store front barely missing a cloud that included a baby. i'm chris gordon. this took place on 12th street in northeast. it sent some people running in fear. derrick ward was there when it happened. >> reporter: the scene just seconds after this mini van crashed backwards into the front of a business on 12th street in brooklyn. it was beginning to pick up. murry and paul's restaurant was full, standing room only. patrons spilled out into the street amid-the fear of a collapse. the driver appeared disoriented. >> as he was backing up, he must -- his foot must have hit the pedal and he went jackknifed

into this store front. >> reporter: the baby seems to know something is going on her father knows all too well how close she came to a victim. >> i moved the baby quick. just get my baby out the way. >> reporter: the building belongs to deaf outreach. luckily, they weren't open for business on this sunday morning. the driver was taken away in an ambulance. he was conscious and speaking immediately after the crash. everyone here passers by, first responders and witnesses took some pause to ponder how fortunate it was that this krosh only resulted in property damage. >> i'm glad no one was injured. it's terrible. he was going 25 miles per hour just backing up into this store front. >> reporter: derrick ward, news 4. just steps away from that crash, a man was stabbed to

death at a nightclub. it happened around 2:30 this morning at a club called the library. that's on 12th street in northeast. there's little to go on in this case. police have not released the identity of the man killed in the stabbing. culpepper sheriff scott jenkins says he has nothing to hide when it comes to a conviction that was vacated in a murder that goes back to 1996. jenkins spoke for 20 minutes at a town hall in kul pculpepper. he's served 12 years in prison, but he was released from jail last week. in february a federal judge condemned police and prosecutors for outrageous misconduct in the case. they are accused of conceal iina plea deal. they also did not disclose failed polygraph results. the prosecutor gary close

resigned but denied any wrong doing. today sheriff jenkins says the truth will come out in time. >> as soon as it is allowed, i will answer your questions. i'll give details. and if possible, i will even show the recorded video interrogations from the investigation and make those public to you in a town hall meeting. >> special prosecutor raymond murro is deciding whether or not to retry michael hash. hash must stay with his parents near charlottesville, virginia, and report to a caseworker on a weekly basis. in the race for the white house, gop contenders are keeping a close eye on puerto rico waiting ing ting to see we primary there. mitt romney was on the defensive. and as brian moore reports, every delegate counts. >> reporter: as puerto rico held its sunday presidential primary, mitt romney and rick santorum

a man faces drunk driving charges tonight after his lexus got stuck on train tracks and was hit by a train. it happened last night in maryland. you can see from the viewer photos, police brought in a tow truck to remove the car, but before he could pull it off the tracks, a freight train hit both vehicles. no one was inside either at the time. it's unclear if the train operator had any warning about the vehicles in his path. uganda's prime minister says the kony 2012 video gives a false impression of his company. it calls for kony's video, the prime minister and other critics say it distorts some of the facts including the current

level of violence. >> it's as if kony is still in uganda, as if our country is full of conflict. >> back in the u.s., family members of jason russell says the film maker's bizarre actions of last week was in part of the criticism of 2012. police detained in san diego after he was found naked on a street corner scream iing. a in this case day outside today. clouds hung on tough for most of the late morning into this afternoon. but once the sun started coming out, that's all it took. temperatures responded nicely. once the sunshine came out, temperatures jumped up about ten degrees. it turned into a delightfully mild and sun splashed sunday afternoon. outside we go. a great-looking day today. this is in northwest washington. kids on swing sets and playing

in sand boxes. having a great time. playing a little softball and soccer out there. good kick. good form out there. got to run it down. a beautiful day to be outside. hopefully you had a chance to get outside and enjoy the great weather in your own backyard. 67 at national airport with a mix of clouds and sunshine. light breeze out of the south. averaging only 7 miles per hour. where the sunshine came out earlier, temperatures jumped up the most. noticeably cooler closer to the chesapeake bay. only 58 in annapolis. there are showers in the mountains. i'll show you those in a second. through the rest of your sunday evening, clouds on the increase and can't completely rule out a stray shower or two, especially in the western suburbs.

nothing going on around town, but out to the west, here's interstate 81. there's winchester and wardensville. light showers out here. did have a couple rumbles of thunder. those are starting to fall apart now that we're losing the heating of the day. most of that is going to dry up east of the mountains. don't expect a lot in the way of rain chances. our area of high pressure that brought us the breeze will protect us. d.c. shower chances increasing late tonight. most of it though is going to wait until tomorrow. a ripple in the atmosphere. may see a couple showers tomorrow. keep that at the ready. into tuesday, the drier, warmer air returns. so overnight tonight, another cloudy, mild morning. can't rule out a sprinkle or two. start off temperatures in the 50s. tomorrow low to mid-70s. even with clouds and showers around. showery weather takes leave of us early on monday night or tuesday morning and near 80

this game was a gut check. >> this is the best way to say it. hoya's heartbreak. everyone likes to see a big upset, but when it's your school, it's bad news. georgetown falls to 11 seed nc state marking the fourth loss to a double-digit seed in the last five years. chatting with the referee. a little pat on the backside. freshman connection hopkins to wittington. georgetown takes a ten-point lead. but there was this steal and dunk by c.j. les lee. nc state up three at halftime. second half. after trailing by as many as 11,

nc state was up big in the the second half putting the hoyas in a hole they couldn't dig out of. >> we fought to the last second. they went on a run. it was difficult for us to bounce back. it just hurts. it hurts. especially for us seniors. it hurts. >> it's hard to see this group and the seniors are a special part of that. but this group is one of the most special groups i've been associated with just in terms how they have worked for each other and you can look at losses and bad times and only judge them on that, but this group and what they did together was special and for each other. >> what's the hardest part about this loss for you personally? >> that it's my last college game ever. you know, i won't ever get to
