from massachusetts and jon kyl, republican from arizona. that's all coming up on "meet the press" with david gregory starting 10:30 right here on nbc 4. meanwhile today, hundreds are expected to gather for what's being called a super vigil. it is set for 3:00 this afternoon at lafayette park. they will pray and urge super committee members to strike a deal. they're calling for a budget that preserves what they say is vital, domestic and international assistance. lease arrested 11 protesters who tried to occupy the franklin building in northwest washington. the members of the so-called free franklin movement were calling attention to the lack of housing for the homeless. the vacant building was once a homeless shelter. police say the protesters may have entered through a second story window before gathering on the rooftop. the fire department had to break down a door to let the police in. those arrested have been charged with unlawful entry, which is a

miss demeanor. police in oxen hill are looking for answers after a second murder on the same street in just two days. a woman was shot to death on marcy avenue at 9:00 last night. police don't have any information on a possible suspect or motive. this comes just a day after a man was found stabbed to death a block away. so far the murders have not been linked. this morning fairfax county police are looking for a stolen car after it was car jacked at a popular shopping center. police are on the lookout for a 2003 silver acura are the tags xek-8095. it happened yesterday arch in the parking lot of neiman marcus at tysons galleria. a woman was approached by a woman who said she was out of gas and needed a ride to a gas station. once in the car, the woman pulled out a knife and stole the car. meanwhile, police are looking for a man suspected in an armed robbery in college park.

it happened last night behind vito's pizza near the university of maryland. prince george's county police believe he had a semiautomatic handgun and got away with a cell phone and wallet. they have not said if the victim was a student. thursday night a student was robbed in front of a dorm. well, your cab ride in arlington county could soon cost you a little more cash. county board approved a 10 cent fare increase bringing it up to $2.10 per mile. it goes into effect new year's day. happy new year. and the extra passenger charge will only apply to those 12 years or older. cabs will have to accept credit cards by december of next year. the county board said the fare increase is due to rising gas prices and overall operation of taxicabs. all right. go ahead, throw out the records. it's the redskins and the cowboys today. the skins look to stop a five-game losing streak against their arch rival.

news 4 derrick ward is live at fedex field. we have tailgaters out there yet? can you feel the tension? >> actually, there are some out here already. what a better way to break a five-game skid than do it against your arch rivals. people already starting to show up for the big game. you might say the redskins fans are in the throes of agony. the cowboys were struggling and the redskins were poised to be well positioned within the nfc east. but now the cowboys are a game away from the top of the division and the skins are looking at the remote but mathematically plausible possibility of a postseason showing. that's about as good as it gets now. but it's all about evaluation and of course it's always all about this rivalry. this is still the redskins versus the cowboys.

let's hope. redskins fans. i know it will be a sellout. just hope there are more burgundy and gold than blue and silver in the stands. you can see over the field there, a gray sky out there this morning. but as we come back to our city camera view, a little bit of sunshine in downtown d.c. sunlight on the south side of the monument. sunlight on the dome of the jefferson memorial. but skies will will become increasingly gray through the late morning and early this afternoon. rain chances should hold off until after sunset. i can't rule out one or two random rain drops. noticeably milder start. 58 in huntingtown. restin, dulles, leesburg at 52 this morning. blue ridge, northern maryland, a few cool spots. it is a much milder day today than yesterday morning. the clouds are here to stay. they will continue to thicken as we go through the rest of the

afternoon. these breaks of sunshine will become fewer and farther between. this is not rain in montgomery county. but these are rain drops across parts of eastern west virginia. most of that is drying up as it comes over the mountains. but eventually there's plenty of moisture back there across kentucky, tennessee and eventually all that will come over the mountains, saturate the air mass and we will be wet by this time tomorrow. no doubt about it. there's our cloudy skies for now. rain drops are having a hard time getting over the appalachian mountains. we'll be dry for most of our usable outdoor hours today. milder, yes. but as i've been talking about, the clouds will continue to thicken. rain chances increasing. still not much if anything, going on around town. but after that end of the 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 in the morning time. 3:30 in the morning. plenty of rain coming into the picture. showery weather. a wet start to the weather. off and on shower chances through tomorrow afternoon.

a little hint of moisture in the air, no doubt about it. and eventually these clouds will lead to rain drops. most of your sunday will be dry as advertised. now, that being said, there could be one or two quick little sprinkles. that's going to be just about it. most of your daylight hours should be just fine. by november standards, plenty mild out there. temperatures are already in the middle and upper 50s around town. fredericksburg, theburg at 61 degrees. hagerstown, 52. here on doppler, the showers, echoes you see in montgomery county not reach the ground. the ones apart from west virginia are making it. eventually these will lead to rain chances for usment a lot of rain across kentucky and tennessee late tonight, early tomorrow. cloudy. nothing more than a quick sprinkle or passing drop today. nice and mild. rain moves in after sunset. probably closer to the 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 time frame. back to work and school for what a lot of people will have a short week.

the president arrived at andrews air force base overnight. meanwhile in australia, investigators are trying to figure out how a classified booklet containing his itinerary was lost and found in a street. it had the president's agenda, names of his security convoy, and cell phone numbers of senior u.s. and australian officials. the president visited australia during his trip abroad. democrats are getting into campaign mode. chicago mayor rahm emanuel delivered a keynote address at a democratic fund-raiser in iowa.

he said president obama made tough decisions based on principal to help the country. >> emanuel said he faced tough decisions. several attended a conservative forum. front-runners newt gingrich and her main contain were among those who attended the thanksgiving forum. the candidates shared how their religious faith influences their public life. cain credited his marriage with helping him after being diagnosed with cancer in 2006. wisconsin's republican governor scott walker is facing a possible recall from his position. yesterday protesters held a rally in front of the state capitol. they're working to gather 545,000 signatures, triggers a recall election. opponents of walker are upset because he limited collective bargaining for union workers.

afternoon before the clouds start to thicken back up. there's your day planner. mid-60s for the middle of the afternoon. and then staying mild all the way through the early evening hours. so if you're headed out to the redskins today, cowboys and the skins kicking it off at 1:00. 61 degrees. again, nothing more than a sprinkle out there at the redskins game today. and the ravens and the bengals at 1:00. 58 degrees there. cloudy, mild. nothing more than one or two random drops. this is not reaching the ground in western montgomery county. eventually this will saturate the atmosphere and lead to rain chances. north central tennessee. all that is on the conveyor belt. it's coming directly towards us. so it will be a wet start on monday morning around here. and it looks like we'll be kind of damp and dreary around here for much of the front half of the week. so milder today with the 60s.
