this evening. even though we haven't got an lot, we are going to see this wave of some moderate and heavy rain moving into our area in the next hour or so 46 the temperature, cooler that yesterday, but a little above average here in temperatures. wind out of the east at 3 miles per hour but any rain that we get, moderate or heavy will allow the winds to pick up a bit. temperatures throughout the area, 43 in fairfax county, rens and chantilly, mount rainier, adelphi, 46. 43 up to the north in montgomery county. warm spot, 48, annapolis, maryland. temperatures, those will be rising during the overnight period to about 50 degrees by 11 p.m. so, a mild overnight with more, much more rain that is going to be moving n meanwhile, as we take a look ahead, our weather coming up, it is going to be very odd the next 36 to 48 hours. i will have the details on that jim, in just a couple of minutes. >> all right. we will check back in a bit, veronica. thank you. the private video diaries of

casey anthony have been posted on the internet now. anthony says it was done without her permission and that she is the victim of a hacker. her claim surfaced in a probation report released by florida correction officials. nbc's mark potter has our story. >> reporter: casey anthony says she is not happy that her video diaries now on the internet. a second video from anthony has emerged where this time, she has red hair and shows off new piercings. >> top of my ear. >> reporter: anthony claims this and another video were meant to be private and complains in her monthly probation report that someone tamp weird her computer, saying, "my computer was recently hacked. private videos that were recorded." in that same report, a probation official writes, "offender upset that computer was hacked and videos have been downloaded to youtube." >> not guilty. >> reporter: after being tried and found not guilty for the death of her daughter, caylee, casey anthony is now serving a

one-year probation in florida for passing bad checks. >> just starting to figure out my new computer. >> reporter: in the first video diary, anthony says she hopes to shorten her probation period and leave the state. her attorney, jose baez, speaking on fox, says the thoughts on those videos were never meant to be shared. >> i think a person who is in a situation like casey just wants to have some way of expressing themselves. >> reporter: baez says no one should read anything into what anthony says on the videos, which were supposed to be personal. for "today", mark porter, nbc news, miami. a 13-month-old was found alone in a tent at the occupy encampment at mcpherson square today. this is exclusive video of a child being taken out of an ambulance after she was checked out by emts. the little girl was discovered by a woman this morning wearing only a onesie. park police say they found a man a half hour later who claimed tonight girl's guardian. he was arrested and charged with

the videos show everything from accidents with cars and pedestrians to near-misses. wtop says it has obtained hundreds of these shocking video clips. metro's acting superintendent of bus transportation told the station the video can sometimes be used to train drivers and other times, drivers are punished when the video is reviewed. police in montgomery county say two men who invaded a bethesda home are still on the loose this afternoon. this started just before 7:00 this morning on barden road. investigators say two men went into a house and tied everybody in the house up. news4's tracee wilkins has the story. >> reporter: this domestic worker was transported to the hospital for examination after police say two masked gunmen forced her into the home of the family she works for and began a home invasion that lasted for at least 45 minutes. >> they were all tied up and they went through the house to various property through the house, which i don't know what

they took at this point. then they left inside the vehicle, which was -- belonged to the housekeeper. >> reporter: it happened in the 9200 block of barnd road in bethesda at 7:00 this morning, three victims of this home invasion, a mother, her young teenaged son and the housekeeper. police say all injuries were minor. only the domestic worker was transported to the hospital for evaluation. police are still assessing exactly what was taken from inside of the home but they do know that the gunman made off with the domestic worker's gray ford expedition with maryland tag 4 ae 7450. it has a mcdaniel college sticker on the back. they do still have a lookout for that vehicle and they are asking anyone who see it is to go ahead and contact police. but there have been a number of robberies here in the bethesda area as well but police are saying a home invasion is something they have not seep in some time. tracy willing, news4. just moments ago, police released this surveillance imam

of a man they believe is one of the suspects in this case. they say he is also a suspect in a separate home invation in wheaton that happened yesterday. news4's pat comes will have the latest on the investigation and the search for the suspects in a live report coming up at 5:00. today, virginia lawmakers returned to the state house in richmond for a new legislative session. >> it's a budget-writing year and governor bob mcdonnell has a plan that puts higher education and transportation at the top of the list. a controversial personhood bill is expected to be a major issue, defining conception as the beginning of life. opponents say this bill is an effort to outlaw abortion in the commonwealth. there will also be a focus on the power struggle in the senate where democrats and republicans have an equal number of senators. that means, republican lieutenant governor could be the deciding vote in key issues. maryland's general assembly is also back in session today. one of the key issues this

session will be a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. last year that bill passed in the senate but died in the house. resident does face a major gas tax hike to pay for transportation projects. the gas tax currently at 23.5 cents a gallon and could jump to 38.5 cents a gallon. lawmakers are looking into increasing fees for car registration as wells, as well as titling and inspections to help pay for transportation projects. we will have full reports from annapolis and from richmond coming up on news4 at 5:00. now to presidential politics. mitt romney won the nation's first primary last night. and he is hoping that back-to-back victories new hampshire and iowa will build momentum. the gop nomination race now shifts to the south, with the south carolina primary in ten days. the sunshine state in 20. brian mooar reports. >> reporter: mitt romney ran a political gauntlet in his own backyard and emerged with a convincing win in new hampshire

but now, he is headed south. >> i have got an uphill climb in south carolina ahead of me. >> reporter: the south carolina primary is ten days away and romney is hoping to do exactly what he did in new hampshire. he captured 39% of the vote, winning over enough conservatives to claim victory white other candidates canceled each other out. >> if i can get that going for me in other states coming up, i'm going to be in a very good position to get the nomination. >> reporter: ron paul finished second, but he is on the ground and fighting to do better in south carolina. >> i think we sent out a pretty positive message last night out of new hampshire. and i think south carolina is next on the list. >> reporter: jon huntsman, who had pinned his hopes on new hampshire, finished third. newt gingrich, rick santorum and rick perry are all hoping for a stronger showing in the south, where social conservatives have been slow to embrace romney. >> i think that he will grow weaker and weaker very fast. >> reporter: while gingrich says romney's too far to the left,

it is estimated that food allergies affect 6 to 8% of children under the able of 5 and 3% of adults. in news, the recent death of a virginia girl is raising new questions about the way schools and parents handle children who suffer from severe allergies. 7-year-old amaria johnson died last week after being exposed to peanut at her school outside richmond. so, how can you protect your child? dr. jackie saabet, a family allergy and asthma care in gaithersburg is here with advice for all of us. so dr. jackie, what is the most important step that a parent can take? >> the first thing is to get diagnosed. if you don't have the diagnosis and you know for sure this is what you are up against, all the rest of the stages can't follow. you need to get that correct diagnosis to be able to tell all the people that are going to be around your child that this is, in fact, a life-threatening allergy. >> okay. once you get the diagnosis, you

say that you have to have a treatment plan. so, what should be on the treatment plan checklist? >> so it is a checklist, because it is all going to happen within seconds when you actually put it into practice. and the first thing that's going to happen is know to act quickly you meaning get out there and use that epinephrine pen immediately. don't wait and say let me see what happens this time that time could be the last time. so act quickly. second would be use epinephrine and only epinephrine in these life-threatening situations. people are confused on this they want to use the over-the-counter benadryl and that is not safe. people die when they don't have access to epinephrine and their epi pen quickly. the last one would be training. now, again this would be something you would do before the reaction ever happened, where you actually did, we have talked about before, thing likes a food allergy drill, you walk the people in the school through what happens when your child shows up. again, the cases have happened where children have come to the

school nurse and it takes too long to actually find their epi pen and give it to them. >> you want to make sure the folks at the school know, that the brothers and sisters, that the friends, that the aftercare provider -- >> right. >> babysitter. if you are an adult, make sure your co-workers know as well, make sure you know also how to use it. >> you mentioned access, but epi pens are not accessible to everyone. you can find defibrillators nowadays everywhere but not epi pens. >> again, coming back to the beginning stages, once you have that diagnosis, you need to be able to follow up and get a prescription, the only way you can get an epi pen is through a physician. so, make sure that you've got that and you've got it filled and then bring it with you. here again there are quite a few myths. the first one which is can you have your epi pen at school? absolutely you can have it at school in the nurse's office but they can only accept it if you filled out all the forms. you can have it carried with you as a teenager if you'd like. you can also have it with you whenever you go out. somehow, miraculously, women have figured out how to plan for

all kind of emergencies that they pack in their purse but -- >> not that? >> not that epi pen. >> can you take it on the -- it is a sharp object? >> you can take it on a plane -- >> on a plane rather. >> this is something a lot of people don't understand, of course you can take it on plane, it is a life-saving medication. it does have a sharp object and it does have very strong medication in it, as long as your epi pen is in your name with the prescription on it and you have got the box, absolutely, you are putting it through the screening are but you should -- and take it on the plane, have it with you everywhere. it doesn't do any good to say i have a epee pep but it is sitting home in my medicine cabinet. >> doctor, thanks. >> thank you. >> all right. and more information about food allergies and other health matters will be available over the weekend, this weekend, at nbc 4's health and fitness expo. that's taking place at the walter e. washington convention center in northwest. doors will open from 9 to 5 both saturday and sunday. admission, of course is free. health information, screenings and fun activities will be available for all. jim? the golden globes are coming

going to see a big warmup coming our way tomorrow, but first, talk about the heavy rain moving into the area tonight. more moderate, heavy rain. we have got even patchy fog out there right now. take a look at the radar storm for doppler right now, heavy rain touching on areas south of fredericksburg, virginia, and leonardtown, maryland. making its way north-northeast ward right up into much of our area here over the next couple of hours. you can see hours around leonardup leonar leonardtown now, advancing northward into culpepper, up into quantico, waldorf and calvert beach the next couple of minutes and then, again, throughout a good part of the evening, more of the pockets of moderate and heavy rain, even though we have only pick and you few hundred inches of rain, we could get a half to three quarters of an inch, many locations, 46 now, feels like 41. temperatures running above average. 39 degrees, that's our cool spot, mount airy, maryland,

frederick, 47, down to the south, pax river, huge range in temperatures. down to the south, we have got 54 degrees in bristle, tennessee, 56 in lexington, a lot of mild air to the southwest and it is right down there around eastern kentucky and tennessee, where our main weather system is. so, during the overnight, we will go to 50 degrees. by 11 p.m., temperatures rising. some breezy conditions, especially with any of the heavier showers and rain that we get into the area. then tomorrow morning, i think at 5 a.m., the rain will be ending, 49 to 47 degree, we will drop a little bit, but still mild even when the rain ends. and then temperatures will be rising again. there is a look at our storm system, area of low pressure advancing to the north and northeast, we get the rain that will be ending early tomorrow, oddly mild, without much going on, then, oh oh, there it is, some flurries and cold air and windy conditions coming through for friday. very, very wild, on friday

private and she has complained in her monthly probation report that somebody tampered with her computer. anthony was convicted -- acquitted, rather, acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter back in july. she is now serving a one-year probationary period in there for passing bad checks. police in montgomery county are looking for a man who they say invaded a home in bethesda. it happened this morning on barden road, tied up three people inside, stole a gray expedition with a mcdaniel college sticker on the back this surveillance image shows the man police are looking for. we will have much more coming up in a live report at 5:00 tonight. mitt romney got what he wanted in new hampshire. analysts say he needed a big win there after his slim win in iowa and republican voters deliver nerd yesterday's primary. romney won with 39% of the vote, 16% more than second place finisher ron paul. jon huntsman came in third. on wall street, stocks wound

up on a flat note today over continued concern over the euro zone. the dow fell 13 point, nasdaq up 8, s & p 500 ended with a net change of zero. now to a frightening and unusual attempted robbery at a bank in arkansas. the suspect didn't rob the bank himself. instead, he found an unsuspecting grandmother and strapped what he told her was a bomb to her ankle. nbc's tom trang has more. >> reporter: that is 73-year-old betty davis led out of the harvest bank after some of the most terrifying moments of her life. police just removed what she had been told was a bomb attached to her ankle. >> it was a very scary situation. >> reporter: davis told investigators the ordeal started monday when a man knocked on the door of her house, claiming to be injured. >> when i went to the door and the man, you know, he was out there and he told me that he was hurt, i did a foolish thing, i went out the door. >> opened the door and said let

call somebody for you. and he got up and grabbed her. >> reporter: davis says the suspect tied her up and eventually strapped what he said was a bomb to her ankle. flash what he had claim was a detonator. >> he showed her the debt ton negotiate and all i have to do is push this button. >> reporter: investigators say he ambushed davis' husband, herbert, when he came home. he bound him to a chair using duct tape you the elderly couple left helpless with an armed suspect. >> he just wanted money and he held a gun at them and made her go with him to the bank. >> reporter: with that sinister device attached to her ankle, davis says she was forced to drive ten miles to the bank and withdraw money from her account. >> if she would extract some money, then they would both be released up harmed. >> reporter: davis walked in around 10:30 monday morning. once inside, she frantically revealed to bank workers she had a bomb, the bank was evacuated as davis desperately waited for help. by the time police and bomb squad arrived and detached deet

virks the kidnapper was gone. >> their whole world has been disrupted by this person and that is a shame. >> wither type. yes, we are fine. >> everyone is okay. all you can really pray for. >> investigators say they believe davis' account. they say when they went to her home, her husband was still bound to the chair but he is fine. as for the device, turned out it wasn't an explosive after all. the suspect is still on the run. joran van der sloot confessed in court today that he did kill a young peruvian woman. van der sloot killed 21-year-old stephanie flores in may of 2010. they met while gambling at a casino. after pleading guilty today, van der sloot apologized and said he was truly sorry. then his lawyer argued the murder was the result of psychological trauma his client suffered from the falout of the disappear perhaps of natalee holloway. she vanished in '05 during a high school trip to aruba where van der sloot grew up. she was with him on the night she disappeared. van der sloot will be sentenced

on friday. ford is recalling nearly half a million vehicles due to problems that can cause fires or loss of power. the models affected include the 2004 and 2005 ford free star around the mercury monterey. the automaker says the minivans can stop suddenly if the torque converter output shaft fails. the 2001 and '2 models of the ford escape are also being recalled. the u. vs may leak brake fluid that can lead to corrosion and cause fire no injuries have been reported. the automaker will make free repairs to those vehicles. coming up on news4 at 4:00, catch a thief, a shocking discovery when a 12-year-old girl hides a camera in h bedroom, thinking she is going to catch her sisters messing with her stuff. and another child turns to her ipod to summon help when trouble breaks out at her house. ♪

a connecticut girl is being called very resourceful after using her ipod to contact police for a help. police in farmington say the girl's parents were having an argument on monday when the girl's father ripped the phone out of the wall. so the girl feared for her mother's life and grabbed her ipod. she googled the police chief's

e-mail and wrote to him for help. police arrived and they charged both parents with disorderly conduct. her father is facing charges for third degree assault for allegedly choking his wife. a 12-year-old girl snags a thief using her laptop's web camera. halley pritchard was trying to catch her sisters going through her room and her stuff when she wasn't home but police say that's not all she caught. nbc's cheryl hurd reports. >> i had it under a bump of pillows over here and tid kind of so you could see pretty much my whole room. >> reporter: 12-year-old halley pritchard tells us she positioned her laptop camera perfectly to catch a thief. >> i was trying to catch my sister 'cause they usually take things out of my room. >> reporter: only, the thief she caught on camera was not her sibling. the computer-savvy 12-year-old forgot her parents scheduled a last-minute open house with a realtor. what ended up happening next caught everyone by surprise.
