anticipate any questions but we still have some. could you come to the microphone please? >> reporter: as you can see, she didn't have much to say, walked right into the building. i wanted to ask if she plans on challenging the penalty or accept responsibility. she says she will go to a driver improvement course and also the county council removed the vehicle she was driving at the time. live here in maryland, i'm shomari stone, news4. >> we are following more breaking news at this hour. now montgomery county, julie carey on the scene of a murder in aspen hill area. >> reporter: one young man is dead and montgomery police have a wide scale search under way for the man they believe is his killer. police called to the 13200 block of superior street around 3:20 this afternoon. inside a home, they found one young man dead of a gunshot wound, another young man was there with him and a third young man, the map believed to be the suspect, had fled the scene. police now have a manhunt under

way for that gunman. they have helicopters overhead and they called in other police agencies to help them in this search. they have been stopping many young people in the area, questioning them, taking their photographs, trying to find out anything they can about this killing that happened this afternoon and trying to find that gunman. they have a description as well. the gunman is described as an hispanic male, 5'6", heavy set, he was last seen wearing a navy blue north face jacket exlight blue jeanses and black timberland boots. all the commotion has brought a lot of neighbors out to the scene this is a very quiet neighborhood. none recall anything like this happening here before but there is a sense that the gunman is not close by. most of the neighbors feeling quite comfortable to stand out here, as i said, a search right now for a gunman somewhere in the aspen hill area. back to you. >> julie carey. a police chases ended in a three-car crash this morning in northeast. police lost the car and then

found it. it was checked at 12th and varn nam streets. it was quite wrecked. near providence hospital. several people in the car jumped out, ran away and they got away, police are still looking for them. two armed men remain on the run after holding up five george mason university students at gunpoint. police tell us they broke into the students' townhouse, shattering their sense of safety t all happened not far from campus in fairfax county. erika gonzalez talked to the victims. >>. >> reporter: in the midst of midtestimony, some george mason university students say being held at gunpoint is the last thing they expected to happen to them. >> i'm in college, like is that real? and in the long run, you know, pointed at your face, practically touching your head. >> reporter: they got surlt price of their lives tuesday night around 11:00. two men, armed with pistols and

wearing face paint and masks, barged into their home and started yelling, "get down" and "get on your knees." >> my roommate, he was just staring at me, don't do anything, do not -- just listen to what he says, don't do anything stupid. >> reporter: evan was able to lock himself in a nearby bathroom and call 911 when the intruders turned their back. he could still heart commands. i'm going to blast your head off, for me, the other side of the door, seeing my best friends on the other side is so hard, i'm one on the safe side. >> reporter: fairfax police arrived with minutes but it was too late, the gunmen got away with pricey cell phones and laptops, police combed the area looking for clues they can snapped pictures of the packaging for a ski max and gloves found near the home and collect it had as evidence. the students say the thieves made entry into the home through a back door they forgot to lock and police say with as many

people that come in and out of the house because of social gatherings, the thieves may have already known the layout of the home. in fairfax county, erika gonzalez, news4. a rockville man is accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife and one of her friends. montgomery county police say daniel mendoza offer and undercover officer 200 bucks and the title to his car if the guy would kill his wife and her friend. he told the officer he could go back to his native honduras sew wouldn't be a suspect. police arrested mendoza yesterday right after that meeting. false alarm again today. a suspicious letter forced students from their classrooms and into the street today. that letter with a white powder inside arrived here at the adams oyster bilingual school on 19th street northwest this morning, police were called in and students evacuated as a precaution. the powder was not hazardous and students returned to class. this week alone, three similar

suspicious letters were sent to businesses. it is now law. one hour ago, virginia governor bob mcdone did sign off on the controversial bill requiring women to undergo an ultrasound before they have an abortion. abortion providers across the state have to start complying by july. 30 people were arrested outside the virginia state capital on saturday protesting this bill. the resultses of super tuesday, mitt romney carried six streets, rick santorum three, newt gingrich, georgia. the biggest prize, ohio, in part because two republican candidate has won the presidency after losing that primary. romney's margin of victory there was a slender 1% but he says he is happy with it. >> i'm prepared to fight all the way to become the nominee and i was pleased with our success last night. obviously, we have got a very strong lead in delegate, a very strong lead in terms of the number of people who have voted for our campaign. >> ron palm has not finished first in a single contest.

times but the whole family was crying, i was just trying to hold on, you know? >> reporter: did you get a chance to see nathaniel sims? >> yes. >> reporter: what do you make of him? >> evil. evil. even though he starts turning state's evidence, he was evil. my son killed and had all the kids killed on south capitol. >> reporter: for the record, sims has pled guilty to five counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. he has yet to be sentenced. live in d.c., i'm pat collins, news4. well, right now, police in herndon, virginia, are searching the area. they are looking for a flasher, a guy exposed him stove children outside a coats elementary about 2:30 this afternoon. he then got away again. police still looking for him. d.c. mayor vincent gray is flatly denying he ever handled cash or money orders during his

campaign for mayor last year. it comes as federal prosecutors step up their investigation into a flood of cash and other funds that boosted the gray campaign. tom sherwood has our story. >> ready. ready. >> we are gonna do this. >> reporter: vince gray ran a short, hectic campaign for mayor in 2010, surprising many with his first campaign finance report in june 2010 showing more than $550,000 in contributions. including unusual money orders for cash and many maximum contributions of $2,000 from cities all around the country. sources tell news4 that even members of gray's own finance committee were surprised at the last-minute cash infusion in june. federal authorities last week raided the home and offices of local businessman jeff thompson, who was a major fund-raiser for gray. sources say prosecutors are looking at the amount and source of contributions thompson handled. on wednesday, mayor gray said he personally had done some fund raising but he flatly denied that he had ever handled cash or

temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above average during the day today. and i think we are going to be about there or warmer during the day tomorrow. all because of high pressure shifting off the coast right now, giving us those south-southwesterly winds right now with plenty of sunshine today. tomorrow, we will have the same wind direction, maybe a little bit farther out of the west, due to a frontal boundry. so you will have a front and an area of high pressure moving together that is going to give us pretty good winds during the day, maybe upwards of 30, 35-mile-an-hour wind gusts, going to be warm, temperatures should climb to near 70. here comes our front, notice the rain ahead of it, maybe not just rain, we could see a couple of thunderstorms during the afternoon, or rather the late evening into the overnight. this is actually friday morning at 1:00 in the morning, look at this line of showers, maybe some storms rumbling on through here. i don't expect anything severe but this front will move on through with those showers and the possible storms and it will be out of here by -- probably by the time you wake up, then we will start see some sunshine by late in the afternoon a little
