearts counseling center. a woman who works there discovered the hidden camera on tuesday. police latest arrested 53-year-old americo rodriguez of woodbridge. investigators say he videotaped the woman three different times. he's being held without bond on three counts of unlawful taping. fairfax county school officials reversed a decision about breast cancer bracelets today after a 12-year-old who had his bracelet taken away was featured on news 4 at 11:00 last night. school officials originally told

us the word boobies on the bracelet is inappropriate. today, lawyers for the school system determined the bracelets are okay to wear at school. confiscated bracelets were returned. october is breast cancer awareness month. the man referred to as the father of propofol took the stand today for the defense in the trial of michael jackson's doctor. his name is conrad murray. dr. paul white testified that the prosecution's propofol expert may have miscalculated how much of the drug dr. murray was giving jackson. the defense is trying to cast doubt that murray administered a dose that was lethal. but dr. white admitted murray did make some mistakes. >> conrad murray has been accused of infusing a dose of propofol and leaving his patient. can you justify that? >> absolutely not.

>> an expert also testified today. he said he believes that michael jackson's insomnia was because of an addiction to painkillers. it is still not clear yet whether murray will take the stand himself in his own defense. occupy wall street protesters across the country are rallying behind iraq war veteran scott olsen. the 24-year-old survived two tours of duty in iraq but was critically injured during tuesday's confrontation between protesters and police in oakland, california. witnesses say olsen was hit by a police projectile but nobody is quite sure exactly what it was. he's been upgraded to fair condition now. in washington, things have been considerably calmer. today in mcpherson square, the national park service distributed educational flyers to protecters. they explain how demonstrators can comply with park regulations and keep the area clean during their extended stay. the park service said it respects the demonstrators' first amendment rights and hopes to clarify how everyone can have a good experience while they

occupy the square. firefighters rescued three people in maryland today. all of it thanks to a 12-year-old girl. china livingston heard some alarms going off in the building behind her. when she went out to check, she saw people trapped on a third floor balcony. after her friend dialed 911, china explained the situation to the operator. >> prince george's county 911. >> there's a fire. there's a fire in the building. they can't get out. and somebody is stuck on their balcony. they have a baby with them and they cannot get out. >> firefighters rescued the three people who were trapped. they raised the ladder to them. a kitchen fire in a neighboring apartment started that blaze. still ahead tonight -- families forced to flee when a huge fire spreads from a vacant building to hundreds of homes. president obama took some new friends out to eat over in arlington. drew a massive crowd. and charlie sheen is making a return to tv.

hundreds peemp had to evaught their homes after a fire at a construction site in carson, california, tonight. that fire started in an uncompleted area that was being turned into apartments, restaurants and other shops. 200 mobile homes nearby had to be evacuated while firefighters tried to get this blaze under control. it's not clear how this fire started. the car crashed into a radio station in fairfax, virginia, this morning. the walls caved in, glass shattered at 106.7 the fan. the sports junkies were on the air at the time. we're told a show producer had just walked out of that room that the car slammed into. the driver said he was trying to avoid a pedestrian. he's been charged with failing to maintain control of his vehicle. the $1 for a dvd price that made red box so popular is changing. starting monday, they'll hike daily fees to $1.20. the company says the new price is due to higher operation costs and higher debit card fees. blu-ray and video game rental prices are not going to change.

charlie sheen is going to make his return to tv next summer. it was announced this evening that he'll be starring in a new show called "anger management." it's on the cable network fx. production set to start early next year. fx already airs reruns of sheen's former show "two and a half men." four average americans got an extraordinary chance to break bread with the president tonight. they were the winners in the dinner with barack contest. the president took them out to the liberty tavern in clarendon, virginia. they'd given at least $5 to the president's re-election bid. his guests included a retired teacher, a postal worker, a small business owner and an artist. they were flown in from arizona, min, colorado and indiana, states important to the president's re-election campaign. >> apparently pop culture is in, politics out this year for halloween. there's a new poll that found that people would rather dress as lady gaga and the geico

caveman than the obamas or sarah palin. the poll found among women, lady gaga was most popular followed by sarah palin and then michelle obama. for the guys, 46% said they'd like to dress up as the geico caveman, donald trump came in second. president obama came in third. >> i don't know. are we going to need to dress up in our snow suits for halloween? >> it was lady gaga for me but after seeing that, i'm not doing it. she's not going to happen. >> you've got a new plan? >> you mentioned snow suits. i think if you have a sled and if you are well to the west of washington, you may be able to use it over the next couple of days. this is why this is such a tough forecast. once again, we're not just forecasting snow. we're forecasting snow for october. something that has only happened three times in our history going back to 1888 where we see more than a trace of snow. i think we can see that coming up over the next day or so.

man, you walk outside and there are some winds of change. and temperatures have continued to fall. high temperature this afternoon got up to 66 degrees. the low was 57. but the current temperature is 49. so that's the new low. yes, a huge shift in our weather pattern as we make our way through the night into the day tomorrow. 49 right now. winds gusting upwards of 26 miles an hour in our region. we're going to be talking about a windchill for the next couple of hours. if you are stepping outside to maybe walk the dog one last time, it's going to be chilly. radar, nothing show you. the rain is out of here. as our front has moved down to our south. so the front is out. now the cold air is moving in. 34 in state college. 41 in hagerstown. still mild down to the south. but that cold air starting to filter down into our southern portions of our viewing area, too. and it will continue to do so. i think the cool air will be here tomorrow morning. some areas if not most areas to the north and west of washington

will start out in the upper 30s tomorrow. and i think we will see windchills in the low 30s with a 5 to 10-mile-an-hour wind. and then by 6:00, here's future weather. and here comes our next system. it's going to be a fast mover and it may be in here by 6:00 tomorrow evening with rain. and a very cool rain at that. but already look at the snows back towards the mountains. back towards blacksburg and shenandoah valley. watch what happens through the night and into the day on saturday. this is 11:30 in the morning. very cold air. a lot of snow back towards western portions of virginia and west virginia, western maryland. but then rain. and i think this will be mostly a rain event for most of us. i'm talking about a lot of rain. maybe an inch to an inch and a half of rain around the washington, d.c., area and points to the east. it will be rainy. it will be cold on saturday and it will be rather windy. the snow. when do we have a chance to see that snow? as the storm system intensifies and pulls away. look how close the snow gets to the washington, d.c. area.

around 6:00, 7:00 at night and i think even toward the east you may see a few flakes. on sunday, it's just going to be cold and we will see some sunshine. who is going to see what? again, a very tough forecast. but this is my early call right now. i'm thinking 3 to 6 inches around i-81 to the north and west. maybe more here. this is what we're really going to have to watch out for. 1 to 3 including westminster toward frederick, western loudoun county. front royal and along the front range here of the blue ridge. in the washington, d.c., metro area, less than an inch in most of montgomery, most of howard county, fairfax county, eastern loudoun, prince william and fauquier. less than an inch here and down to the south and east, just a few flakes into southern maryland as that storm begins to exit. but these numbers will change. so you want to make sure you stay with us during the day tomorrow as we will have more numbers for you. tomorrow morning, partly cloudy. a chilly start. possible freeze to the north. there's a frost advisory up there. 32 to 42 degrees overnight.
