in the hours after he shot and killed trayvon a month ago. the video obtained by abc news. what it shows could be damaging to the accounts that martin attacked zimmerman before the shooting. also, tonight, the very first interview with george zimmerman's father. first to the video though, reaction from the martin family lawyer tonight. we begin with jim handily aley look at the video. >> reporter: this video is clear and appears to show inconsistencies in the report that zimmerman told police. take a look in the video released by abc news you can see george zimmerman getting out of the police car. at the sanford, florida police station. hours after the shooting of trayvon martin. zimmerman in handcuffs. you see his pockets get searched. zimmerman reportedly told police he was attacked by martin and acted in self-defense when he shot the unarmed teenager.

if you look closely, zimmerman seems to be walking fine and has no visible blood or wounds on his face or head. several people close to trayvon martin's family remarked about the casual nature of the police officers. and this looks like unusual treatment in the case of a man suspected of shooting and killing a teenager. as most of us know by now, this case has led to nationwide rallies calling for george zirmmzir zimmerman's arrest. federal authorities are in florida now. >> reaction to the video has been fast and furious tonight. the martin family attorney on capitol hill, he continues our team coverage tonight. shamari? >> the martin family attorney says this video blows george zimmerman's self defense claim out of the water. take a look again, martin family attorney told me this video is significant because keep in mind the volunteer neighborhood watch

captain claims 17-year-old trayvon martin punched him in the nose. knocked him to the ground, slammed his head into the concrete. the initial police report indicated zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose. >> video cup comes out, what isr reaction? >> we have heard the 911 tapes. america sees with our eyes the video we know that police report is a fabrication. we don't understand why the powers that be in the sanford police department and the state attorneys office have conspired to try to sweep the murder of trayvon martin under the rug? >> is there a cover-up? >> absolutely. see we know this here. that there absolutely was some misleading the public when they said his nose was broken and there was blood on the back of his head. there is no blood on his clothes.
