the family's living quarters. he was arrested in pennsylvania last week. the opening of the september 11th museum at the world trade center sight in new york is being delayed because of a cost dispute. it's between the foundation and the port authority of new jersey. the port authority owns the sight. the port authority claims it foundation owes $156 million. the museum was supposed to open next september. egypts civilian government submitted their resignation to the ruling military council. meanwhile, for a third straight day, protesters in cairo are clashing with soldiers. the egyptian army -- parliament elections will be held next week. there's no indications the

thanks. this holiday shopping season will look like the last. many shoppers say they will spend the same as they did last year. the consumer federation of america and credit union association surveyed 1,000 shoppers. half plan to spend the same as last year. experts say we could see growth in overall spending. >> last year, holiday spending increased just a little less than 4%. therefore we believe it's likely this year holiday spending will increase between 3% and 4%. >> 37% say their financial picture is worse this year than it was before. well, thanksgiving is fast approaching. thousands of families throughout the region are still struggling to put food on the table this holiday season. >> we are asking for your help with our food for families drive it's all day today. pat lawson muse is live at the

attack using pipe bombs on soldiers coming back to the u.s. authorities have been tracking him for nearly two years. they finally moved in when he purchased ingredients for bombs with the help of an nypd informant. oscar ortega hernandez is accused of firing rounds into the white house. there's not enough evidence to charge him. no official word from the so-called supercommittee. now, it appears the panel's debt-cutting mission will end in failure. by midday, they had yet to meet. both parties were blaming each other because they didn't have a deal. >> the expected failure sent stocks tumbling. the dow plunged 247 points. nasdaq off 49 and s&p off 20 points. a former head of the fbi
