i still think we will see breaks of sun. rain drops are a long way away. if you need to do something outside today, it will be dry. don't be scared by the clouds out there this morning. temperatures are inching their way to the 50-degree mark. most everybody shy of 50. 48 in culpepper. and 46 in leesburg. steadier sprinkles and eventually heavier rain showers are way out to the west, and most of those hef yes thunderstorms are to the south and west today. we will have sprinkle chances sneaking in here, to the end of the afternoon to the evening hours. for now, cloudy. i think we will break out of these clouds. the cloud deck is only 100 feet high. after that we get sunshine late morning through afternoon, and that puts us in the low 60s, and then when the clouds lower and

thicken, that will be leading to shower chances probably sunset to 3:00 or 4:00 tomorrow morning. >> and relief for allergies sufferers, too. instead of their sunday best, a d.c. congregation is wearing hoodees to church on this palm sunday. it's about making a statement on the trayvon martin case. thousands took over the streets of sanford, florida, where martin was shot last night. protesters march to the police department demanding the arrest of george zimmerman. they say race played a role in the shooting.

the civil rights vowed to make martin's name as infamous as selma. >> we are not the troublemakers. we are the trouble breakers. if you shoot us in sanford, it hits us in chicago and l.a. we will stand together. >> protesters held similar demonstrations all across the country, even one as far as england. demonstrators said they have seen similar cases and wanted to show support for martin's family. and then the most recent shooting happened in suitland yesterday. one woman was killed and the other shot in the leg. police are trying to find out

what led up to the violence. >> we have learned the victim's name in another deadly shooting in prince georges county. he was 19-year-old. he was shot on woodbury street in do youice dale. a shooting led election officials to briefly stop early voting in the district. somebody fired shots in northwest washington outside the community city. rescue workers took him to the hospital. early voting was stopped for about 20 minutes there yesterday. that was the last day for early voting in the district before tuesday's primary. now to december 2012 where the candidates are gearing up for another round of primaries. voters in wisconsin, d.c. and maryland all go to the polls on

tuesday. wisconsin has 42 delegates up for grabs. right now mitt romney has a seven-point lead over rick santorum in poling. romney says a swoep of the primaries on tuesday would make a big statement on his quest to become the republican nominee. romney focused his attacks on president obama while santorum criticized romney on the on going debate over the health care law. >> the president because he believes in the government-dominated society, continues to build government larger and larger and create more and more dependance upon government. this is a time when he is willing to put together trillion dollar deficits. >> the choice you have here on tuesday, you have one person that can make that case and you

have one that can't. >> gingrich, who is tied for third with ron paul urged his supporters to stand by embattled governor scott walker. as we enter another month of primaries, every delegate is battled for. but does santorum have a shot at pulling off an upset. >> on the one hand, romney seems to have pivoted to general election mode. he has not brought up santorum on his own. on the other hand, as you mentioned, they are running ads and loft of the super pack ads are very harsh and negative on

rick santorum. they are not acting like he poses no threat whatsoever. >> rick santorum will be on "meet the press" today, and also on the show, new york senator, rick schumer. as d.c. prepares for its primary, many have done their civic duty. community centers around the district opened their doze to those that wanted to avoid the rush on tuesday. 19 delegates are up for grabs this tuesday in december. right now, thousands of racing around the district. it's the annual cherry blossom run. independence avenue is closed from 23rd street to 14th street. some parts of rock creek parkway are shutdown as are the memorial bridge and ohio drive. constitution will remain open during the race.

police in miami are investigating a massive shooting outside a funeral home that left two dead and a dozen u.s. injured. police say it happened friday night. a car drove by and open fire on mostly young adults leaving the funeral home. they were attending a wake for a friend that had died. police don't have any possible suspects on the shootings. a philadelphia man faces charged after a police chase kills an innocent bystander. there was a four-mile chase, and you can see his car slam into another car that just happened to be crossing through that intersection. the driver died and a woman and toddler were hurt. police say the suspect got out

of his car and tried to run but officers caught up with him shortly after. a company criticized for the pink slime meat production is getting report for those that helped make it. bpi stopped production at three of the four plants last week. its actually excess meat that looks like pink slime when it's treating. yesterday some 15,000 people showed up for a rally in iowa to support bpi. they served up burgers and t-shirts that read, dude, it's beef. >> this is what we do here, and this is the community saying with a clear voice we will stand united with one of our own. >> beef is very big out there.

a lot of meat packing plants. the usda said the pink slime does not pose a health risk. and as many as four people have died in shark attacks in the last seven months, and the most recent happened this weekend when an australian man was diving at a popular hole when he was killed by a great white shark. a cruise liner once stranded off the coast of the philippines is now headed to malaysia. it was in the middle of a 17-night trip when a fire disabled the ship's engines. about 1,000 people were onboard the ship. the philippines coast guard says the crews managed to fix the engines, and five workers

50s and low 60s for a brief time. the maximum amount of sunshine you will see today, maybe two toe three hours of it during the afternoon. and clouds thicken by late this afternoon, and showers come in at about 6:00 this evening. we still have at least nine or ten more dry hours in front of us. heavy thupb activity will go south and west of us. but there are showers across parts of ohio and that's the leading edge of the shower chance sneaking in here. if they were to hold things long enough, it would be about 9:00 or 10:00. and that the winds switched directions out of the south and eventually out of the southwest. and this little ripple of low pressure races by. and our winds come back around

dead in suitland. the second happened in lewis dale. mitt romney and rick santorum and newt gingrich are all campaigning. right now romney holds a slight lead over santorum in polling. and then wearing hoodees to church in response to the trayvon martin case. organizers are calling for the arrest of george zimmerman. he is the neighborhood watch captain that says he shot trayvon martin in self-defense. right now three people are out there trying to keep a big secret. they won friday's jackpot, and so far we know one of the winners bought their ticket in maryland. the winner may want to be
