it wasn't long before jurors asked to view again the videotaped police interrogation of george huguely, a dvd was sent in along with a big screen monitor. the jury also took some other evidence into the jury room, including the bedroom door. that door to yeardley love's room with the big hole kicked through it. >> two bits of circumstantial evidence are kicking in the door, damaging the door to come in and then simply taking her computer it seems more like a coverup than anything else. probably while she was disabled or helpless. >> reporter: the jurors have several choices before them in deciding what role george huguely played it yeardley love's death. in closing arguments, prosecutors pushed for a murder conviction. they say a drunken, angry huguely broke through love's bedroom door, shook her, hit her head on the floor and left her unconscious on her bed. a roommate found her two hours later, dead, face down on a bloody pillow. the medical examiner's report found she died of blunt force injury to the brain.

but huguely's lawyer salt former uva lacrosse player never meant to hurt his on again/off again girlfriend. their medical experts say an intoxicated love divide asphyxia, essentially suffocating on her bed. even in closing arguments, prosecutor dave chapman seemed to back away from calling the killing premeditated first-degree murder. jurors can also consider a different first-degree murder, felony murder. that is a killing in commission of a robbery and huguely took love's laptop. second degree murderer is another option. is a killing with malicious intent. >> malice is basically the intent to maim, disable, disfigure or kim there is very arguably an intent to disable and if the jury finds that on those instructions, it could be second-degree murder. >> reporter: jurors could also set on one of two less serious charges, voluntary man the law other involuntary manslaughter. jurors have to sort through other lesser charges like

breaking and entering and larceny that relate to the alleged theft of yeardley love's laptop, the taking of that from her bedroom. coming up on news4 at 6:00, a look at the piece of evidence the jury said this afternoon it needed to see. a big change to a republican-sponsored bill that required an intravan nal -- intravaginal ultrasound. women said the intravaginal ultrasound was the equivalent of state-sponsored rain. virginia governor backed away the from the bill saying he asked for the amendments. the requirement was dropped and amended bill pass by 65-32 vote. the new bill only requires an

external ultrasound exam. it will head back to the senate while the sponsor says she will strike the legislation. a man died this afternoon after an accident in a driveway in riverdale, maryland that man was working on a car in the 5000 block of carters lane when the jack slipped and the car fell on top of him. people helping him managed to move the car before the paramedics got there the man die ted hospital. man is in the hospital after he was stabbed in wasn't. investigators not sure whether the man was injured at the cvs or walked into the store after he was hurt. happened about 2:30 this afternoon here in the 12,000 block of georgia avenue. the victim was stabbed in the be a dmoen. poli -- in the beabdomen. officials declared an all-clear after a contractor working in a home thought he found a suspicious device. it happened on ivy oak drive in

the gaithersburg area. the explosives team determined the items did not pose any threat. investigators removed materials from the house and are in the process now of testing them. all streets closed down as a precaution and has since reopened. the zone dree ya, virginia, man charged with plotting a suicide bombing inside the u.s. capitol showed up in court for a bond hearing this afternoon. he waived his right to preliminary and detention hearing and a judge him held without bond. he was arrested friday, charged with attempting to use a weapons of mass destruction. prosecutors say he was headed to the capitol and planned to explode what he believed to be a bomb in a suicide operation. he allegedly discussed the attack with an undercover fbi agent who was posing as a member of al qaeda. metro is offering big relief for weekend riders are next month, just in time for the national cherry blossom festival. starting march 24 hillary clinton the tra-- march 24 hill

the florida primary and a lot has changed since then. newt gingrich was trying to ride the momentum from his surprise wh wh win in south carolina. eight dates after that rick santorum swept colorado, minnesota and missouri. before tonight's latest debate, the latest nbc/marist poll shows romney caught one santorum in michigan. however, the two remain locked in a statistical tie. the survey shows romney with 37% support among republican voters while santorum has 35%. meanwhile, a separate poll of arizona voters finds romney comfortably ahead with 43% to santorum's 27%. five young men facing first-degree murder charges in a deadly d.c. shooting case are in court for the second day of their trial. the shooting in 2010 started over a cheap bracelet that was missing.

five dead, nine wounded, all over a cheap piece of costume jewelry. in the courtroom, five defendants charged in connection with this mass murder. we were all dressed up, they sit all in a row. they could easily be mistaken for college frat brothers. the prosecutor says one of the defendants, anquan carter, knew one of the victims, jordan howe. in fact, before all that shooting began, the prosecutor says, howe and carter were in a room in this building making without their respective girlfriends. but quickly, that mood of love turned to hate. prosecutor says anquan carter was wearing a fake diamond bracelet and then he lost it that night and he thought that jordan howe might have had something to do with it. so the prosecutor says anquan

to someday become an engineer. he has attended lake arbor elementary school since kinder garth. tuesday afternoon, a male substitute teacher in english class felt deandre was misbehaving, talking in class after he was asked to stop. deandre's mother says the substitute teacher assault herd son. >> the scuffle amounted to him forcefully grabbing my son and pushing him to the ground several times. he tried to physically remove him from the classroom in a manner that his glasses fell off his face and he was thrown out into the hallway onto the floor. >> your reaction, as a parent? >> i was devastated. i was shocked. >> reporter: mrs. davis says classmates corroborated her son's story and that the school principal called to tell her that the teach letter not substitute at the school again. >> he woke up this morning and

he asked if the substitute teacher was going to hurt us. and i told him no. meaning, what? >> come here or come to the school. so i kept him home. >> reporter: prince george's public schools issued this statement, any time an allegation of physical abuse occurs, we immediately contact child protective service. we conducted an internal investigation of the incident and found no signs of physical abuse. we will deal with the substitute teacher appropriately. this afternoon, a representative of prince george's county public schools told met teacher has been dismissed. i asked what that means. i was told he is no longer in the school system as a substitute. this is chris gordon, news4. back to you. >> chris, thank you. remains found in a maryland state park are confirmed to be those of a miss prince george's county woman.

29-year-old crystal anderson was last seen on july 26th after someone dropped her off at gas station in forestville in january. a hiker found partial remains at state park in charles county. yesterday, medical examiners identified the remains as anderson. it is not yet clear what led to her death. er andson's mother told news4 her daughter said she had good news to share the night she disappeared. that conversation never happened. police are asking for help in finding a group of happen vandals who caused serious damage to a mosque in fairfax county that sunder construction in shan tilly. investigators say last moment they broke every custom win don't building. damage is estimated at more than $170,000. police believe young people may be involved. they found several empty alcohol bottles in nearby woods a cash reward is being offered in this case. police in montgomery county say drivers have been getting wise to the location of those speed cameras so it's taking a
