playoffs, the season hasn't gone the way you want it to go and the coach is upset. the fans aren't happy with you. i think they piped it in. three quarters enough. they get to go home, get away from here. we have all been there. a lot of players have been there with the season tanked the way this did. the last 15 minutes. look at the clock and say run the ball, keep the ball. keep the clock running. i think they laid down. you don't want to say gives up. they saw the clock running. let him in the zone. >> definitely watching the clock. one guy, my best guess, not doing that is london fletcher. the leading tackler. he really is the heart and soul of this entire team. how important is it that he's a free agent? >> it's as important as having a head coach. a lot of what he does is brings stability to the team, not just

defense, but the team in general. he's the oldest player, but also the best player of the team. he's the most important person outside of mike shanahan and they don't have a choice. all the bargaining chips are here. he did have to pay the man. >> he's 36 years old. >> he's still playing, i'm not. i have no interest in that. i'm telling you, he has to make it work. >> london fletcher, this morning in the locker room, we caught up with him on being back with the redskins. >> i was telling you i was wanted in st. louis and buffalo. they want me, but my level of appreciation wasn't the same, so, we have to figure that part out. >> it's how we play. >> they come and put something on the table that you have to really look at and, you know, obviously, as i mentioned

before, my first preference is here in washington. i want to be part of something where i established something. call me crazy, but like i said, it's also up to them whether i'm here or not. >> mike shanahan makes the final decisions in this organization. he says bringing fletcher back is a priority. he hasn't said what is going to happen to his two quarterbacks. i know you believe you have to bring back at least one of the two, grossman or beck. they said they had no idea where they would be playing next year. >> wow. >> i don't know anything right now. but i do know that, you know, i'm going to work at it like i'm the starter somewhere and figure out a way to improve and when i do get an opportunity, make the best of it. >> things can always change.
6:55 pm
i have had conversations in the past, not coaches of this team, but other teams. they have an idea of what is going to happen. the next day, things change. that's the nfl. the only thing i can control is the way i work, the way i prepare. it didn't shake it down. >> i know you think they have to bring one of them back. i asked mike and kyle shanahan, do you have a have a guy here that's been in your system and they said not necessarily. >> one has to teach r.j. the system. they have to teach whoever is going to play quarterback, have to help them in the locker room. coaches can't come in there. they have to lead them through the play book. that's where this thing has to be. >> robert griffin iii, a lot of people would like to see him in

a burgundy and gold uniform. you are caught between a rock and a hard place. vance? >> let's mortgage. let's park it. let's do what we need to do. it seems critical to me. >> we have to get a good quarterback. a franchise quarterback. >> thank you guys. >> you're welcome. coming up,
