live in washington. we saw them arrest george clooney. >> reporter: also congressman moran was taken into custody as well. let me show you what it is looking like down the street. that's where george cloony aey a number of other activists were speaking before a number of them were taken into custody. accused of denying humanitarian aid to reach the people of sudan. hundreds of people gathered here in protest including actor george clooney who as we just said was arrested. taken into custody. he just returned from a trip to sudan. he was joined by congressman andrews, jim mcgovern, jim moran, also taken into custody. martin luther king iii and hundreds of protesters who have been down here. pretty write much all morning. they are demanding immediate action to top s-- stop sudan's use as a weapon. half a million people in sudan's

newland mountains risk starvation because of the accusations against sthe sudanee president. he's blocking humanitarian aid and mood. here is what george clooney had to say just before his arrest. >> it takes the government to stop raping them and stop star offing them. that's all we ask. >> george clooney just produced a movie where he discusses these exact things. he was there in sudan and at one point in the movie his life was threatened by a bomb that they found there in sudan in the area where they were shooting that had not detonated yet but just proof of what the people in sudan are living with and living through right now. he's using his celebrity to

bring attention to this cause. and today he was arrested on massachusetts avenue just outside of the sudan embassy. tracee wilkins, live in north west, news4. >> what are the charges being -- against those being arrested? >> reporter: he was taken into custody. we don't have charging documents. the way these things go if you are protesting outside of the embassy, the idea is to keep moving because if you are standing still in front of the embassy that's considered a violativia violati violation. there are also automatic kinds of issues with how close you get to the embassy itself. these are the issues i'm sure will come up in charging document it is they are actually charged. at this point they have been taken into custody. >> all right. tracee wilkins reporting live here in northwest washington. thank you. and new today, a missing boy from landover has been found safe. 2600 miles away from home. police say wiuilbert garceia wa

found safe. his father has full custody of the boy. sylvia garcia is in police custody. dr. william hite thanked police for their work in this case and said the school system would now be reviewing its procedures and protocol on releasing students. turning to the weather now and clouds out there clearing somewhat. storm 4 meteorologist tom kierein joins us. we are going to see any sunshine at all today n. >> our hopes are dimming for seeing much sun at all. we had the cloud cover hang in. got soow with quite foggy here around dawn but it has been slowly lifting and brightening. you can see there the dark spots in northern shenandoah valley, around the central blue ridge, rappahannock county, culpeper. they are seeing sun breaking out. green spots are areas getting light rain just a pew sprinkles, warren, clarke county, western maryland and much of eastern west virginia.

drifting off to the east. and as it does we might have a pew sprinkles reaching the metro area over the next couple of hours. and out ahead of that, it is only in the 50s now. more sun breaking out a little bit around their lots i will have, 60 now. more later this afternoon. we are not going to warm up a lot. we may have afternoon highs reaching the mid 60s to upper 60s around washington. parts of virginia seeing a little sun coming out. they may -- get up into the mid 70s. for the most part, though, we will only be upper 60s, 70, the metro area. chance of showers coming in this afternoon. next week coming up in a couple much minutes. >> thank you. new developments in the d.c. political scandal involving the mayor. sources tell news4 that mayor gray at a crucial moment early in his 2010 campaign personally handled as much as $100,000 in campaign contributions from businessman jeffrey thompson. practical prosecutors raided thompson's house and businesses

earlier this month. it is part after wide ranging probe into possible campaign wrongdoing involving gray and other politicians. the mayor declined to comment. would students at a montgomery county middle school are aused of shooting a classmate with an air soft handgun. it happened after classes tuesday in germantown. the gun shoots a small projectile liking a b.b. and similar to this one, this gun here. the victim is okay, we understand. month word p the students accused of firing at him will be charged. this happened at the same school where just recently two male gym teachers got into a fistfight in front of the students. both of them are still on administrative leave. a busy weekend and beautiful weather might have you wanting to visit the district this weekend. but expect delays if you ride metro. there will be track work on four of the five lines. on the red line, shade write grove station will be closed. preshuttle buses will run between shady grove and rockville. trains will single track on the

orange, blue and green lines. all work begins at 10:00 tonight and should be done by monday morning's rush hour. trains will also start running an hour early tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. meanwhile, metro transit police using a new tactic to crack down on crime. officers are patrolling metro parking garages and thinking like the bad guys think. they are looking like valuable left uncovered in cars. if officers see ipods, gps devices, cell phones, mounting track it or cell phone charger, they will send a post card to the car's owner. warning them that they could be a victim of a theft. the new carrollton station ranked number one in crime theft. you will see major delays in the district tomorrow. the suntrust rock 'n' roll usa marathon is only -- marathon run completely right here in the district. there will be significant closures on constitution avenue and connecticut avenue northwest and anacostia drive southeast, and the start and finish lines around rfk stadium.

in afghanistan welfare soldiers from turkey and four civilians are dead from a helicopter crash. the chopper went down into a

house on the outskirts of the afghan capital kabul. mechanical failure believed to be the cause of the crash. turkey has more than 1800 soldiers in the country. they serve in noncombat role. nbc news confirmed the u.s. soldier accused of a shooting rampage that killed 16 afghan civilians is currently on his way to a military press only in levin wort levinworth, kansas. charges could be filed against him today. the soldier's whose identity has not been released, flown to kuwait yesterday to move him away from the backlash over the rampage in which nine children were killed. a seattle-based defense attorney has been selected to represent the staff sergeant. in an interview on the "today" show this morning he said he expect it is government to try to make an example of his client to appease the afghan government. >> i think that this case is more political than legal. and i'm used to legal things and not political things.

i think there will be an effort to try to paint him as a rogue soldier rather than a focus on how we are treating our gis in general and whether we should be over there to begin with. >> this morning afghan president karzai criticized the united states for not cooperating in an afghan investigation into that shooting rampage. the gop presidential candidates are focussing on puerto rico. the island holds its primary on sunday. mitt romney will arrive there today. santorum has been campaigning in puerto rico for more than a day. he's backtracking after saying english should be puerto rico's main language if it wants to back state. santorum says now spanish would be the predominant language there but english would have to be spoken. president sbaem hitting the campaign trail hard today aboard air force one. he schedule ad five fund-raisers today, three in atlanta and two in the hometown of chicago.

money raised today will be split between the president's campaign and the democratic national committee. developing story in michigan. people in dexter are spending the day assessing the damage after a tornado ripped through the rural town. this is near ann arbor, michigan. the slow-moving storm part of the system packing large hail and heavy rain and high winds. the twister demolished several commercial buildings and homes. there are no reports of injuries or deaths. and storm 4 meteorologist tom kierein joins us now to talk about whether we have fast write weather in our future here in the washington zblaer that front is -- triggered tall severe weather that moved east and weakened dramatically. we are just getting clouds from that system. and we are getting, also, just a little bit of light rain likely later this afternoon. and around our region we had those low clouds hanging in all morning long. this is a live picture showing some fog and low clouds hanging over the jefferson memorial with the potomac river. and this is from or

high-definition city camera located in alexandria, pointing towards the monument. right now at reagan national, 54 degrees under a cloudy sky. and we have a calm wind, air is damp and cool. all around the region. and it is -- look at what's happening over the last 12 hours, the areas in color, these are zones of showers and thunderstorms. they did cross the southern michigan with some really powerful winds and some tornadoes. but now it is really weakened dramatically and this area in green, that's a zone of some rain. right now getting some light rain out of the mountains. and the temperatures, well, where they had sun breaking out in central virginia, it is warming into the 60s now but here under the low clouds we are still in the 50s. this area in dark green all in the mid 50s and eastern shore and chesapeake bay and across most of maryland and northern virginia. and out into west virginia as well, many of the locations will are still only in the fif. richmond is at 66. norfolk now up to 73. quite a contrast in temperatures and what a dramatic contrast

from yesterday when we were in the 80s and got to 82 at reagan nation national. yesterday afternoon. and that set a record for march 15th. we are not setting any records today. that's for sure with the cool temperatures, fairfax, arling n arlington, montgomery, prince george's county, in the low to mid 50s which is about the average reality check for mid march. start feeling more like march the last few days. a closer view, showing a few thin spots in the overcast here in southern pair fax county and into prince william. few thin spots in the morning neck. sun trying to break through there and rappahannock county, culpeper, these areas in green, light rain now falling panhandle of west virginia. high this afternoon because of the low clouds are going to be cooler certainly than yesterday. high may reach mid and upper 60s around washington. going to be quite cool northeastern maryland, 60s there. may get to near 70 in parts of southern maryland, charles county, across the potomac into prince william, stafford, culpeper.

farther north, though, probably going to stay just in the 60s for highs by mid afternoon. quite a wide variety of temperatures around the region through the afternoon. also possibility of light rain coming through. we will have a variable wind, light, five miles an hour or so. tonight if you are heading out on this friday night, you may need an umbrella. we may have passing showers coming through. otherwise a cloudy friday evening. might have some thunder if we get any of hose showers going. we will drop from the mid 60s early evening down to near 60 by midnight and then by dawn on saturday, we will be down into the 50s. but then we ought to get sunshine back on saturday and great for outdoor recreation and fun on saturday. temperatures climbing into the mid 70s. and partly cloudy. then saturday night into sunday we will have clouds returning and quite cloudy on sunday and into monday. both days in the 60s to near 07. that's still way above the average highs for mid march. and a as we get into next week we may get more rain perhaps on tuesday and wednesday.

outside the sudan embassy today. clooney surging the international community to help ease tensions between the two sides. today the maryland house take up a plan to build a casino in prince george's county. county executives were baker is expected to testify at a committee hearing. he wants to bailed casino at national harbor, rosekroft raceway want an a seen ka seen owe at their track inside. house leaders don't plan on taking up the legislation until the senate acts. the senate could begin debate on the bill next week. they were supposed to generate millions for the state but slot parlors in maryland may not be as profitable as the board hers hoped. they are paying gla b $10 thousand per slot machine per year according to "the washington post." that's more than twice what lawmakers thought when they launched the program five years ago. maryland can wind up spending $50 million a year more than expected when all five of the state parlors are open. for more now on bringing a

casino to the national harbor we are joined this morning by county executive baker. welcome. >> thank you for having me. >> i know you have a busy morning ahead of you. you are headed for annapolis. we just talked about it. >> i'm going to annapolis to testify on the slots bill or gaming bill that is before the house committee. and as -- as you know, that i'm in favor of bringing a casino to national harbor. i think that bringing a high-end billion dollar casino that has not only table games and slots but also has entertainment, live entertainment, restaurants, and retail that will fit nicely with our economic development plans in the county. >> do you think that rosekroft will survive without getting casino there. >> clearly we have to do something withere. we would use the money string casino in prince george's county. in order for us to bring the

type of development to we immediate national harbor for me is the best site to do that. >> i think people are using national harbor as much as you anticipated before the bill n. >> you know, i think they are. i think with having this facility, having a casino there is attracting more people from outside of the washington region, to national heart sxwor to this area. >> let's talk about your budget proposal and you -- you announced yesterday. you wouldn't increase spending for schools and public safety programs as well as economic development and no raises for county employees. how is that setting -- county employees? >> what we do -- unfortunately we did not give races to county employees. we are giving one-time bonuses. what we said in this budget and i think the counsel will agree with me on this is that we wanted to send a signal to our employees that they do a great job. we appreciate the work they are doing. this is a good-faith effort on our part. we are going to give you something and as soon as we get revenues in we will look to --

for raises and colas. >> does that include police officers? >> what i said to the school board -- i don't control hair budget but i said to the superintendent and school board i would like to see them raise our teachers' salaries. we have to be competitive with this region. montgomery county has given out raises so has the district of columbia and fairfax county. there's not a lot of money going to our education system. increasing about $21 million in that hopefully they can use some of the money to give modest raises to our teachers who deserve it. unfortunately for our police officers and firefighters and others, we are not going to be able to do the c.o.l.a.s they want but we are offering -- we are dealing one-time bonuses. >> president obama was there visiting this week at prince george's county community college. lot of folks will excited about his presence. had stayed for lunch.

how important are visits for that? >> the community college doing phenomenal work. both in terms of educating our children and preparing them important the work. talk about energy and i thought it was timely and appropriate. and then to stop in one of our restaurants in the southern part of the county and eat with terrific for us a great day for prince george's county. >> which restaurant did he go to? >> he went to texas ribs, barbecue and ribs in clinton. so i'm sure they are very happy. off schedule. >> probably get a lot of good news after that. always nice to have you with us here. >> thank you. always nice to be here. >> thank you for coming. let's check in with tom kierein and the latest the forecast. >> we have the low clouds still hanging in as a result and temperatures are still cool. but this is a reality check. this is what march should feel like. it is march 16, after all. and it is 55. we have been lull flood a false sense of summer here the last

few days. 55 at reagan national. low and mid 50s in prince george's county as well as in montgomery county studded montgomery, arlington, fairfax counties. right mere the chesapeake bay. still a chill in the air. only in the low 50s. and farther to our south, though, little sun trying to break out in the highlands of west virginia. central shenandoah valley, charlottesville, temperatures are now beginning to climb into the 60s. over the last 12 hours, been a lot of cloudiness. few of the green areas through sprinkles in montgomery and loudoun county and points west out into the mountains. and those sprinkles may move their way parfarther east the n few hours. may get up to upper 60s, 70 around washington. much of maryland, though, in the 60s. and then this evening might get a few passing showers. otherwise cloud write. then sun back on saturday and sunday. little bit anyway. still quite a bit of cloudiness around. should be a bit cooler into the next part of next week. may get more rain tuesday and wednesday. that should help in reducing the pollen count. that's the way it looks now.

>> thank you, tom. people of mineral, virginia are cover recovering after a devastating earthquake last year. and the country's superstar alan jackson is helping with that recovery. the award-winning singer will perform sunday, may 20 in the parking lot of luisa county high school. shortly after the quake, the small town of about 500 people beat out kansas city in an online voting contest to host jackson. minimum ram's mayor said she expects about 6,000 tickets to be available. it is going to be at least one more night before you get a chance to see some rockets light up the night's sky. nasa has postponed the launch of five rockets within a span of pooi five minutes until tomorrow night. that's when they will be, we hope. they say thunderstorms expected to be in the area tonight forced them to scrub the launch. the rockets will release a chemical into the atmosphere that will help scientists study

nose it doesn't work in our society. many times the patients younger than 18 come into rhinoplasty. >> sit okay? have all your bones grown to where they will be so -- at 16, it is okay to have -- >> really is. girls the end to mature earlier than boys. 14 and boys i always push them off to 16 or 18. they mature later. >> has the -- plastic surgery -- rhinoplasty, changed at all over the last ten years? >> absolutely. you know. just a few decades ago, they were all -- cookie cutter noses and overdone. now they are individual and more conservative and functional. they work. it is no longer acceptable to have a better looking nose but withdrew breathe as well. >> i think a lot of you have computer imaging where you can show a person what a different nose can -- can somebody go in and say i will get -- i want my most to look like sandra bulk on's nose? >> they can bring pictures in. the computer is great because patients can see what the

surgeon has in mind in terms of the final results. they can give input as i like this, i don't like this. a powerful school for rhinoplasty planning. >> you told us recently that it had been a study found that changing the nose can actually make a person look younger. why is that? >> we alluded to that to an earlier segment. study of the american journal of facial plastic surgery shows that rhinoplasty surge i have making people look between 3 to 5 years younger. >> why? >> because what happens as we age, our noses droops, becomes elongated as we lift it -- lifted, made smaller. it is more youthful appearance. >> the nose actually droops as we get older? >> earlobes and nose. >> one more thing to worry about. are you seeing a lot of older people? you said 18 to 80. are you seeing people -- yes. they can do it because the elasticity of the nose is very good and even the age of -- in
