surveillance video show as 9-year-old boy being kidnap from school in prince georges county. >> police believe they know who took him and have issued an amber alert to help track hmm down. jackie bensen joins us live. tell us what investigators i saying right now. >> reporter: the little boy is believed to be with his mother and that is a concern because she does not have custody of him. there are concerns about the safety of 9-year-old wuilbert garcia. they would not go into detail. an am bert alert was issued about 8:30 this evening asking people to keep an eye out for 9-year-old wuilbert garcia who was seen wearing a white polo shirt and navy blue pants. police have released a surveillance video. motorists are being asked to keep an eye out for the car, a

black mercedes sedan with dents on the front passenger door. it has 2 ag 0407 license plate. school figures told us they were not informed by the father, who has sole custody of him that, his mother was not allowed to take him from the school. >> in this case we were not fully aware of the circumstances, and so right now we're just really focused on making sure that wuilbert is safe and helping the police in any way that we can to help with this investigation. >> reporter: anyone who has seen 9-year-old wuilbert garcia, his mother sylvia garcia or that black mercedes sedan is asked to call 911 immediately. >> thank you. right now disaster clean-up is under way in southeastern michigan, where at least two

tornadoes touched down. the storms flattened several homes in the town of dexter near ann arbor. a number of funnel clouds were also spotted across the area today. no serious injuries have been reported. >> now to our weather, temperatures soared into record territory today but those were some stormy looking clouds out there tonight. doug is live outside to tell us what's coming next. doug? >> we did have clouds making their way through, some dark clouds, shower activity but no thunderstorms. some of those storms came through michigan. that storm trying to push our way. take a look at the numbers. simply amazing how warm we were able to get today across the area. average high temperature this time of year 56. we got to 82 in the washington area. that was a record. we reached 84 toward dulles. look at fred ricksberg coming in today at 87 degrees. a little cooler now with a little bit of an east wind, only around 50 degrees, 53 in

annapolis and 59 in washington. the cool east wind will cool us down just a little bit but take a look at the storms out to the west. we'll talk about those storms and see if they'll move our way coming up over the next 24 hours or so. i'll have that for you in my forecast. >> thank you. more trouble tonight for a montgomery county middle school. two students at roberto clement shot a classmate with a gun similar to a bee bee gun. this just days after two teachers at that school came to blows right in front of students. >> reporter: the latest incident happened after classes tuesday here at roberto clemente middle school. a student brought this to school, it shoots a small projectile like a bee bee. he and another boy followed a student outside and shot at him. luckily he wasn't seriously hurt. their policy prevents them from

reveal how long the students are being punished but in a situation like this, they could be either suspended or expelled. >> just days earlier, two teachers came to blows at the school. >> i'm concerned about the safety of my kid. >> the principal sent a letter to parents after each incident. she says both are being handled by the school system in what has otherwise by a good year. >> whenever we do have serious incidences, we handle them quickly, comprehensively and collaboratively. >> patrick dunn has an eighth grader here and is president of the pta. >> things happen that are unfortunate, not planned and we would rather they have not but we will grow from them.

>> at this point authorities say they have not yet determined in the students will be charged. in germantown, maryland, news4. >> they have not said when they'll make a decision about the two teachers found fighting. >> an attack happened last sunday, a gay man was shot at the ihop restaurant at 14th and irving street. the next night a man was beaten and robbed a few blocks away on georgia avenue. investigators have not made any arrests. police warn in cases of hate attacks, verbal aggression can quickly escalate to violence. >> to be personally offended by somebody's language is something we're very sensitive to. but i always tell people in particular that the strongest person is the one who is able to walk away and avoid the conflict. a third attack is not being

called a hate crime. >> some georgetown residents are on edge after an apparent burglary sprees. the most recent incident happened last night on the 1,400 block of 36th street. a georgetown student tells us he confronted a burglar and was punched in the face. >> heather maguire had a protective order against her estranged husband. over the weekend police arrested him twice for violating that order, but on monday a judge let him walk free. the next day he shot maguire in his van and dumped her body on the side of the road in kensington on connecticut heave. friends want to know why he was allowed out of jail in the first place. >> how does somebody like that get out after two arrests in 72 hours on violating the protective order against somebody he's already beaten,

stalked and harassed over and over and over. the judge is a disgrace. >> maguire was killed just as her friend was out trying to file another order against him. he killed himself tuesday night as police were closing in on him. >> the u.s. soldier accused of killing 16 afghan civilians this past weekend now has a high-profile lawyer. attorney john be brown says tonight his client was injured twice in iraq and was on his fourth deployment. the soldier is from seattle and asked brown to represent him. his name hasn't been released because there are concerns about the safety of his family. we're told his name will be released tomorrow. brown's previous clients include serial killer ted bundy and the so-called barefoot bandit. >> attorneys for the private accused of leaking classified information asked a judge to dismiss the case today. bradley manning is accused of helping wikileaks make hundreds

of thousands of military reports public. today the government told a judge manning's actions helped al qaeda. attorneys for manning say the government has not given them the information they need to prepare a case so the case should be thrown out. prosecutors say some things can't be released because they're classified. >> skyrockets gas prices are driving down president obama's approval numbers. prices shot up another penny overnight and they're up more than 30 cents a gallon in the past month. it's become a talking point for republicans who say the president is stifling oil drilling and exploration in north america. the president fired back during a speech at prince georges community college today. he says the sus drilling more oil now than when he took office and he blamed his republican rivals for playing pump politics. >> they start acting like we've got a magic wand and we will give you cheap gas forever if you just elect us. >> the white house is denying any plans to tap into the emergency petroleum reserve.

some of those dark clouds coming in. i was out today in shirlington in arlington county, told the people out there outside don't worry, this shower will pass us by. then we saw a couple sprinkles. >> embarrassing, wasn't it? >> sprinkles passed by and nobody had to get up from their meals across the area today. it was simply gorgeous once again. temperatures hit all-time record eyes today. 82 the record at the airport. the previous record set in 1990 at 81 degrees. out there towards dulles, we beat the report by a couple of degree. dulles a high of 84. 59 the actual temperature out there right now with northeast winds at 8 miles an hour. that's the reason for the cooler air. this northeasterly wind coming right off of the ocean. can you see the current temperatures, 64 in manassis, 62 in fredericksburg, easton and

cambridge, a little built of a marine influence, and allies only 53 degrees. martinsberg at 61. here are the high temperatures today82 in washington, 86 in richmond, it was 87 in fredericksburg. look at roanoke coming in at 69. to the north and east, philadelphia only 58 and only 52 degrees in new york city as that marine influence coming off the ocean. that's why we'll start a little cooler tomorrow it and will feel more humid tomorrow. a lot of thunderstorm activity back towards the west and around the pittsburgh region, but this is all going to fall apart before it makes its way our way. i do expect it to reform during tomorrow afternoon, but i don't expect it to be a big deal. right now around our region, though showers that we saw earlier today, they are simply out of here and they'll stay out of here probably through the morning hours. 7:00 on your feature weather forecast, could see a couple of showers around the area, not a

lot. anything that does develop tomorrow will be on the light side. i do expect to see clouds, however, especially early. then tomorrow afternoon, this is around 1:30. notice the shower activity down through manassis, waldorf and southern portions of mayryland. i do not expect severe weather. you may want to take the umbrella with you if you're thinking about heading out and about. partly sunny tomorrow morning, mild, 47 to 56 degrees. winds on the light side. could be some fog around, especially off towards the east. then for tomorrow afternoon, partly sunny, 40% chance of showers, maybe a thunderstorm. it was 75 to about 80 degrees. a little cooler than where we were today but still 20 degrees above average. saturday, a high of 72 for st. patrick's day, 68 on sunday with another chance of showers activity, only a 30% chance. then we move right back up to
