afternoon i'm jim handly. i'm pat lawson muse. someone is beating people at random in the city. one of the victim is the tourist killed tuesday night in the petworth neighborhood. a man was found on georgia avenue, last night another victim, a woman on longfellow street. all three attacked under a ten-block radius. police chief cathy lanier wrapped up a news conference. pat collins will have a story on the warning for the chief for everyone who lives in the district. to the drama in the john edwards trial. andrew young testified money from edwards wealthy friends was to cover up the pregnancy of edwards mistress. >> but today, defense attorneys pushed the points the first big check came more than a month before young was even aware of the child.

showed you earlier. we'll look at that on radar. 63 degrees reagan national, with again, an overcast sky. there's the area of low pressure you see it there right around norfolk, the warm front south of us. that will be making its way northward. and the cold front back to the west. around 8:00, 9:00, a brief shower may come through. temperature, 70 in martinsburg. 70 in winchester. these numbers in the 60s around our immediate area, could go up a couple more degrees here. by 11:00, 60 degrees. tomorrow morning, 44 to 50 degrees throughout the area with clearing sky, will be a breezy start to the day. as the front goes, there is the warm front area of low pressure just down to the south. what we will find is as the cold front comes through, we'll have wind around for much of the day tomorrow, then clouds back on saturday with the same front, with rain coming in for mainly

grandma, we have to check you. >> michelle says she had nightmares for five straight nights after that. the transportation security administration released a statement that says in part, tsa has recently implemented modified screening procedures of children 12 and under that will further reduce the need for a physical pat-down of kids. in this case, however, the child had completed screening but had contact with another member of her family who had not completed the screening process. tsa has reviewed the incident and determined that our officers followed proper current screening procedures in conducting a modified pat-down on the child. a little boy in china is feeling better after doctors removed a screw from his stomach. the 16-month-old swallowed the three quarter inch long screw on tuesday. his grandfather says he was playing in his room at the time, and an x-ray showed no sign of damage to the baby's stomach. doctors went on with the

look ahead to the weekend. looking really mixed up. >> if you remember last weekend, as i head to the wall, we had a little bit of winter and summer. summer first and then the winter on sunday. this weekend, we get the chill really on saturday, but overall i'm comparing this weekend to one that is going to feel a lot like early spring. highs in the 50s on saturday. here is a look at the northeast and mid-atlantic, all in the 50s. raleigh, north carolina, at 71 degrees for a high temperature. sunday, sunday may be 61 degrees. we still have 70s to the south of us, 50s to the north. kind of trapped in cooler air this weekend with that front. meandering very close to us. as far as storm 4 radar goes, showers downed to south with that batch that is making its move toward norfolk and around areas of williamsburg, way down to the south.
