a "w" for tiger woods for the first time in more than two years. >> he made two putts when he needed them most. >> first victory anywhere in two years three weeks. fifth time he wins his own tournament. and that number of worldwide titles stood at 87 for a long time. it's now 88. it is over. he's a winner again. that was a theme with the black and red that has played over and over for years. the mouth wide open. it must feel so incredible for a guy that won so much and you know doubted the ability at times to get back there.
6:02 pm
when is it going to come. and zach johnson battled him tough all day long. said all right. happy with my performance. but whatever side of the fence you're on in the whole tiger saga, there's a lot of cheering for him right now at sherwood. >> let's send it down to mark rolfing. >> what it does feel like now. >> feels great. it was a lot of fun coming down the stretch like that. zach put it on me there at 16. but the shot he played at 14 was a joke, wasn't it, though? the side spinner. that basically turned the tide around, because i thought i had control. he was going to probably make bogey there if he putted it. he'd have a hard time keeping it on the green. he played a heck of a shot. turned the tide. i'm one down, playing the last couple holes and hit two good putt. >> how important was the putt at 17. >> it gives me a chance to win
6:03 pm
it outright. if i don't make that putt. we come down to 18, it's in zach's control. he makes birdie, i can't win. i wanted to at least give myself a chance where a birdie could force a playoff, birdie could win. at least have options. and that putt was huge. >> if you could describe your emotion right now, would it be more joy, satisfaction, relief? how would you describe it? >> it feels awesome, whatever it is. >> does this open the flood gates maybe for next year now that you've done this at the end of the year? it may be unofficial, but it's pretty official to you, i imagine. >> you have to probably look at how jimmy did a few years ago. jimmy came in here, won here and went off and had a heck of a year. and maybe hopefully i can do the same. >> besides making yourself happy, made a whole lot of people out here happy. >> it was incredible having them come out this week and support the event, support what we're trying to do for kids. today was just a picture-perfect day. we're playing in basically a dome today. typical so cal day. i think everybody enjoyed it. >> way to go. >> thanks.
6:04 pm
>> jimmy? >> thanks very much, mark. zach, you called tiger woods the best player you've ever played golf with. given that, he birdies the final two holes to win. how do you walk away from this? what are your feelings? >> well, i mean, i'm obviously disappointed. i mean, just from the fact that i didn't come out on top. that was the goal starting the week, as it is any week. but more positive than negatives. i'm not going to take anything negative away from this week. i felt like i had my game going for the most part. i didn't play particularly well early on in the week. it probably caught up with me today. all that being said, yeah, he birdies the last two holes, makes two great putts. tip your hat. >> was there any particular shot you'd like back? obviously other than the putt at 18. >> i can think of a couple three footers i missed, yeah. i'd take those back in a heartbeat. woulda, coulda, shoulda. i probably made putts i shouldn't have too. it all evens out. i didn't have my a-game, but i'm proud of the way i handled the situation and certainly stuck to
6:05 pm
my process and continued to fight. i was two down at one time, i think. so, i mean, you know, it is what it is. but i love this course. i love everything that this tournament does, chevron in particular. and certainly tiger and his foundation, hats off to them. >> zach, you're very gracious for staying. thanks. congratulations on a great week. back to dan hicks. >> zach certainly didn't give it away. tiger took it away down the stretch. there's winning, and there's winning in tiger-esque style. birdie birdie to get to ten under. your final thoughts. >> to the other guys on the tour, look out. 2012, i think he's figured it out. >> he moves from 52nd to 21st in the world golf rankings. that's a big jump, but still a long way away from where he was at one time, number one in the world. it's the first victory for tiger and joey lacava. lacava, the former long-time caddie for fred couples in just his fougrth event teams up with tiger. they're a winner. tiger goes birdie, birdie, to

there's no stipulation on the size of the structures, so this should be a non-issue. >> reporter: and back out live, this is the structure that's in question, that's in dispute. there are about six protesters that remain on the roof of the building. again, police have indicated that they need to come down from this building. those stickers or signs were placed on the building indicating that it has been condemned. so there is a very large crowd here, there's been a large crowd here all day, watching this activity. police, at this point, we don't know what they're going to do to try to get these protesters down. everyone here, obviously hoping that this does have a peaceful end. they're saying this is a peaceful protest, but it's unclear what police are going to do to get the protesters down, but they've ruled this structure to be unsafe, and at some point, they say that those protesters have to come down. reporting live from mcpherson square, darcy spencer, news 4. back to you, jim. >> darcy, thank. police are trying to figure out who stabbed a woman to death

nice day to do it today. and tomorrow, not such a bad day. of course, the real problem with tomorrow is that it is monday. yes, indeed. sunshine also is about ready to become a very scars commodity here in the mid-atlantic, as i think the clouds are going to be on the increase tomorrow and may stick around for much of the upcoming week. so i hope you enjoyed your weekend sunshine. out there for now, still a generally clear sky over washington. as you look live at the washington monument in downtown, a beautiful evening out there. temperatures have held pretty steady here the last couple of hours. we made 55 for a high temperature this afternoon. we're down to only 50 degrees here at the 6:00 hour. the winds have gone back down to calm. i do think a general light south-southwesterly wind will be around for much of the overnight hours. with a little hint of a south wind around here, we might have a bit more patchy fog first thing tomorrow morning. but for now, your sunday evening looks very pleasant. evening temperatures already in the mid- to upper 40s to near 50 degrees. should generally hold in the mid- to upper 40s between now and the 11:00 hour.
6:27 pm
if you're going to do any dog walking here on your sunday evening, relatively nice. just a light jacket and scarf out there. no rain to worry about at all. all the clear sky overseas head will eventually lead to cloud cover, unfortunately. rain showers, steady rains, at that, across much of central and northwestern ohio, all part of a very long weather front, that extends from the great lakes all the way down to the gulf coast. and all that moisture is, for better or for worse, coming in our direction, just in time for the work and school week upcoming. you can see the high and mid-level cloudiness streaking into areas of western virginia. those clouds will be arriving overnight and you'll get a break of sunshine early tomorrow. the clouds will win out. mild tomorrow and wet and cloudy around here for much of the week. half an inch to maybe an inch of rain. could get a little bit more than that and we'll have to see how it all plays out. for the overnight hour, increasing clouds and chilly. a little patchy fog as well. start-off temperatures on your monday morning, upper 30s in the western suburbs to mid-40s in town and by the bay.
6:28 pm
for tomorrow, plenty of clouds around, but mild. temperatures tomorrow back up to near 60 degrees in many spots, courtesy of the south breeze. enjoy it. that's the last dry day for a while. tuesday looks kind of showery. wednesday, more clouds than rain, but still very little if anything in the way of sunshine on wednesday. thursday looks like another bout of rain and that will be a cold rain around here. could even see snowflakes in the west virginia mountains late thursday night. have to keep you posted on that. doesn't look like we have enough cold air to cause problems here, but anytime you can talk about snowflakes, that's always good. >> thank you, chuck. coming up in sports tonight, more on the reported suspensions of two members of the redskins. and on the field, it's a fourth quarter flop for the burgundy and gold.
