>> says she was romanced by j.f.k. in jackie's bedroom, no less. now, she's going public with her story. plus, clint eastwood responds to criticism of his super bowl commercial and the message behind it. >> but, first, to breaking news, flames rip through a big house in northeast washington tonight. when crews saw fire coming from both floors, firefighters had to climb on to the roof to try to save the house. nobody was injured. it's not yet clear how this fire started. >> we have a developing story out of prince george's county. two police officers just suspended. they are accused of lying. corporal donald taylor claims he fired his weapon when the suspect went for his gun. however, video doesn't support that claim. a witnessing officer has also been suspended. no one was hurt when the officer

committee becomes law. >> texting behind the wheel is already a secondary offense meaning you can be ticketed for driving while texting only if you've been pulled over for another offense. this new bill would change that. >> fairfax county lawmaker says his bill authorizing cops to pull over a texting driver is in response to a huge surge of traffic accidents caused by drivers using their phone. >> this is so addictive that people keep doing it. unless you penalize them, they won't change their behavior. and unless you have tougher laws, things will continue as they are. >> motorists agree. tougher laws are needed to cut down on distracted driving. >> if it causes a lot of accidents, then, yes, i think that they should be a lot more stricter. >> it will stop a lot of accidents, too, because a lot of people do be on their phone a lot. a lot a lo. . >> the bill would not apply to talking on the cell phone while driving.

in fairfax county, news 4. >> tonight, motel six is addressing claims a baby ingested cocaine. the child's mother says the teething toddler found a spoon covered in cocaine and put it in his mouth. police say the spoon did test positive. >> this was a really bad experience. horrible. i don't know if there could be a long term e fekt from it. >> the family claims when the motel moved the family to a different room, they found a crack pipe. in a statement to news 4, it takes guests concerns very seriously and management is taking standards. >> d.c. mayor state of the district speech could become a battle between the fire department's leadership and its rank in file. a d.c. fire ems spokesmen tells news 4 there's misinformation that going to firefighters. a lot of them got a letter saying that members who are

she says she kept the affair secret until 2003 when a historian mentioned her in a bieg ra fi. speaking exclus efly with nbc, alfred said it started with an encounter in an indoor pool at the white house. she says another staffer invited her for a swim not mentioning the president would be there. according to alfred, kennedy then invited her to a private tour of residence. >> he was the president. he was this unbelievably handsome man, 45 years old, not overpowered physically that someone had grabbed me and made me do something. but i wasn't really willing to do because i really think i was willing to do it. >> several people tied to the administration have confirmed alfred's presence at the time. but they cannot confirm the intimate details. you can see the full interview

on rock center this wednesday night at 9:00 right here on nbc 4. >> thanks, angie. tonight, clint eastwood is defending his appearance in a super bowl spot. the u.s. economy will bounce back just like detroit's auto industry. some claim the ad is an endorsement for the auto bail out and president obama. tonight, in a statement, eastwood says he is not affiliated with the president and he thinks all politicians will agree with the message of job growth and the spirit of america. mitt romney is hoping to keep the momentum going into a slate of caucuses in minnesota. romney took aim at president obama today saying he did little to help the economy. newt gingrich and rik santorum continue to bash romney's moderate political views. polls show that romney is ahead in colorado, but santorum, with a slight edge in minnesota. now to a heartbreaking story. police can say that josh powell

planned the house explosion that killed him and his two young sons. authorities found gasoline and other axel rants. powell was a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, susan, who disappeared in utah in 2009. police believe he planned the explosion after his 7-year-old son saw his mother in the trunk of her car. he also sents e-mails to people he knew shortly before the explosion. >> they dictate what to do with the utilities, what to do with his money, what to do with certain aspects of his life. >> none of the e-mails said anything about what to happen to his wife, susan. >> tonight, a statement from the virginia aide worker who were rescued by navy seals. 32-year-old jessica buccanon thanked president obama and those who orchestrated her rescue. she says she's overwhelmed by the support that she has received when she's returned

we've got some nice weather coming in for tomorrow. and then i really think we're going to start to see a little bit more winter. it does look like mother nature may at least give us a little bit of a taste. take a look out there right now, the national archives, a beautiful evening tonight. it is just gorgeous across the area. almost a full moon. the full moon will be tomorrow. but you step outside tonight, you get a very good shot of it. high temperature, we got up to 52 degrees again. your low this morning was 29 degrees. that is the coldest morning we have seen in just about two weeks. and we're not going to get anywhere near that number as we make our way through the night tonight. some of you may, but look at the temperature right now. 42 degrees at 11:00. currently, 32 in martinsburg, 34 in culpepper. just about everyone last night at this time were already in the 20s. i think some areas make it

around the upper 20s. aened in washington, going down to a low of 36. radar, no rain to talk about in our area. i don't expect to see any until wednesday that's when things start to get interesting. sat late and radar showing a very tiny storm system right there. you're not going to notice this one. by the time you wake up tomorrow morning, this one will be offshore. nice weather across the region. high pressure dominating. high pressure moves off, still very nice tomorrow, but then here comes a couple areas of low pressure and a cold front. here comes the cold front. that should bring in enough cold air that wednesday, with our next frontal boundary and our next storm, we should see some of this come down as snow. best chance, to the north and west of washington, southeast, mostly a rain event. all in all, not a big deal, but it is going to bring us a bit of

w wintry weather. 27 to about 36 degrees. tomorrow, we'll see those numbers right back up there. sunny. more like march and really nice weather. temperatures 52-57 degrees. winds out of the northwest at about 10-15 miles per hour. and then we start to see the changes come during the day on wednesday. we're going for a high of 43. moesz of you will not make it that high. i do think we'll see this moisture move in late in the afternoon starting off as rain and then switching to snow to the north and west. frederick, martinsburg. thursday and friday, well, we warm right back up into the mid upper 40s with plenty of sunshine. a couple of nice days there and then i mentioned winter trying to make a comeback. look at this forecast sunday and monday. if this cold air makes it all the way down here, it could be fridge. i think we could see 20s for highs in some locations.

well, nbc's new show tonight, smash, features a behind-the-scenes look at broadway. now, some local high schoolers will get to see that magic. they've been selected for nbc's making a musical program. it will help the students develop a sustainable music theater program. we visited the school recently when a master theater teacher let students and staff do a workshop to develop their skills! we really want to focus on creating an arts program so that
