words. >> it took the jury an hour and insight into what sealed the verdict. >> all the jurors agree that was worse than the photos. >> it was a case that captured the attention of the city and a twist that made international headlines. >> as the verdict was read the pain two families have to live with u.s. evident. we begin outside the courthouse in rockville. >> reporter: some jurors were moved by the testimony of jayna murray's mother who took the stand and spoke for her. others were moved by the mountain of evidence that showed the hundreds of wounds and they found britney norwood guilty of first degree murder. the prosecutor was joined by the family of jayna murray after the guilty verdict in the lululemon murder trial to thank the montgomery county police department, the community and

the jury. >> as i said during the course of this trial, this was an horrific difficult case and i am sure for the men and women who were selected to serve on the jury this was a hard case. these were difficult facts to listen to and to judge. >> reporter: the state medical examiner told the jury that she suffered 332 wounds from at least five weapons. the jury reached their unanimous verdict on the first vote. >> what made it such a quick verdict was the number of injuries and where they were sustained and the fact they were sustained while she was still alive before the final injury that killed her was struck. made it i don't know, really swayed the jury, i believe. >> the defendant's family came to court every day and left without saying a word publicly. their lawyer said he was

so it's up to you whether you want to stay or not. >> reporter: the women involved in the alleged sexual aharassment complaints have been desieged by the media. the associated press has published a report quoting sources that a third woman who worked with cain in the '90s considered filing a workplace complaint against him after he asked her to his corporate apartment. cain's campaign denied he did anything wrong calling it a smear campaign and accused rick perry's operation of being behind it. >> there are factions that are trying to destroy me personally as well as this campaign. >> reporter: the inside the beltway reference is to on message, inc. a consulting firm hired to bolster rick perry's

presidential campaign. one of the partners worked on cain's losing 2004 campaign. >> i'm here with these doctors and that's what i'm going to talk about. don't even bother asking me all of these other questions that you are curious about. >> reporter: rick perry's campaign denies any involvement in this and the controversy has not hurt herman cain. they raised $600,000 in contributions today. back to you. >> thank you, jackie. the redskins tell news4 they are exploring all options when it comes to a new training complex. news4 learned that the district is aggressively trying to get the skins to move their training facilities from ashburn, virginia to rfk stadium in northeast. the d.c. mayor took a secret trip to take a look at an nfl

training facility in tampa. d.c. is hoping that the training complex would be part of a $30 million redevelopment effort there. the virginia governor has not commented on the possibility of losing the skins in ashburn. will the is a new snow policy in the works for federal employees to avoid scenes like this one in van and when commuters were stuck in traffic for 12 hours. now the office of personnel management would force federal workers to leave when they are told or forced to shelter in place until the roads are safe. the policy was announced by the washington post but not posted to the website. tonight we are looking at the damage from the august earthquake to a local landmark. this is the former home of robert e. lee. there are a bunch of cracks in the plaster and the back wall

shifted by a quarter of an inch. the second floor has been closed off to visitors now. the repairs could take five months. at longwood university in virginia more than a dozen students are facing charges related to hazing. court documents, police seized a branding iron and torch an wooden paddle. authorities arrested 15 members of the fraternity and two alums. is it related to assaults on other members. the national fraternity suspended the chapter. a spotsylvania woman is accused of using her elderly father's credit card to make $40,000 in purchases. look at these photos of the goods stacked inside and outside the home in fredericksburg. the sheriff's deputies could not get a signature for a package. a protective order has been issued to keep the woman from

dangers and hazards on the roads, bicyclists, pedestrians and children but it is difficult, imagine to have to navigate it all in a 40-not bus loaded with passengers. tonight we are getting a look at the everyday realty for metro bus drivers in the area. aaron gilchrist is in friendship heights with that unique perspective. >> reporter: i saw this video and i thought are you kidding me? this happens? it does apparently. all the buses are equipped with buses inside and outside. news4 got some of that video to show you how difficult a situation the public can create for drivers and how much the drivers are tested all over metro d.c. it's a rare look inside a rainy day metro bus ride on sheridan road southeast as a child darts out. watch the passengers react in

shock on this bus in arlington. and two cyclists pop out on the right here in georgetown. all too often metro bus drivers are forced into quick reactions to avoid hitting cars, cyclists and pedestrians. >> it is saying don't walk but people are still running across the street. they are not looking for the don't walk side. >> reporter: as we road with lawrence cole we got a taste of what metro's drivers are trained to deal with like here at the busy intersection of 7th and k. see the cab driver he is making a left in front of me. >> reporter: his reality is not just getting riders from point a to b a task is maneuvering the sol -- slalom that is his route.

>> reporter: he sees the near misses and they are why his drivers go through eight weeks of training. >> we are one of the most congested cities in tp country. so we have to do everything we can to get the operators prepared to deal with those on a regular basis. >> before any driver hits the street they spend time in the training simulator. they are faced with all sorts of obstacles. >> reporter: the instructor can create challenging scenarios for drivers. and as i learned firsthand the job is hard. >> this vehicle is not going to stop. you should stop if they don't stop. didn't you see the car coming? >> it's not laughing matter? the professionals are not expected to make the mistakes i made. that's why the training lasts so long. but while the public did make the mistakes, metro bus drivers
