faces prison time on charges he stole several hundred thousand dollars and lied on his taxes. the federal charges were filed today. good afternoon, i'm jim handly. >> i'm barbara harrison in for pat lawson muse. harry thomas jr. is accused of stealing money. may mayor vincent gray is urging him to resign immediately. while everyone is presumed innocent until proven otherwise, you must be held accountable for your actions. tom sherwood has the latest. tom? >> reporter: barbara, embezzlement, a lavish lifestyle, it all came crashing down today. for months, harry thomas jr. has been denying wrong doing in council duties. >> i was not going to settle on something i did not do. i think my integrity is more. if you asked me who i wanted to

see, i think about my children, first. >> reporter: they are charging him with counts of stealing 3 $353,000. and filing false income tax returns from 2007 to 2009. he's expected to appear in court tomorrow to respond to charges. normally indicated thomas will plead guilty and reached a plea agreement. he's is son of harry thomas sr. and was reelected in 2010 but dogged with complaint he was misuses city money. federal fbi and irs agents got

four people clinging to a beer cooler in the pacific ocean were rescued off the coast of sydney. they were on a fishing trip when the boat caught fire and sank. police say the cooler, along with life jackets helped keep the group afloat. rescuers located them after 45 minutes. no one was seriously injured. the ex-wife of tiger woods tore down their home in florida. she bought the house in march. there were six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. she plans to build a brand-new home on the same property. the website says she is living in a nearby mansion until the
