romney. senator ron paul is defending himself he was involved with a company that produced racially charged newsletter. reporting he approved racial ant anti-semitic and anti-gay articles in the 1990s. three people in the business described paul's involvement. paul denies the accusation and says he never read the newsletter. it was a meeting of the minds thoichb val office. president obama met with former president george h.w. bush and his former spresident son georg w. bush. they will go to the alfalfa club later. several went to new

hampshire to push to be recognized. the meeting with state officials didn't last long as the granite lawmakers shot down the mayor's pleas to support d.c. statehood rejecting the proposal saying it violate violates the constitution. we have several traffic alerts. first, two-lanes closed on i-270 northbound at shady grove road. that's so maryland's highway administration can do a routine inspection on the bridge there. the lanes closed at 4:30 and should be open just before noon. in northern virginia, they will close a ramp at tyson's corner today. crews will shut down the lamp to the inner beltway to the pipe in about half hour so they can install a grudbridge on 495. drivers will be detoured to the exit for southbound cham bridge road. it will be closed until 2:00 and

could cause traffic delays on route 7. finally, you might want to avoid the telegraph road area. the ramps from telegraph road to the beltway will be closed overnight. it's all part of the ongoing wilson bridge project. you will neat some patience if you're taking metro this weekend. two redline stations, woodley park and cleveland park are closed. shuttles are taking passengers between dupont circle and van ness and between greenland squares and smithsonian, single tracking and branch avenue. yellow line trains will only go between huntington and mt. vernon square. riders should use the green line to complete their trip. this weekend, fair oaks mall

>> montgomery county police say they have busted at least four massage parlors acting as brothels. police of arrested at least four suspects believed to be running the illegal businesses. detectives say the investigation started last year after seeing ads for the massage parlors on adult internet sites. >> beginning in september 2009, we noticed a rise from internet websites and people from the community, these businesses operating around other business, people starting to notice unusual behavior occurring. >> police believe there are more of these businesses operating in the rockville area. if you have any other information about illegal massage parlor, they ask you to

call montgomery county police at 240-773-5958. that's the number again at the bottom of your screen. >> the man known as the barefoot bandit will spend the next six years behind bars. colton harris-moore-wise sentenced to six years. he went on a crime spree in 2008 breaking out of a detention facility, stealing a plane and robbing a bank. he committed most of these crimes while not wearing shoes earning him the nickname, "the barefoot bandit." the man convicted of mls manslaughter of michael jackson wants out of jail. he says he is not a danger to society and wants to support his seven children. jackson died from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol administered by murray.

he is sentenced to four years but will only likely spend half of that time in jail. the former penn state coach accused of sexually accusing ten boys is now asking for permission to see his grandchildren. jerry sandusky filed the motion yesterday asking he be allowed to contact his 11 grandchildren by e-mail, phone, text, skype and allowed to visit him at home if accompanied by parent. he is under house arrest and forbidden contact with any under 18. a judge is expected to make a decision on the request next month. new details emerge about bp's knowledge about the horizon disaster. it had an e-mail conversation talking about the potential problems the oil spill could cause and also made sure this information was not shared with people outside the company. bp agreed to release the e-mails as part of the ongoing federal court case against them.

a scary scene in kentucky as a cargo ship took out part of a bridge. it happened thursday night. the ship was delivering rocket parts to cape canaveral when it slammed into the bridge. the bridge carries a major kentucky highway over the tennessee river. several cars were crossing at the time of the accident. luckily, no one was hurt. ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. >> there's plenty of horsepower at the washington convention center as the annual washington auto show is under way. the 10 day event started yesterday. more than 700 cars from 42 manufacturers are on display. besides featuring the newest and coolest cars out there, there's a lot of new technology for drivers to enjoy. >> it's really a brave new world with cars today. the important thing is that a lot of the things that used to be options are now, you know, you're finding them as standard equipment, particularly in some of, you know, your more

gambling and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. federal agents also arrested an associate of the gabino crime family. the man who first topped off city officials to questionable spending by council member harry thomas is running for his seat. tim day, an accountant who ran against thomas in 2010 filed with the board of elections yesterday. thomas resigned from the council earlier this month and pleaded guilty to stealing more than $350,000 from the city to spend on a lavish lifestyle. a special election will be held may 15th. former prince george's county executive, jack johnson has been disbarred from practicing court in maryland, he was ruled ineligible yesterday. he was the county attorney before becoming county executive. he was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after being convicted on corruption charges last year.

fans got the opportunity to pay their respects yesterday during a public viewing and hundreds waited hours to attend. james died last week after suffering complications from leukemia. she would have turned 74 on wednesday. you soon may be able to own part of facebook. the social network is expected to file papers as early as next week to sell an initial offering of stock to the public. the company, which could reach a billion users this year, could be valued up to $100 billion. and could raise as much as $10 billion during the offering. it will take 3-4 months after the papers are filed for the stock to be sold to the public. you might see fewer tweets today as some users are boycotting the social network. earlier this week, twitter announced they would remove tweets if a specific country has restrictions against certain content. the company said the tweets would be unavailable to those in the country but still visible to

today, hundreds of iraq war veterans will get the recognition they deserve. st. louis is throwing the country's first big welcome home parade for vets since they left iraq in december. thousands are expected to show for the big parade. local businesses helped out by donating supplies and manpower to help build floats. organizers say the idea came from the recent cardinals world series parade. it will feature more than 80 floats, marching bands and famous budweiser clydesdales. you heard it and this proves it, there is no such thing as bad press.

welcome back, everyone. students in fairfax county will have more options next year when it comes to choosing classes. >> the school board has done an about face and reinstated some honors level classes. the courses were faced out in an effort by the school superintendent in hopes students would choose the more rigorous advanced placement courses. parents complain saying the honors courses provide a new middle ground. six new courses help bring the honors courses backs. >> it gives students options that will help them realize their full potential. every child is different. to provide them the opportunity to select what best meets their needs for that particular course
